Have always loved this song of praise. It stirs the soul no matter what situation you are in at the time of hearing it. So thankful for my Savior and guide. Jesus.
The Lord asked me to sing this song in my Non Denominational church. I will though I don’t usually solo. In listening to this and other SA songs just balling; the Lord set my perspective right…He corrected me in great love, “Daughter, your covenant is with me…not The Army. It has always been with me.” He’s so good
ONE OF MY MODT FAVOURABLE HYMNS...GROWING UP AS A SALVATION army SOLDIER...this makes me cry but it,s joyful TEARS.I still feel from the hymn what I felt growing up in Northern Newfoundland in the fifties.God bless you all.Never give up!
Yes & no. I played baritone, and coronet. But ended up as the pianist for 15 years. Also lead timbrels for 3 years. Quite unusual for a guy, but there was no one else.
I Really Miss the Really Really old time Army Songs that are Hardly Sung now days and Also miss the Open Airs on a Sunday Night and the Marches Back to the Army Hall and the Evening 6pm Meetings
May this tune and these words burn themselves into the hearts and souls of many of Christ's people, and so prepare them for His soon coming. Maranatha!
When it was the centenary of Rochdale Citadel the corps marched through the town up the hill to the Parish Church. The senior band led off then, slap bang in the middle of town the YP Band, in which I played E flat bass, struck up this song.It was one of those hair raising moments. The entire corps Marching along to O Boundless Salvation. Just the simple hymn tune arrangement played by these youngsters in the swinging sixties. Hells foundations must have been shaking. Our Saviour rejoicing. Simple arrangement occasionally imperfectly played and believe me, the Staff Band could not have moved the Spirit more.
My favourite song it was sung at my fathers funeral at Easter of this year. Was also a request at our farewell meeting before we moved to the other part of the country. It’s a killer for the band though if all 7 verses are played 😝
Che dio vi benedica grandemente tutti ora e in eterno gloria eterna a dio padre gloria eterna a Gesù cristo gloria eterna allo spirito santo nei secoli dei secoli senza fine amen alleluyia
My father use to go to the salvation army in idle uk he could sing o boundless salvation ,he got a bit disolutioned not with the old general but with some of the soldiers remembering what the old generaluse to say many a Saint under a bowler hat and many a devil under a salvation army bonnet , that was the company guard
As and ex salvo, I haven't lost my faith in Christ, just in the army. I've seen too much in my corp to ever think of being part again. Too much theft of property & money by staff, and denial of help for the needy because of lack of said property & funds. Turned my stomach.
JF////// I was an officer once but was a 'fish out of water'. No spiritual input as promised. Then I found out Jesus was a composite person, so left Christianity. Growth means you sometimes have to leave the past behind.
The founders song just watched a interview with General Linda Bond screemimg get back to basics make the crest the central focus of the hall oh and the bonnet needs to be revived it goes make me laugh that the Bible says women must have their head covered in church yet the men always have their cap on!new and Old Testament gone wrong
So much needed for our Army. O Boundless Salvation, so rich and free.... Love and prayers from Janet xxx

Although 60 y6ears since leaving the army, I have never lost the love of the music, this brings a tear to my eye.
The words of the second verse, helped me to change my life around and devote it to the Lord. Praise his name.

As an ex Salvation Army member, this is one thing I sincerely miss about the army. We always had such excellent music.
Did you have a brass band in your corps? I'm in the Salvation Army, but my corps has totally modern music.
Nacho Mamma i'm an ex member and I feel the same way as you.
Yes & no. I played baritone, and coronet. But ended up as the pianist for 15 years. Also lead timbrels for 3 years. Quite unusual for a guy, but there was no one else.
The Army has some of the best brass bands in the world.

CJ//// Much more likely we will go see Him. Remember Harold Camping.
Amen and praise the Lord. All seven verses of the founders song.Dont hear them allmuch anymore. If it's worth singing let's sing it all.

It's wonderful!! Our Salvation Army is always fotward
Not everyone will appreciate this but it strikes a chord with me
That bass of course reminds me of Daddy. You could always tell it was him playing, especially with the runs. Such sweet memories ❤
I love these hymns. Good old Sally Army!
Wonderful song🙏🏻
My sins they are many, their stains are so deep.
And bitter the tears of remorse that I weep
These are the words that truly helped me.

I agree, as an ex cornet and tenor horn player I know good music when I hear it xox
Brilliant!!!
Was played when my Joy was promoted to Glory. Officer asked me if I knew last verse. I did and proved it. Most moving of all the Army songs.
Love the Salvation Army.
This is #509 in the newer song book !! God bless

The Founders song - I sometimes wish I still believed myself :(
Still believe. Jesus words are as true today as yesterday. Turn to Jesus. He will still love you. Doubt no longer . Believe in Jesus.

James Flack i so love the commitment
I so love the commitment of the soldiers together we are one

thats what it is all about
I like sing
I was told this is the theme song to the Salvation Army. I think William Booth would have chosen Onward Christian Soliders as the theme song instead.
Interesting the girls sing the verse "My tempers are fitfull"

What I was trying to say was getting back to basics as Linda bond portrayed before her disappearance the Army will grow
Nice one army
Have to ask nacho momma Why an ex SA member.
