Body mechanics! So important with everything physical we do. Including shooting. Good stuff!

This is how I do it. Bob Vogel calls it a "pinch grip." That thumb position and pressure is key. Biggest thing I notice is sights return to same spot so I can shoot faster.

Thanks Tim for this video. I have struggled with support hand shooting since I started shooting USPSA. This year I stepped up to Major power factor and simply could not shoot with my left (support) hand without having to rack the slid each time. I went to the range this weekend and tried this. I only had to rack the slid once (I got overconfident and went to fast) out of 25 rounds. I also hit all alpha's and Charlies at 7 yards. I was amazed. Now I just have to dry fire the heck out of it to make the transfers and grip to the point I can do it without thanking about.

Shit works! I've been taught and instructed on different techniques over a 30 year career on how to shoot one handed and Tim's technique by far is the best. Can't believe it took this long to find the right technique to feel confident and shoot accurately one-handed. Thanks Tim! (Blue Barrel Winner #3)

I've been doing this accidentally and wondering if it was a bad habit. I guess I'll lean into it

When you have to move like that do you fire within steps or having the front foot planted?

Do you recommend shooting minor in SS for anyone or should we roll with major? Thinking about getting into single stack but i have 12k 9mm reloading supplies and dies. Would need to get 45 bullets and dies to reload for major. Not a huge deal, just wondering if the major vs minor tradeoff was big enough?

Tried the thumb pressure on my CZ S2, doesnt work too well, as the beaver tail is contoured. Works great on my 1911s, wider b/t !!! As always, great info!

Tim, thank you for this! I’m currently working on getting better with shooting a factory G43 one handed. I can SHO and WHO a G19 with reduced overtravel, but am having a lot of difficulty with the 43, even with a mag extension and after 2 weeks of daily 100 rep dry fire. I push in with my thumb and am currently experimenting with pulling in with my fingers as well since the grip circumference is so small with the 43. Even in slow fire though, I’m still pulling shots left with my right hand and vice versa. Any suggestions on what else I can work on?

You’ve gotta work on full isolation of the trigger finger from the rest of the hand. It may come with increasing or decreasing overall tension slightly

@@TimHerronShooting Thanks for the advice! Definitely need to work on my consistency. In dry fire I can get an honest clean press *maybe* 2 out of 5 times. Hope I’ll be able to take a class with you next year. Thanks again!
