It is truly amazing how many people read into something that isn't there. I am not under the law, so I don't have to tithe. I have some questions for BBN and Pastor Ralph Yankee that I hope you are willing to answer. I love your stand on Eternal Security and exposing Calvinism and I am in total agree with you. 1. Who did The First Generation Gentile Christians Tithe to? *Meaning the First Gentiles who became Christians after Jesus's Death, Burial, and Resurrection like Cornelius who Peter Ministered Salvation to in the book of Acts. 2. Who did The Children of Israel Tithe to after the Temple and Storehouse was Destroyed in 70 A.D. by the Romans? 3. When did The Tithe Change From Being Crops and Cattle to Silver, Gold, Coins, Cash Money and Checks? I look forward to reading your answers to these questions of mine. May the Lord continue to use you in your Ministry.
Tithing doesn't mean to your local church or this and that ministry, per se. It is to those in need. Like Paul and other apostles were. That's why Paul asked for them to collect money before he got there in I Cor 16. No pressure politics regarding giving. We will give an account to God alone in how and where we give our resources (if you don't have money, you give what you can, even if that is your time and energy). You have to submit this stuff to God and HE will show you. I used to tithe to my church but now I wait for His leading, give, and write it out in my tithe book (I consider this to be the bare minimum of my giving). But I would never tell someone to do that because they need to follow God's leading...Truly follow it. Without justification.
A couple of questions: Do we have a priesthood today that should receive our tithes? Are we to assume that the elders of a Christian assembly are in the place of the priesthood? If they are not, who are we instructed to pay this tax (tithe) to? Just because Abraham gave a tenth of everything to Melchizedek, under no compulsion of the law, are we expected to follow his example? Just because Jacob, of his own accord, promised a tenth, are we now bound by his promise? Biblical figures did many things pre-Law. Are we to do those things as well? Animal sacrifices, various rituals, etc..? If the total amount of tithes for an Israelite exceeded 10%, why are we not responsible for the full amount? Are New Testament Gentile believers, who would probably be ignorant of the Law and Jewish tradition, ever told to to tithe? Why is it that I have never heard of a pastor asking for fruits, nuts, and other agricultural products? Am I to donate the first tenth of what my garden yields, as the Israelites did, or is only cash king? The Israelites were allowed to convert their tithe into cash if they lived too far from Jerusalem, the location of the priesthood they were supporting. If I just live down the street from the meeting place of my local assembly, should my tithe be given in it's original state without having to sell it at market first for cash? Is there a single instance in the Bible where someone, other than the children of Israel, is commanded to tithe? Is there an example of a non-priest receiving a tithe? and finally: If the elders of my local assembly are gluten intolerant, and I am a wheat farmer, what should I do with my tithe?
The title of the video is "Why 'I' (Dr. Arnold) Tithe." These disparaging comments are surprising; did you folks actually watch the video? He clearly states, right up front, that he's not under the law, nor is he trying to put anyone else under the OT law. He's appears to be stating that HE uses the ancient Biblical example of a tenth as a measure of how he chooses to give. Long before I heard this message I came to trust the Lord with my financial increase by using the standard of the tenth, and I've never regretted it. The Lord has truly blessed me in myriad ways, but as it relates to my trusting Him with my finances by the standard of the tenth, the greatest blessing is having been set free from the fear of financial insecurity.
When will men of God please get this right...I've lived through this legalistic tithing nonsense, It breaks my heart to hear such a mis-guided message. The very air we breath belongs to God and all we have is His. We are not called to give by compulsion but from the heart on all occasions as we are prompted. Why is it many preachers are given over to this notion of 10%, and they use the same verses of scripture pointing the guilt finger at believers by bringing condemnation to those who don't tithe. The tithe he mentioned in all the verses quoted throughout the Old and New Testament does not mention money!!!! Please STOP twisting Gods beautiful word and go back and preach the truth.
