Amazed how many pilots waste extra amunition on planes that are clearly going to go down, and/OR in the next several minutes with engines on fire or with the wings clipped off, AND you are over enemy territory, AND you have about 15/20 seconds of total machine gun/cannon capacity, give it a rest and go after the next potential target with what ammo you have left, get your a__ back to base and give it another go the next assignment...amazing...Robert at 66.
@@Panzerlang 10 to one against utter incompetent opponents is merely a target rich environment in which to acquire ace status in one sortie. The USN, flying F4F's and the USAAF in P38's made many aces while fighting the Japanese in the first 18 months of the war, when every Japanese squadron was filled with aces and veterans themselves. The Germans, while superior to their foes, were not as good as you, or they thought they were. Just better than the rank incompetent, especially in the air. Otherwise the competent UK, after the Battle of Britain would be speaking German too.
Up until 0.43 seconds I was not so sure but at that point the graphics for the ground scenery failed to convince. But a good effort nevertheless. And as previously mentioned gun cameras tended to only operate when firing.
That is kind of shitty that the aggressive pilot kept on shooting after the tail section had left the plane . Your not supposed to kill the pilot just the plane if you can . Most pilots stay on their targets to see if the pilot bails out and that he is all right getting to the ground . If you think I am out of my mined then it is good conduct to do this . This is because how would like it if the tables had turned . One too many reports that pilots are to shoot to kill then it is fair game . The pilot lob it to ground all aircraft if the pilot bails and live he lives but if he died of a fighting chance then so be it . Most pilots aim to the biggest part of the plane and in some cases that is the wings .
Jeff Mullinix,,Exactly!! Couldn't agree more!! Destroy the enemy aircraft, not the pilot. Should the enemy pilot did fr. lack of armor plating, so be it. But I would think that the Fair Rules of the Geneva Convention of Combat Engagements would rule against destroying both plsne and pilot intentionally..Not hunane. But, then agsin, neither is War!! Nice Job. I love doing stuff like this, this is probably the best colour cam I've seen posted from IL2. If you don't mind I'd like to offer some feedback if you intend to make more? I'm not sure what fps you did the final edit in but I'd lower it to maybe 10 / 15 fps, I'd also add more of a flicker between frames. Regarding the comments on the scenery being a give away, I'd try and pick times of day and weather that makes the scenery look less CG. Also, as people have stated, Ammo wasn't unlimited and gun camera's only recorded for x amount of time after the trigger is released. I'd actually see if you could get friends to play instead of AI, they'd give you more believable combat footage.

Great job with making it look like old footage.
it looks like a video game!
Not bad at all!!! Very good editing!
Right
Looks really good
I can tell its Il2 beacuse real pilots being shot at don't fly in circles endlessly. XD
Except the rookies did, check out real WW2 footage of allied pilots shooting down barely-trained teenagers (and then calling themselves aces, lol).
