Biggest lesson i learnt in 2024 in the stock market is that nobody knows what is going to happen next, so practice some humility and low a strategy with a long term edge.

Every collapse brings with it an equivalent market chance if you are early informed and equipped, I've seen folks amass wealth amid economy crisis, and even pull it off easily in favorable conditions. That should be the least of your concern. Also explore the option of working with a CFA to reduce greatly your chances of loss. `

Coming out of facing alot, I knew two things about the stock market: It caused the Great Depression, and the fastest way to make a million on the markets was to start with two million. And then the Great Recession happened only a few years later. So yeah, I wish someone had better explained it to me earlier in life. Having a good entry and exit strategy will make you succeed in the stock market.

I am from India. Printing money is a great business for the US. You know who suffers? it's the 3rd world net exporting countries that suffer the most. Why? On an average, it costs 0.17 cents to print a 100 dollar bill. The US imports 100 dollars worth of goods and services for 17 cents. China, Japan, India etc have billions of American dollar reserves. In order to maintain dollar parity India had to build 700 billion dollar reserves, under normal circumstances this money would be in circulation. Today India faces US exported inflation and US exported liquidity issues.
China is buying gold instead of increasing American dollar reserves.
Bottom line, irresponsible printing is hurting several countries and not limited to low and middle income Americans

This was from the podcast with PBD 10 months ago. I would guess the reason Tom reposted this is because PBD gives a 10 month span on when the recession would start. He proposes that the Fed expected the interest rate hike to lead to economic contraction in August 2024 and rate would start getting lowered. The interesting point is that the Fed most likely WILL start easing this month so he was close.
Don't be mad about reposts you nerds. The info is still valuable.

Because of this it goes into convulsive spasms fighting to grow any way it can out of desperation. @BruceBerry-g4b หลายเดือนก่อน

@@littlehomeforest5972 Even at this late stage I am not qualified to answer. I would say to watch closely how the governments react with time. If people dump national currencies to escape inflation and businesses universally accept bitcoin for transactions then laws will be passed to inhibit bitcoin use.
The Western world governments are in a debt trap. The only way out is money printing. The day they stop printing money is the day they default and make their currency worthless. So bitcoin will not be allowed to become a major tool of business until the debt forces countries into hyperinflation and defaults.
Then bitcoin and gold will excel. But think about when taking on debt makes sense. Investments should bring progress and productivity, if it does then inflation goes down.
The trick is how it’s balanced and is it real. If it’s all financial transactions and money printing you get the false economy we have now. Real progress like computers, internet, space, etc..
Watch M2 over time and the percentage of social benefit payments vs total tax revenue.
It becomes a discernment not a judgement. Warren Buffet is good because of his intuition not his intelligence.
5 years ago the experts were ranting to buy T-bills at 2% because they were the only safe thing left. Last year those same bonds lost 40% of value because the Fed raised interest rates on T-bills by 100%.

His idea on asking Vegas cab and Uber drivers is a game changer. Everywhere I go in the world, I do this and learn so much. These guys don't realise how big an asset they are to future projections. I went to Dubai recently and was concerned that this was the first year that I had seen so much traffic going into the centre which was a definite reason not to buy property or at least not get a hotel far from the centre. However, the taxi driver also told me that they can build a bridge in days to weeks in comparison to the UK where that would take years. He wakes up in the morning and a new road is built! Guess what, automatically, Dubai is not off the list!

Same in SE Asia, they work day and night on roadworks in the toughest conditions, and get entire highways / bridges built in weeks. In our countries it can drag on for years.

Jim Rogers I was a famous investor, and he went literally all over the world. When he would end up in some random sketchy nation, the first thing he would do is go talk to prostitutes, because they always knew what was going on. They always knew if dignitaries and people were in town, and I think you know why. They had the real scoop on who is in town and why. He didn't want to talk to some self-serving Jackalope who thought he knew everything. He wanted to talk to the people who are right there on the ground who have no agenda.

A lot of Dubai's reasons for quick builds is down to abusing workers from other countries? Like yeah, amazing you built quick but at great cost to others. Who's to say in a few decades it will last? Dubai (and others in the area) are doing this out of pure panic for their economic future.

Absolutely correct. Super interesting and precisely stated information but only applicable to the top 22% of citizens. Not relevant at all to the 78%, who are only impacted by the outcomes of this focus on the upper middle class and above. For example stating unemployment as 3.88%, while accurate for the purposes of calculating the impact and outcomes of these Machiavellian skirmishes, has nothing to do with the applicable results to the vast majority. Ignoring these backroom/day trader/self-interested activities, the majority can simply contribute to society instead, conservatively secure their assets via the retention of assets independent of these manipulative systems.

The other thing Pat mentions is that was one option and the other being he is wrong because we never had interest rates fly up so fast in a short period. He ended up being wrong for August but now who knows, maybe the anomaly is just delayed by a couple months due to the new issue with rising rates never happening so fast like they did.

It depends on the terms and conditions of the contracts of those 2 jobs. Generally you run into the risk of double selling the same thing, typically specific hours of your time. If you have 2 jobs that contract wise is based around you giving them your hours in 9-5 on workdays, then selling those same hours to 2 companies could be concieved as fraud (you will need to check with a lawyer with speciality in an appropriate field to be close to sure on this). On the other hand if your jobs do not overlap timewise, then there really should not be a problem for most contracts, as you are basically selling 2 different pieces of time, albeit from the same source (you) to different costumers (employers).
If your contract is based around fullfilling responsibilities, such as salaried positions, or any above the first is not based directly on selling time, then it really depends on whether you can fullfill those responsibilities that you need to in your contract. If you can fullfill al those requirements they do not really have much ground to stand on in terms of fraud, because you are fillfilling the letter of the agreement and they are getting what they pay you for, assuming you can keep up your performance in such a situation. They might feel like you are being fraudulent though, simply because employers too often have overreaching expectations compared to what your contract technically qualify them for. This is basically the same kind of case where they get disappointed with employees who do not do free overtime and otherwise go above and beyond for them, as they have kind of gotten used to pressuring people into doing that for them. That also means that your relationship with your employer might suffer based on your failure to reach their overentitlement, should they find out, even though you might be within your legal rights to do such things.

Sounded like he was talking about a person billing two companies for the same hours worked, not working two individual jobs. If you work from home it would be possible to have two different companies think you are putting in the same 8 hour day for each. I don't think he was taking about working 16 hours a day from home for two different companies.

    • @AB-ol5uz

He's referring to people working 2 full time jobs at the same time or even subletting one FT job to a family member behind the scenes while they focus on another one - without EITHER employer knowing.
