This gentleman is very intelligent and capacitate. He knows what he's talking about and he's doesn't beat around the bush. In fact he goes straight to the point. He has no fear or favor.
DA can't create jobs, neither ANC or anyone in the government. Private enterprise creates jobs. Government set the rules. These rules will either hinder or support private enterprise. Current government interference in private enterprises causes unemployment. Hence remove minimum wage, remove all hurdles to employee dismissal. "Can't fire, won't hire" means that if you are in a situation where you cannot easily or legally fire an employee due to factors like strong employment contracts or complex legal issues, then you are also unlikely to hire someone with similar characteristics in the future, as it could create a situation where you are stuck with a problematic employee you cannot remove.
You cannot deduce economic growth solely from a province's unemployment rate, especially where free movement between provinces exists. A low unemployment rate might reflect migration rather than genuine growth, while a high rate could indicate an influx of job seekers. Broader indicators like income levels, business growth, and migration patterns are essential for a complete picture.

The Western Cape has been flooded by people leaving poorly managed regions . Very difficult to deal with this influx The question to ask why do they want to come to Western Cape ? The answer is obvious !!
Don´t say the DA doesn´t have a plan of how to build an economy. More than 80% of the jobs created in SA over the past three years came from the WC and it has the lowest unemployement rate in the country at 19.6% vs the second closest witch is the NC at 30.4%. From StatsSA Q3 2024. This achievement is happening despite the growth prohibiting policies of the government.
80% of the jobs "created" in the Western Cape are menial labour jobs likes farm hands, waitors, garden boys and tea girls for rich white people which are mostly foreigners and not South African. You love to prop up these rubbish employment stats in the Western Cape with nonsense excuses.
Give me a break, are those jobs created for locals or foreigners. If you look at statics' over the years for different races groups in the WC, you will see unemployment rates has remained stagnant over the whole period DA has been in power in the WC. You failing to recognise in 1994 it was 5% now its 22%. What does that say of DA as a job creator. You White people can fall for their nonsense but voters of other races are starting to ask questions. You cannot argue with unemployed people and don't come with nonsense excuses about education because a lot of unskilled jobs are going to cheap foreign labour and graduates are sitting at home. People of other races are gatvol of the DA and its manipulation and blatant lies. I always called them out for it.
Dirk you fail to understand him on Genesis of it all 94 unemployment in wc was only 5% , creating job what kind of jobs are there to be sustainable? He is warning us to open our political eyes to see box ticking or use example of renovation of old building and say we developing or keep same group of people who has means to to be rich and say my people are progressing but when you closely look same thing recycle over and over again but others on the other hand remain down in poverty
The assertion that the DA has grown unemployment from 1994 levels is a *deeply* unfair one. First of all, the DA didn't run the WC outright until 2009, so even if we're comparing numbers, it should be from then. But more importantly *the DA doesn't run the national government*. The policies that have caused unemployment have been determined at a national level by the ANC. Finally, semigration has to be taken into account. The WC gets the most internal migrants relative to its population.
1 Take away for me was how a 40+% party in the national electorate is gone in South Africa, the ANC will be the last political party to have had that kind of percentage, at least for the foreseeable future.
Our political landscape has changed hence one of our political analyst Mr Prince Mashele once said I quote we need to start thinking about the future without the ANC off quote
When Zuma was in the ANC he was in charge of the military wing and security cluster who were loyal to him and later helped fight his political battles to become president. He might have been kicked out the ANC, but his supporting faction are still there helping to undermine the ANC and destroy it from within and Zumas hope is he can return to save it and take back control.
Nice tie Sandile... I know you will read this comment. 😂 On a serious note, you have always stated the DA is a white party and the ANC is a black party. This to a degree is true but i do feel that it would be more accurate for you to say that out of all the parties, the DA is the most diverse in its voter base and leadership (all levels) with ACDP and ASA also.
I do not vote for the da, but I do think Sandile saying they caused unemployement is WC is dishonest. As a first point they did not control WC from 1994 from hence Sandile says they had 4% (no unemployment). They took over in 2009 and I am interested to know where unemployment was in 2009 as opposed to today to see if there was a real regression. As a second point due to higher gdp growth per capita in the WC there would naturally be a migration from other provinces like the EC in the hope of getting employment. Apart from that great and insightful show.
Western Cape is not a country. Any South African from anywhere must go to the Western Cape if they so wish and there is nothing that you rich white boys can do to stop them.
Zuma is the former ANC president, he does not need to inflitrate ANC for him to have supporters in the ANC, butl I understand, when you are with whites you must talk nosense about Zuma to beg for their acceptance
Sandile,respectfully,100,000's of people coming to the Western Cape from the rest of the Country for better opportunities, even if they don't exist. Surely that plays a major part in the increased unemployment rate.
People are flocking in their thousands, more than any other province over the past few years. I am not a DA supporter but facts are facts, why dont your guest mention that ?
The DA never achieved the NDP prescribed 5.4% or the AU's 6% GDP growth rate. You never reduce unemployment before you get to 4% GDP growth rate anyway. Places that prosper attract population and go up to 7% to 13% GDP growth rate. Pay attention.
On the unemployment score I beg to differ with him. In 1994 the picture and the state of the national economy was different. The DA came into power 2009. In reality the unemployment problem comes from irresponsible and unsustainable ANC economic policies and political mismanagement.
Swana the DA does not do stats but Stats SA does the stats and which is run by the ANC. It says rhe Western Cape is best run and has better employment opportunities . The Western Cape province has a better employment rate compared to other provinces in South Africa. As of the third quarter of 2023, the Western Cape's unemployment rate stood at 20.2%, which is significantly lower than the national average of 31.9% . And besides it is not the job of a provincial government to trigger growth but the job of a national government . You could get an ANC job with that statement but not in a world where sanity prevails .
We have half of the Eastern Cape here in the WC. WC government need to build 27 new schools to cope with the influx. WC government works for me and I do not vote DA.
Rob Hertzof said he can grow the economy in 1 year... give him the chance 🎉 Maybe If the DA governed alone they could also grow the economy Get rid of the likes of ANC mkp eff because they are fkn clueless
Yes that is true. What he doesnt say is Gauteng was also near 5% but went to 35%.... Then one can simply look at other provinces run by the ANC to know whats going on... Swana does claim the DA says it reduced unemployment in the WC... a google search into the statements doesnt say that so Swana is lying about the claims.
I never said such nevertheless: According to the IMF’s outlook, it is only projecting GDP growth of 0.8% in 2024 - this is fractionally higher than the 0.7% seen in 2023, the worst year of load shedding on record.
Hey Zuma was never sick man.he was dancing for mshini wami after his release.he was actually for the destruction of the country because he is bitter .🎉🎉🎉

