- This episode of SANDCAST: Beach Volleyball with Tri Bourne and Travis Mewhirter features one of the best and brightest teams in all of beach volleyball: Miles Partain and Andy Benesh. This is, honestly, maybe the best, most insightful, most vulnerable episode we’ve ever done, and I cannot recommend it enough. Miles Partain and Andy Benesh chat about:
- Their experiences and growth as professional beach volleyball players.
- They reflect on key moments in their careers, such as their first podium finish in Ostrava and the impact of certain matches - like wins over Anders Mol and Christian Sorum -- on their season.
- Their unique playing style of jump setting and optioning, and how it has evolved over time.
- Miles Partain’s struggles mentally, to the point that he viewed himself as a loser, and the revelations he’s had this off-season to completely shift the narrative he was telling himself
- The role of faith and belief in shaping confidence and manifesting success.
- The importance of learning from both wins and losses and the value of patience and growth over time.
Such a good one. Cannot recommend it enough.

Giving a platform for folks like Miles and Trevor Crabb to comfortably speak their minds and share their thoughts is super special. Love what this podcast provides!
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying!
Miles getting into content creation? wow that would be great. Love all the hard work from everyone fully invested in the beach volleyball world.
He just made his website public I think, and his Insta has been pretty solid during season as well
After watching this I can’t help but picture Miles after winning Huntington last year with no expression on his face, in his head telling himself “you just got lucky” lol.
That and a combination of him being the most humble guy ever. 😂
Great pod fellas.
haha exactly. Such an awesome kid. Stoked for what the future brings for him now that he has this new look on the game and life
When I first watched miles on the AVP in 2022, I was like “damn that kid has so much swag” and thought he must just be this young confident beach volleyball bro. Was not an accurate read lol but glad he is the way he is
haha it's so crazy to see what's really going on under the surface of world class performers
Great podcast! It’s rare to see 4 people be able to have a quality conversation like this and everyone contributed well without taking away from or talking over someone.
Myles shared a lot of valuable insight and personal experience shame on other people comment superficially
Agreed. Miles and Andy make for such good conversation -- the depth of topics is so fun
Gotta get those results in until you can get the sharpie out! Can not wait to see them out there in Tepic ❤
They've been sharpied for months haha
Grinlaubs/slack/schact were part of the early days innovations through 2000/04/08
Haven't heard of the Grinlaubs before!

Matt was the. GBR coach 2007-2011 ish. Queensland now I believe.
I did not know so many beach pros were rightwingers or mormons. Interesting and strange to see (speaking from a European perspective)
BYU's success indoors has established something of an LDS pipeline -- Lambourne, Jake Gibb, Casey Patterson, Betsi Flint, etc. It's a super interesting thing
miles is only 22 🤯
Pretty unreal right?
❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks as always brotha!
Miles,the reincarnation of Kent Steffes
haha we love them both
@@SANDCASTPodcast yes for sure 🤙🏼
Podcast or sermon 🤣
One and the same ;)

You hear a lot of Matureness in Miles.
Yes you do
I’m getting the vibe that Miles is a Trumpeter
He likened Trump and Jesus multiple times so I’d say that’s likely.
haha you might be right
More people should be!! Then we wouldn’t have such a horrible situation for our country
Who cares?
The sport is surprisingly religious and subsequently right leaning
