When I was studying in Anantapur, I used to travel through this route. I tried a lot of times to keep myself awake during the journey, but could never catch a glance of Nallamala Forest in this route as all my trains were passing it in mid-night. Thanks a lot Srinivasarao garu, for this video. My long-term waiting has ended. I could see the most wonderful and beautiful Nallamala forest on this railway line. Some of the shots in the video are skillfully and tastefully captured. Wonderful photography skills.
Whenever I travel thru this route by Amaravathi Express (Train no-17225) to Hubli, I try to stay awake till midnight till I cross these two tunnels on the way. Because the forest, these tunnels, the old British bridge are the regular things that come in to my dreams many times. I try to enjoy getting down from the train when it stops in Chalama, Diguvametta stations in the mid night. I have many memories from The tales of Indian jungles by Kenneth Andersen (the hunter from from British Raj time) that haunt me always. Some of those tales are related to the Nallamala jungles also. Anybody with the same feelings about this beautiful nature..? In my childhood I used to travel thru this jungle in the steam engine trains..but those were the nostalgic moments. I missed them now. Srinivas garu, connect to me in mail, we will share many things. I am mailing you now.
What about old railway track and old railway stations and dorabavi viaduct during those days ?? How many stations were there between Nandyal- Giddaluru old meter gauge ?? Plzz tell me

I became very nostalgic after seeing this video. I spent a couple of years in that very area as a small boy. My father was a Station Master at Bogada railway station nearly 9 decades ago. Thanks a lot for giving me an opportunity to revisit that place although virtually.
@@Demonhunter-v9k No. I don’t have any photos of Bogada Rly Stn. It was a sort of flag stn. established only for operational reasons. If I remember correctly it was situated between Diguvametta and Chalama Stans. It looks it doesn’t exist now.
@@ExamsStudyUpdates I have only a hazy memory of Bogada Rly stn, as at that time I was only a boy of 7 or 8 years age. That was mid-thirties of last century. It was a small stn facing a hillock on one side and a valley behind. There was a thick jungle all around with no human habitation anywhere around. The Stn Master was provided a quarter and so was a gangman who was the only help available to the SM. A trolley was also there to travel on the track to watch for any boulders etc falling on the track. No train would stop at the stn except when requested. The M&SM Rly ( Madras & Southern Mahratta Rly)authorities supplied food and other essential items when needed. I don’t remember to have seen any tunnel there. There was a high bridge some distance away from the stn. I happened to pass under the bridge sometime ago while traveling by road from Markapur to Ongole.

The old MG had a hair-pin bend and an s-turn near Diguvametta station which were dismantled by construction of two tunnels for reducing height to 377 metres from 450 meters. I had an exhilarating experience in 1975 when I traveled from Guntur. The train started from Diguvametta only to stall in between owing to mist on the tracks in winter, We had to fetch sand and place on the tracks for 100 meters to enable the train to start after the driver tried in vain after the train slipped and stalled.
Thank you for the trip down memory lane. My dad tells me of the awesome meter gauge track along that route. Along with plenty of experiences dealing with wildlife crossing the tracks. Here is a shot of that station when it was still on meter guage: goo.gl/eWRvMp
One of the appropriate railway line with proper gradient & reasonable curves in the hilly jungle region. This line can save money in the form of less time & fuel as they are mainly straight in nature. Thus will give more speed to the locos. To me train Line should be straight in nature. It also makes journey more pictorial than curvey one.
@@পরিচয়-ঝ২য Theoretically that is true but not practical..like what if you go on a straight line and there are no villages /towns that the straight line touching..it's waste right?
