Bit of a special video today! Last Saturday I did a sponsored livestream for World Vision. They are a charity that helps kids in need. In the end we raised over $1500. In this video I cast a match of an 8-year-old girl who put her chore money together and donated $5 with a link to her replay for me to go ahead and cast. So sweet!
i remember when i first played SC, 4 years old and my uncle had it, god what a beautiful time and so many years have passed now im 15 almost 16 and still playing SC, and 2. what a lovely time it was, a very very lovely time
I think the play shaming was a little too much. 8 year old kid Lowko. I get that critiquing is hardwired in for you, but there is a time and place for everything. Kids donating money to you isn't one of them.
Thank you, everyone, for your kind words! She is so excited to play more and someday meet you all on the ladder!! Kids supporting Kids is the best! XOXO!

Hey. Lowko. Here in Indonesia, we have an NA platinum league 8 years old. His nickname is Jangbingo. There are some videos about him, just search here on youtube.
This is basically the same skill level as Grandmaster Protoss. But without jokes, this is wholesome, and awesome. Nothing but respect for UniKittenz. (Okay, maybe a bit of envy for that amazing name.)
I'm surprised this video did not start with Lowko saying how he thinks she is one of the strongest zerg players of all time and the terran ai is one of the strongest terran players of all time.
Starcraft: Brood War is among the very first PC games I encountered when I was a kid, around the age of 10 or so(don't really remember), along with CS and Populous: The Beginning. It was so fascinating watching all those unit moving around and the sound effects they made. I was there at the very first cyber cafe we had, standing for hours with my friends, just looking at the people playing the game. Not with the hundreds APM movement though. I was so shocked when I knew how pro played this game.
I played SC1 when I was 8. Played the first few Terran missions and then jumped to play a versus AI game as zerg... because they are cool and I struggled against them as Terran. Attacked by marines, I sent in my overlords, not realizing that you had to upgrade and put units in those for them to be able to "attack"... in my mind, I wasn't hitting the right button to make the overlords attack. :( Great cast Lowko.
I'm so sad I missed the stream due to a prior engagement, This has to be one of the sweetest things ever and it does give me hope for the future children with that attitude :D.
The thumbnail made me think this was a charity stream for overlords who lost their friends and family for the swarm in order to scout the enemy's main base
That front lair wold soak up all the damage while the queued up queens are produced and start punishing the attackers, until the lings come in to save the day and make a deadly counterattack.
Wow these where some next level strats, i wouldnt be surprised if she wins blizzcon in 2020! But seriously, this was a lot of fun to watch, i had a big smile on my face the whole time :)
When I first play the zerg campain in SC1 , it took me 1 week to know know that overlord give you supply to make more unit :D for the whole week I was trying to finish the first mission with 12 zerglings :D (I was also 8 back then)
I remember me having 8 years... learning english from StarCraft and Tibia,to understand what the heck is buy, sell, trade, barracks, factory etc. With dictionary making list of words i need to understand ... many years later, being on medical studies i smile seing Tibia Fibula and insect names simillar to zerg units .. :D
Not to rag on this generous little girl. But my 6 year old plays on very hard-expert. Depending on the race he picks. As a Terran main I don’t understand how I’m raising a Zerg main.

this is so wholesome i fucking love what your doing and love that you are helping children in need of homes en ik wens je nog een fijne dag (dutch at the and:and have a nice day)
What a pitty I wasn't at that stream... But after I heard what you said that girl said I was smiling for about 18 minutes u made my day even if its night now. Thank you :)
Nice to see a content creator who actually uses their platform for charity, not just the typical sound byte and call for a donation ( #virtuesignal) but a full video.
So hard game to cast I think. I was sitting there and just like OMG what's going on? Hope in something like 10 years we'll see her in you cast again as a player winning GSL or something along those lines =) and then she'll watch this game and may be even cry a little. I definetely would
She's better than me, in both SC2 skills and kindness of heart... But any case, this is very nice, and I will try to do a bit more on my part later on.
I remember when I started playing StarCraft and lost to the very easy ai because of the two marine plus a marauder push😂 I was 14 too, she's already in a better position than me

The fact that this video exists is straight up amazing.