Swana says China is beating him at batteries.... Online evidence from users in China suggests otherwise where they compare Chinese cars to Teslas and they would prefer the Tesla products because they are far better. Anyway, Tesla makes cars and a minor amount of batteries, CATL and others may produce them cheaper and may be more advanced but that isnt the concern of Musk, Swana is making concerns up by inferring what he sees. Its debatable if its true
you reduce unemployment by not allowing unemployed people to come and settle in areas, that is why our number grew. Which other provinces have 5million people dumped in their province, very shallow comment.
As much as Hon. Swana’s analysis is clear, what he misses is that the EFF was not preforming well when it comes to votes, in 2018 the EFF could hardly win a municipality. The reason being that the EFF supports illegal immigration against the poor and the ordinary South Africans who are struggling for resources. Therefore I would believe that even without the formation of the MKP, the EFF was not going to perform well, though it would have maintained its third position after the DA. Secondly it does not follow that once we have a coalition, we will remain having coalitions, that is not always the case. Again to to think that everyone who went to the MKP joined for neferious reasons is not true, some, whom we might not know yet, joined the MKP for the cause, that cause we may or may not agree with but that is a fact. Not everyone is joining a party, whatever party for position only. There is no way you can build a successful party without material from other party/ies that has similar ideology to yours.
Numbers don't support what you are saying. EFF has councillors in every Municipality or Council in SA. They are well represented. EFF continues to outperform all xenophobic parties like PA. EFF had 1 882 480 votes in 2019 and 1 529 961 votes in 2024. That's 352 519 vote loss. This is predominantly from KZN where they got 79 211 votes falling from 349 361 (2019). That's a 270 150 vote loss (77% of total vote loss) EFFs fall from 10.8% to 9.52% is 1. Being blown out of proportion 2. Directly linked to MKP performance in KZN.

Until the title Comrade is universally seen as an embarrassment SA will not succeed.
Just nonsense what you done for County special at South Africa just shartup
DA has become a waist of time. Hiding behind the ANC. VOETSEK
Wasting time talking about Zuma is a waste of time. The ANC has a budge. They must use and deliver services.
The two of may die before he dies.
People are dom😂
That's a 270 150 vote loss (77% of total vote loss)
EFFs fall from 10.8% to 9.52% is
1. Being blown out of proportion
2. Directly linked to MKP performance in KZN.
