I have a garage under my split level ranch here in VT and it’s been challenging to get my air and vapor barrier continuity around that to separate the living space from the garage space. I’m hopeful in future videos as the project progresses you’ll show us those details.

Envirostrap and In So Fast make EPS wall foams with studs inside. The AMVIC ENVIROSHEET has either plastic or wood studs and either flush or proud, so it could be on exterior for rainscreen or interior for wall cladding. Glues to the concrete wall ( no framing)

If I also add a plastic layer under the ridgid foam, will it work for radon mitigation? Is it better to add plastic under or on top of foam?

I like the poly layer on top of the foam so that when I start to place concrete the concrete doesnt get between the foam and start to float my foam. Ask me why I like this method?

Subterra-Plus is rated for a radon barrier if the seams are taped. That may eliminate another layer to detail.

Does this stuff prevent bugs from tunneling through it better than other rigid foam?

Wouldn’t it be easier to use ICF to maintain continuity with the insulation?

Potentially. The issue is then you have to protect the ICF on the exterior side of the wall.

The radiant barrier on that is almost useless with all that labeling printed on it, jeeze your never going to see it after it's covered up, seems like they care more about advertising than insulation.
