- I ordered this lightsaber mid March 2015 during Ultrasabers' 10% OFF and FREEINITIATE promotion. My soundboard was upgraded to the new Obsidian V4 Soundboard for FREE as this was their pre-release bet

Welp, you sold me on the V4 board just for the Ancient Saber font. I'm putting together a 'space pirate' outfit for our events and wanted a laser sword instead of a light saber, so that meant finding a font that wasn't a standard saber :D

just ordered this exact saber without the window emitters and I got Violet Blade with Silver clash, I will have to say though 3-4 weeks for fabrication I'm gonna go insane! haha its only been a day
i hate to be that guy but its not a mirriord tip they put a special foil in there that reflecs most of the light but allows some to go through the tip so its not like a fully mirriord tip

No that is just an activation button. He was using the button to change the sound fonts.
+NLSwag The only button on the saber is the activation switch. For lockup you press it after activation, then press it again to end lockup. For clash you just make a sharp turn/hit something.To power off, you hold the button for 3 seconds.
Actually, on one of Vader's Vaults Reviews, a guy said he has purchased sabers from all kinds of companies, including Ultrasabers and Saberforge, and said that Vader's Vault is by Far the best and makes all the other sabers look like "tube pipes lol" So i'm saving up for the Vader's Vault "Wrapped Havoc saber". Check it out. By the way, you got a sub =) You got gr8 vids and spin tutorials. Keep up the good work =)

The $70 ones on Ultrasabers are for light/color only. Maybe you accidentally selected it with sound. From Saberforge the $70 ones are for hilt only and to add light adds $100

+nunchuckerz Yes, you most definitely can because Ultrasabers products are Modular Hilt System (MHS) compatible. Also, the blades from TCSS fit into Ultrasabers hilts.

Hey! I have a few questions.. 1. Do you think there is a big difference between the obsidian v4 sound and the obsidian lite sound? 2. If i am around 5'5 is the 24" blade too short? do you recommend the longer blade? 3. Does the saber come together or do you have to put it together?
+Kellie Krohn Yes there is a pretty big difference betweent the Obsidian V4 and Obsidian Lite boards. The V4 allows you to store many soundfonts on the go and enables you to cycle through the fonts by pressing the activation switch on your saber. You can connect it to the PC and adjust your parameters or install new soundfonts. It also uses a Li-ion battery set up.
The Obsidian Lite doesn't allow your to change your fonts or connect PC whatsoever. It is installed with the default soundfont and utilises a standard 4 x AAA battery set up.
Regarding the blade, yes, 24" is too short. Get a 32" one and if that is too long, cut it down to 30".

I think it's best to go for the obsidian premium.

Oh, ok. Because i really like the Ultrasabers v4 obsidian soundboard, but i really want to be able to change colors during use. Vader's Vault has this for their sabers, but they dont have a hilt i like and their soundboards aren't as good. Any suggestions?
they use Plecter Labs soundboards - the best in the industry. better than the Obsidian soundboard.

Obsidian V3 can only store one soundfont. V4 can store several soundfonts, depending on how much space each font takes up. and you can cycle between the soundfonts without having to connect to the computer.

Personally torn whether to go for silver or arctic blue flash on clash for guardian blue, but silver seems to be the overall best option for most colours imo.

+cooldude123817 There's different blades. The strongest is the "UltraEdge Heavy Grade." There are videos of people smashing them into walls and the colours don't even flicker. There are other ones that have a brighter colour and weigh less though.

If you want sabers that can change colours from Ultrasabers, you either have to choose the RGB version (4 buttons), the emerald version (connect to PC to change) or the colour discs version (adegan silver with coloured discs

Am I making my saber now and I am wondering what is the difference between the V3 and v4 usb edition? Does it make a difference?
Mine did not come with preloaded alternative sounds. Just one sound. I tried holding the button as you did on yours but nothing happens. I have the same saber and sound card you do. Am I doing something wrong or so I have to install new sounds myself?
I think you bought the obsidian LITE version. Same sound board but without all the different options and USB capabilities.

simpleplanfan1919 the flash on clash is orange. I would recommend getting silver flash on clash instead as the orange FoC is uncomfortable to the eyes when alternated with green.
Really? Because i find the FoC amazing with the orange, it has the ''old school'' saber look as in like the old republic almost. Well thank you for your suggestion, but im just in love with these two combinations lol xD
Faris Tan and quick question, is this hilt comfortable for 2 handed dueling, i like to mix one handed and two handed a lot. So does it have enough room for 2 hand for dueling purposes? thanks

It doesnt really matter because it only does the voice to tell you what soundfont you are using. If you leave it on the soundfont, it wont make a voice sound every time you turn it on, so it should be fine

Can someone please explain to me why the movie replicas can cost up 1900 dollars while the ultrasabers that look so much better only cost around 300?
chen j probably because the replicas are made with the Graflex 3-Cell Flash Sticks (same thing they used in the movies) and those alone are running $700-$1000 for that alone ☹️

Hi there, frequent 2020 buyer of ultrasabers here, I can tell you, excellent! super high quality hilts and the best blades out there, I have used these things in fast intense combat hitting super hard and have had nothing more than scratches that I cleaned off with water and a sponge. As for the actual hilts, it's what you would expect, all metal and perfectly what you think your getting, a solid awesome lightsaber, although I cannot say as to how good sound is as I do not yet own one with sound. If you want something on the cheap I highly recommend any of the dark initiate hilts with the Ultra Edge Heavy Grade blades, they hold up great and I have no problems, they even sell staff sabers! My only complaint is if you get the most basic battery pack in may break if the hilt gets hit, but nothing good ol' ducktape can't fix. Overall, 7.5/10, fantastic lightsabers but I'm too scared of the clash sounds sensitivity to buy it with clash.

i like the yellow av switch, really nice but perhaps green would of been better. that v4 is pretty cool but still doesnt give the ability to change the speed of the flash on clash. i would call that a failure. the design of the saber is pretty basic, but not too bad, better than the original initiates and dominix . windows are always good. i like how there is a skinny neck and then the head. i would of got somethin a little more fancier but you must do wat u feel is right ofcourse.
I prefer the yellow switch as it matches the anodized gold linings on the hilt. And regarding the FoC, I agree. It could have been made to flicker more.
Faris Tan well that gold lining is not really gold color is it. its more of a copper color. im not talking about flickering. im talking about speed. i think the default flash is like maybe .1 seconds. but you can get .2 with the emerald driver

i prefer 32". 37" is too long and even if you're tall enough, it still disrupts the balance of the whole saber

This is a plain Obsidian Sound set up with the new Obsidian V4 soundboard. Not an Emerald set up.

Drew Spencer there are certain requirements to be fulfilled before you actually get the free upgrade. Check saberforum.com
Faris Tan I can't seem to find where it talks about the requirements. This is my first ultra saber and I just need to know if I can get this or not right now. If I can't, do you recommend waiting for it's official release?
In saber forum, the owner mentioned that in the Obsidian V4 thread if I'm not mistaken. There are certain requirements like being a forum member and posting at least 20 posts, opting a specific battery configuration in your saber order etc. if yes, you just have to include "upgrade to obsidian v4" in your order comments.
if you wait for its official release, the price will be $30-40 higher than the standard Obsidian V3 board.

Yes they do, for sabers with sound. the images on their website are based on sabers without sound.
