For example in Monza, where an F2002 recently ran there in tests with modern slicks and those who were present said it was more than 10 seconds faster than the track record! The same two years ago in the Netherlands, Motoya used a 2002 BMW with just 85% of power and was almost 5s faster than the best time on the track set by Verstapen!

Yes, if use virtual v10 sound. Put speakers at rear of the f1 car. Then control v10 sound from steering wheel monitor, the audiences will hear the screaming of v10 sound during the race. Maybe this way will increase the ticket sales or tv views rating.

They shouldn't remove the DRS, but the hybrid system, after all the DRS is part of the car's chassis, it was designed to have DRS, the hybrid system can be deactivated, so the dispute becomes very Unequal due to the lower drag of the F2004, the DRS would give more equality to the dispute
No, because the W11 has a higher level of downforce. The V10 era cars had no where near the level of downforce the W11 has and the F1 cars got bigger during the turbo hybrid era for downforce purposes.

The grooved tires not only had, you know, grooves, but were also of much harder compounds than the current tires. If you gave them modern soft slicks, on a track like spa, with long straights and a few medium-high speed corners, I don't doubt that they would definitely challenge modern cars. They had much greater aerodynamic efficiency (as in the balance between drag and downforce). They might have had less downforce, but were WAY less draggy. Couple that with being much lighter and voilá. More so, I'm pretty sure that a 2007/8 car, with modern slicks and a V10 would absolutely SMOKE a modern car. Too bad they generated too much dirty air.
@@razorr_o Now give slicks instead of grooved tyres to the F2004... That's the biggest difference here. The soft slicks are about 2 seconds or more per lap faster than any of the grooved tyres back in the day. They were extremely good tyres but they are never going to grip as much as full slicks.

I think there is too much bias here for the Ferrari. Yes, it sounds amazing and is crazy fast given the grooved tires. But I don't think the Turbo Hybrid V6 cars get enough respect for how fast they are. They don't sound amazing, but honesty, neither did the Turbos of the 1980s. Even so I would have love to seen those V10 cars on slicks!

W11 was, IMO, illegal. The fact they were allowed to use DAS when no other team had it as well as the unfair sporting advantage makes it an illegal driver aid. I will never ever acknowledge the W11 as a great car. To me its just a cheatmobile.
