Wasn’t marrying Laenor considered a duty? If he couldn’t get her pregnant then that’s not her problem. She fulfilled her end of that duty. You can’t deny that.

I agree with you and I’m team Green. Rhaenyra was selfish, and made a lot of mistakes and was fine with a six year old being killed.
As far as Blood and Cheese is concerned we don't know how much Rhaenyra knew, or didn't know. Same goes for Daemon. Before Episode 10 we all thought Aemond killed Lucerys, although in retrospect that never made much sense. Same goes for Blood and Cheese. If Aemond killed Lucerys, why murder one of Aegon's sons in retribution? Yes, there's a theory that they're actually Aemond's sons, but the Blacks have no reason to suspect that. It seems a bit cowardly for Daemon. Not to mention when he finally does challenge Aemond it seems personal, like he has a score to settle.
More likely it's Mysaria's doing. Either that, or Aemond was the target but Blood and Cheese chickened out. Or they failed to kill Aemond and when escaping through the secret passageways they came across Helaena's chamber.

I personally think they are white washing the Blacks. In the books it was a rumor that Aegon II r*ped people and that he watched child fighting pits. But what wasn't a rumor is that Rhaenyra ordered Vaemond to be fed to her dragon Syrax. Aegon's coronation has ominous music playing and everyone looks upset while Rhaenyra's coronation had heroic triumphant music playing and Someone "nobly" risked they're lives to give her a crown. Also it was dumb af to make Rhaenyra fly in on the bridge with Syrax after a traumatic miscarriage. I bet they're going to make Rhaenyra also fly into battle with Syrax.
I don't really think Otto was at fault much here, Otto Knew the Realm would be divided and go to war With Rhaenyra Being Named Heir and being Queen, Especially after Having Bastards that would succeed her, Otto was Doing what was best for the Realm in my opinion.

That's a laugh. Otto suggested to Viserys to make Rhaenyra his heir, then almost immediately ordered his own daughter to seduce the king. Then when she gave birth to a son he began leaning on her to try and convince the king to name Aegon as heir. Then when he was reinstated as heir he immediately began plotting to steal the throne from Rhaenyra. Otto Hightower is single-handedly responsible for the Dance. Besides, House Hightower is closely allied to the Citadel, which means it was probably deliberate.
Otto claims that Rhaenyra would have killed Alicent's children to secure her own position. That is easily preventable. For starters, they could have made a marriage pact. Or Alicent could have sent one of her children to Oldtown, WHICH SHE DOES. If Rhaenyra can't kill all her sons it would be pointless to kill any of them.
@@Aewon84 Oto defiantly is a big part of the Dance, but he is not the single reason why it started. The King breaks centuries of traditions of Westeros to put his daughter as heir and enables her transgressions. RT returns the favor by breaking more traditions by having bastards kids as heirs. N moving children from one place to the next means nothing when Rt has a flying nukes with the dragons. Its easier to not have kids out of Wedlock, then it is to hide from RT and DT. Neither side of the war is good, their both pieces of shit teams.

Heirs since Aegon the conqueror had to follow the laws n traditions of the culture of Westeros, King law is not law. VT broke law by naming RT has heir, then RT broke another law with 3 bastards
(technically 5), then enforces a law to cripple or kill people that dares call them out. Laws n traditions can be broken slowly but not all at once like RT is doing. Kings and queens can’t do what they like unless the want civil unrest in the kingdom aka Joffrey and the Mad King.
5:02 The Deamon idea is what I've been thinking all along. There were so many silver haired people in Westeros at the time. She could have come to some arrangement, even if it's one heir. That would have been enough, instead of gaslighting the entire kingdom. People have eyes fgs! This is the biggest reason why I don't want her to sit the throne. It sets bad (immoral) precedence.

The big issue I think isn’t that rharnyra is irresponsible isn’t the biggest issue (though it is one), or that sexism is inevitable even without brothers around (though that is one too), it’s that aliscent had 3 sons. You can’t have a female heir in a sexist society when she has brothers
Granted being the first heir putting bastards on the iron throne doesn’t help her case either. I would also say another problem with Rhaenyra is that she wants to rule over a society that customs n traditions r against her lifestyle

for me it came down to how the show is portraying house of black and I CAN'T STAND SELF RIGHTEOUS HYPOCRITES who want to use the law to hide behind while breaking it at the same time.

