      FireDemon 216 does forza have crash physics? Does forza have a modding community? Does forza have have 6 maps that is bigger than the original? Does forza have different engine sounds than a copy pasted lambo v12? Does forza have slow motion in real time? That’s why I like beam. Thank you for my ted talk.

    The thing about roll cages (and why their sometime illegal on the street ) is they have to be combined with a racing seat and seatbelts to be effective. With normal seatbelts you're upper body can move far more, allowing you head to smash against the bars, causing more damage than the crash often times.
    For street use, a roll bar, basically the back half of a cage, would be more than enough to help survive a lot of these impacts.

      Yeah, the test dummies are rather wonky. I appreciate the time and effort mod devs have put into them, but it would be nice to see them formally added to the base game. It's certainly within the realm of possibility. The issue with the dummy mods seems to be caused by the game engine itself, and how it struggles with simulating very small objects and their interactions with other objects. The game was designed to simulate soft-body collisions with low coefficients of restitution (COR). The interaction between a dummy and the interior of a car involves collisions with higher elasticity, meaning a higher COR. I.e., objects tend to bounce rather than crumple.
      When a small object interacts with a larger one, you get lots of inaccuracy. While the small object may have 5 or 6 nodes in a given area, the larger object may have only 1 or 2. This leads to lots of rounding and less accurate simulations. You can see this by placing a bunch of small objects in a container. They'll have a tendency to bounce around indefinitely, like some kind of infinite feedback caused by the higher elasticity.
      To accurately model a dummy, you need to factor in things like seat deformation and seatbelt tension, collisions between the dummy's hands and steering wheel, etc.. It's definitely not impossible, but it will require a _ton_ of optimization changes to the game engine itself.

      As for my original reply. I was saying if you take the car with seats out,carpet out and as much of the dash out and still be drivable they typically quote about $2k to install a cage. Then you have to modify as needed the panels and reinstall.
      More or less if all they have to do is bend and weld it in then its $2k. That doesn't include paint or disassembly of the car to be able to fit the cage.

    Roll cages are safe for racing scenarios because your car is more likely to flip or roll over than to take on a head on collision.
    For street use, cars are designed to have crunch zones in the car to slow down the impact in the event of a crash.
    I still think that all cars should have some sort of roll cage integrated in the main cabin for roll overs. Doesn’t necessarily need to be like a rally roll cage, but something to make the frame more sturdy

    The purpose of a roll cage is to chanel the impact force around and not through you.Should you forget to wear 6 point seatbelt and a helmet the roll cage will kill you before the car collpses around you.IMHO the results in this nice video are invalid.

    Isn't the only problem with rollcages that the g forces on your body will be higher on specific accidents. Im i right?

    Roll cage are very important...cause it can protect you from death 98% time untill a very heavyweight truck falls on you....but that's only 2% of accidents happening in India..... mostly 98% are side back or front collision and roll overs in which roll cage can save your life.......i hv seen a person with roll cage in cars and for safety he covered roll cage with soft rubber to avoid unnecessary injuries from that....and that's a brilliant idea cause he was in accident where truck side collided him but he was safe and alive with minor injuries 🙏🙏🙏🙏

  • @thecreator224
    @thecreator224 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Shame to see how many people are thinking rollcages are the best thing ever and apply everywhere. Yes they work well in certain accidents but they are very much not good for your daily driver unless it suffers from very specific problems. Most modern cars have substantial strength in the A, B and C pillars and are unlikely to completely fold as seen in a typical 30-40mph crash. You also have airbags, inertia reel seatbelts, and crumple zones that absorb energy from the crash. Kinetic energy from the two cars going into deforming those structures would be put into the current safety devices, making them less effective, or worse be put though your body, potentially causing significant injury. If your car is older it is likely it doesn't have these advanced safety features and so a roll cage makes a little more sense, but you'll also need consider the seat, seat belt and potentially roll cage padding to ensure the cage doesn't become another way to meet your end.
