The band director lied. Everyone knew it's been going on for years. No one wants to be held accountable because this young man was murdered at an institution that was supposed to be a safe haven.
I have been pledge 3x over. For an HBCU band, for a fraternal org, and again for greek, and this shit right here what went down with Robert was stupid as hell. NO ONE should be losing their life over any kind of organization. He was the damn D.M., I mean wow that's fucked up. The fact of the matter is, someone life was taken for nothing. To prove what? To ALL who reads this, IT'S NOT THAT SERIOUS, and I'm FAR from paper anything!
Any child, let alone most adults, can tell the band members are lying yet they show no guilt or regret. This is an embarrassment to higher education. I hope the family and friends of Robert Champion patience, peace, and strength.
I played the drums the year before and left because I already knew it was coming an I’m not with all that hazing nonsense just so happened the very following year it happens RIP ROBERT
Why do people make hazed individuals the center of hazing, and not the people who condone hazing? "Why he would've subjected themselves to hazing in the first place.." What? It is obvious that hazing is based on power dynamics, people being hazed are not dominant. There is no one FORCING someone who is ALREADY a member of a group to beat them with a paddle if said member just has such a strong moral compass to not do so. People are being hazed because that is what was set up before they got there, and they are told that they have to do in order to reach a goal. And it makes a shit ton more sense to just punish the people that are doing the hazing then to just tell people to give up all their goals for dignity's sake. Y'all are ass-backwards in your thinking. Every story, we hear more shit being talked about the people who got hazed than the people who actually did the shit to them. What the hell sense does that make? Shame the perpetrators harder than you shame the victims please.
Damn this is awful... This is why I never liked frats, or stuff like that where they do hazing. This didn't have to happen, and my brother or sister ain't gonna beat on me and i'm not gonna beat on them so we can say we are in the same group, band or some organization.
@@themansince ok. That’s not the experience I had when I marched. I never felt that I had to get hazed to be respected. I enjoyed my marching days. I didn’t go over on Bus C and I was respected. So that statement doesn’t apply to everyone.
I just cant understand why would a drum major want to pleadge. Seems to me that he would be the main one that they would hide this from. But if they didn't respect his authority then some scholarships should of been snatched.
I 've been on a hbcu band and when I was a freshman crabs had to wear white shirts at practice we had to always eat last wore boots even at practice these are things that the director can see and does see. They ignore it because its always happened even to them when they came through. And it helps them with the immaturity of being a young person ,you don't have to ask them to be Quit because they already are and better stay that way if they don't want to get taken to the patch every hbcu has 1
I feel sorry for the Robert Champion family & the Marching 100, but if you ask me Robert Champion knew he was goin to be hazed & he let them do it I mean he was 26 he knew what he was doin...and his parents talkin about some "we dont believe that" man Robert Champion has been hazed & he has hazed somebody atleast once when he was there, but he shouldn't have been drum major anyway he is to old that makes no sense
The whole ordeal with BAND hazing is stupid...truth be told I've done it but I quit because they bullshitted me on my crossing... Band hazing is a supposed ritual like it makes you and your brothers close because you went through this together as 1... For example Roberts friend in the vid has a close bond because of bus C...the band director is lying because every HBCU director enforces it...yu can't hide this for a long time...and I'm mad because I wanted to go like to JSU and UAPB or maybe ev
Hazing is bad but just being evil and low down is worser and that situation was just evil not just for that person either but when god get fed up he will work in mysteries ways ,even if its take dealth too show man he was not made to go around and practice evil to his fellow brethren ,this way Devine intervention will set a right for fellow brethren in the future. it look mess up but that what it take for man as a whole to see heaven by visiting hell. P
Took the Bus Shit too Far! Yes You do yo Bus because you want to be part of it but when you kill yo own you tripping big time. Rest DM. You a whole DM you could make the band do anything regardless if like or not! Band Dir don’t let anybody especially at HBCU be Dmajor! FAMU ?
He shouldn't have been killed. AND there shouldn't have been ANY CROSSING BUS C INITIATION ! Its sad that he had to die, but he made a decision to go on that bus KNOWING what was going to happen. SMH this is very ridiculous. I want to attend FAMU but i think they need to get their morals straight about the band and HAZING.
The band director lied. Everyone knew it's been going on for years. No one wants to be held accountable because this young man was murdered at an institution that was supposed to be a safe haven.
Hazing is not a black, white, brown, or yellow thing.
It's for followers- and followers come in every race, creed, and faith.

blackmajesty03 yep
If you're in the band world, EVERYBODY knows FAMU to be extra as hell with everything! This was very crazy and unacceptable
That's not brotherhood or sisterhood, that's a damn shame, and I have much respect for the hundred .
For a man to even think about hazing another man you are in serious question,no excuses

You can choose not to pledge and walk away anytime !

Its crazy because they pick and choose WHO THEY WANT TO BE HAZE. NOT EVERYONE GETS HAZE THATS IN THE FAMU BAND.
if you wanted respect, you had to be haze in FAMU band.
@@themansincenot true!
@@Redgal33 That is true. Thats what the band members said on the news. look it up!

dang and i wanted to be on the drumline at fam..oh my goodness
Everybody at that university knows what goes on there. Sad.
Absolutely barbaric activity. Julian White the band director is lying about not knowing about Bus C. How can he not know?
Leo Hawkins I agree with you. He should have been riding Bus C!

Incredibly sad.
I loved my process. Some people take it foo far tho
The band director is a lying he knew it all along
Exactly band directors know everything that’s going on trust me
Band director is lying. I went to an HBCU and our band hazed too and the band director knew.

Yes, he chose to do it, but he did not choose to die. They just took it too far.