They live in the same culture & it didn’t matter if Rhaenyra had legitimate kids like Otto said “The succession changed the moment king Viserys had a son” Men already had female heirs especially in Dorne, & it’s a lady who is ruling the Vale atm. The laws of the land already say if a man has no sons his daughter inherits his lands & titles. My thing is who’d be a better ruler Rhaenyra or Aegon? Rhaenyra would be a better ruler Alicent nor Otto can control Aegon & he’s a monster who does what he wants & they both have have to beat his ass to no change. Jace would also have been a better king than Aegon. I’m team black because Aegon is a drunk sex offender who can’t control his anger & would be a terrible king whereas Rhaenyra & Jace would rule well like Viserys & Jaehaerys. It’s no proof Rhaenyra would harm her siblings & be a kinslayer & she had a tight reign on Daemon she stopped him from fighting Otto & if you know the books he’s never done anything without her permission except Nettles. Bastards have been legitimized & ruled before or had a claim look at Ramsay Bolton & Gendry Baratheon & the Blackfyre rebellion so again it doesn’t change the culture. The fact that Otto is the one who told Viserys to name Rhaenyra his heir & bent the knee to her. Then sent his daughter to seduce the king so he could promote his grandson over her! Alicent is a terrible mother who hates Rhaenyra got to have good sex & make her own choices & she didn’t. My major problem with RT is she had 10 plus years to secure her claim instead she endangers her children, lovers, and herself constantly throughout the series. I'm also baffled by most of team Black fans of how biased they are to RT and dont judge her constantly as Alicent. RT would be a better ruler than Aegon to me, but that is not saying much. And final thoughts let be honest the TV SHOW MAKES AEGON A WHOLE LOT WORSE THAN HE ACTUALLY IS ALSO THEY MAKE ALICENT AND RHAENYRA ALOT NICER THEN THEIR BOOK COUNTERPARTS. @@jjosifovic I agree the show definitely paints Rhaenyra & Alicent much nicer than the books. Especially Alicent because they changed the whole tone of the green council. I’m not sure what people wanted to Rhaenyra to do? She said she tried to have kids with Laenor & Rhaenyra didn’t have a brother that Laenor was fucking to offer like Margaery. He couldn’t perform & do his duty so the fault lies with Rhaenyra for honoring their agreement? Alos Laenor & the Seasnake knew those kids wasn’t his by blood but he calmed them legally & loved them regardless that’s what makes them Velaryon.
Edit: I don’t agree about Aegon in the books he was also a drunken whoremonger who had bastards in KL & he celebrated Aemond for killing Luke on purpose & dismissed Otto for not acting as quickly & as bloody as he wanted. So I think the show portrays him exactly how he is in the books

Also do you think the show will have RT be a part of the Blood and Cheese scenario or will it be solely Damon?

I agree about the tea tho or she could’ve secretly hooked up with another member of house Velaryon. But I really don’t think it matters because Otto would’ve put Aegon on the throne regardless! & more than half the realm sided with Rhaenyra all Aegon had was Oldtown, the Westerlands, & the Stormlands so even most the great lords & ladies of the realm sided with Rhaenyra knowing about her kids even the honorable Starks of winterfell & Cregan Stark met Luke & got along with him seeing him & knowing he’d be the heir

This isn't between Rhaenyra and Alicent. It's between Rhaenyra and AEGON! There is no universe where Aegon II is a better ruler than Rhaenyra. And his spare is Aemond, who's basically an evil Daemon. Rhaenyra's heir is a good person, and would make a decent king. It doesn't matter that the Strong boys are bastards. This isn't like Cersei's bastards, who aren't related to the king. The Strong boys are all Targaryens. They are all dragon riders. Yes, Rhaenyra and Laenor could have tried harder. But that's a weak argument at best. We don't know how hard they tried. As for Margaery, nothing in the books or the show indicate that she tried any harder with Renly. If anything, she didn't even try in the books.
RT is the first women in the history of Westeros to be announced as heir to the iron throne and she has done nothing to secure her claim in 16 years. She gets her demented father to protect her from the laws she is suppose to govern, she gets her father to enact a law that if someone questions the parentage of her children they get their tongue cut out, and the entire realm believe she had her first husband murdered and believe her second husband murdered his wife. Rt has proven nothing about being a competent ruler the only thing the people of Westeros see and hear is someone that I just described.

As for Daemon, in George RR Martin's own words he's the greyest of grey characters. So yes, he's literally not evil.

Gendry was known PUBLICLY as a bastard of Roberts same as John Snow was known as Neds Bastard. Since their was no surviving true born Baratheons Dany made the easy choice of legitimizing a bastard. The King did nothing to address the issue of RT KIDS. The King and RT just closed their eyes, stick their head in the sand, and acted all shocked when people were against them.

Yeah the reason why I don't support her is because of the bastard thing. If she passes her claim (or even after she dies) towards her son with daemon then it would be another different story. But I cannot support a queen whose objective is to pass the throne to those bastards. I love the kids they're super cute and chivalrous but they're still illegitimate. In the middle ages bastards were bastards.

The king's word is law unless it contradicts a law that's beyond the power of his word.
No law can contradict a 'superior law' so to speak. If it does, then the 'inferior' is invalid. Don't know whether this only applies to states with a constitution or not though.

@@JustMe-vo5er actually you're right. Viserys himself was elected King over Rhaenys. Because the targaryen has this tradition that they favoured the male line over the female. Even aegon the conqueror is a perfect example of that, he married his older sister. So viserys in order to defend his daughter legitimacy over his younger brother aegon. He should have created a new succession law that the first child, if it were a son or daughter, would be the successor to the throne, however, he did nothing about it. I don't know if it was his blindness or his ignorance to the problem or if he thought that the power of love and friendship would solve everything. The Targaryens shaped westeros with their traditions and customs you cannot expect to change it at last minute just because one king did what he wanted instead of what he should have done as king that is naming the eldest son as heir. I don't understand why he did that though, he wanted so badly a son in the first episodes that when he has it, he just ignores him lmao. Not only one heir but three.
