Overnight sail-canoe mini-adventure

- Sleeping aboard at anchor, some great sailing in SW Cornwall, a hidden chapel in the Oak woods and some lovely old sailing vessels. An overnight trip has been overdue in the canoe, so I finally got out for a few days during the recent hot weather. Sailing canoes are easy to store, transport and launch. Being a 'canoe', launch fees (if any) are minimal and the shallow draft gives you access to quieter waters, away from the crowd. Most canoes can be adapted for sailing, some for sleeping in. As with any small vessel, care should be taken to learn safe seamanship, check tide/weather forecasts and take appropriate safety equipment. The result will be a far more rewarding experience. The music is a wheeled fiddle (played by me).
Good stuff.
The music just made me think of Firefly (can't take the sky from me!).
Perfect little trip.
Firefly was great. I reckon it's the graunchy tone.
I really enjoyed watching this 👍 great sleep aboard
Thanks Jarrod. It was a lot of fun.
The music fits perfect with the sailing surroundings.
It took a while to find something that matched, so thank you.
Wonderful sailing trip❤️
She's a proper little stable adventurer John... well done! I went back and checked your build too... great 'iteration' going on there mate... feeling your way into perfection is the key... getting her exactly how you want is the reward! Like you I've been watching Dominic 'craft' his Proa into a multi purpose roll up tender as well as a little adventurer/racer so checking yours out now widens my options... thanks mate... crack on. SUBD! She's outstanding!
Awesome glad you like her. Yes Dominic's channel is fab. I'm looking into getting a Wharram and he's a down to earth guy. Welcome aboard.
@@johnnyT428 Big fan of the Wharram's so much luck with that John! Mark (Wildling Sailing) is a good watch too... but it is looking highly likely that I have just been given my very own 43ft Bermudan Yawl... pretty much stripped and abandoned but just possibly salvageable with a bit of ingenuity, graft and luck! No tender... hence the interest in building one rather than buying a clapped out old outboard and inflatable. The International DIY University (TH-cam) usually provides alternatives of course! 👍
Lovely bit of thin water the upper Helford.
Isn't it, and always quiet.
Simplistic perfection !
Indeed that's how I see it. 🙂
I must find this little gem of a chapel one day... 💗
It's between Helford village and Frenchman's creek.
@@johnnyT428 your videos are getting proper pro now John! 5 star 🌟 🤩
@@Rabbitunderground Haha cheers. Things have gone up a gear. 🙂