Amen, tithing is old testament LAW and had nothing to do with money whatsoever, it was a 10th of produce or cattle for the levitical priesthood, because they didn't have any inheritance among the tribes. All the scriptures in the new testament about giving were referring to the ministering to the needs of fellow believers, not to line a pastors pocket, this nonsense has to stop!
Graham Champion Amen brother Graham, thank you for showing the truth here > so important for believers, especially babes in Christ to know the difference between law and grace, God bless you
@Brad Nadeauthis is what I have always been saying.. They have a love for money.. There are few who have great wisdom but the love of money is the problem.
My Pastor and his wife is angry with me because I don't give tithe. He told me that I must not call him as my Pastor anymore. He nearly considered me as a goat and not a sheep. He told me to analyze myself if I am really a Christian. He is thinking that I am unsaved.
tithing is under the law-no where did jesus or apostles ever talk of tithing--and the only time paul spoke was to say give according to your heart--if we go back to law we are fallen from grace.
lets just says this.....tithing is not giving and if one tithes then they must and should follow all the OT format and what they tithed and when and how much. which not one church in the USA does. we should give as they state in the NT which is of the heart and what we decide after we have first met our own familys needs and then according to our ability.tithing was 4 tithes for a total of 23.5 %, not some 10% as most say. plus only farmers and herdsman tithed and all others did not and they instead received the tithe and did not tithe. plus in malachi tithing is called an ordinance and jesus in the NT nailed them to the cross so what gives anyone the right to practice what jesus died for to end and pull it off the cross. we should give but cheerfully. not some mandatory tithe or else proposition.
Was really liking this pastor until I heard this message. Time to listen to another Pastor. Tithing is for Israel the nation of Israel. The church of christ is not a country.. I recently found this channel and I have heard several sermons without "complaints " There are other people commenting with details on tithing being for the past so I am not going to repeat it. Since this sermon was done 4 years ago from today Feb 2019. Have you revised your stance on the subject?
Wow...It's amazing at the comments here. Do y'all think you can ever out give God? Who do you think gives you the ability to work and has blessed you with a job?...God has. But keep your money if that's what's important. If 10% is going to make or break you. Most of you probably blow more than that on junk or foolish things. But that's ok. I believe there will be rewards for those that do give and don't begrudge it.
>>> A Tither's Checklist based on GOD'S WORD... Be sure to check the Tither's Checklist before paying your "tithe." Make sure it complies with The Law of Moses, the Word of God, where God established commanded tithing. Concerning your tithe; 1. Comes from the Promise Land. Lev. 27:30, 32, Neh. 10:37. 2. Is fruits, vegetables and clean livestock. Lev. 27:30, 32, Num. 18:27, Num. 18:28, Deut 12:17, Deut. 14:22, Deut. 14:23, Deut. 24:21, Deut. 26:12, 2 Chron. 31:5, 2 Chron. 31:6, Neh. 10:37, Neh. 13:5, Mal. 3:10, Matt. 23:23, Luke 11:42. 3. Is paid to a Levite. Numbers 18:21-24. 4. Is three tithes totaling about 23 1/3%. Tithe one; Leviticus 27:30-33, Tithe two; Deuteronomy 14:22-27, Tithe three; Deuteronomy 14:28-29. 5. You live on the Promise Land while you pay the tithe. Deuteronomy 12:10. 6. You are not a Gentile. Leviticus 27:30-34; Psalms 147:19-20. 7. You are a physical descendant of Abraham and Sarah, and of Isaac, Jacob/Israel living under the law of Moses. Psalms 147:19-20. 8. If temporarily converted to money, is not paid in the form of money, and you buy what you want to buy with the money. Deuteronomy 14:22-27. 9. The money is converted to wine, strong drink, food, and what ever you desire to buy with the money that you share with a Levite and his family at the feast where God has placed His name on the Promise Land. Deuteronomy 14:22-27. 10. Your pastor can prove he is authorized to receive a tithe, and that he personally owns the tithe, and that it is his inheritance, and it has been taken from the Levites and given to him. Numbers 18:21-24. 11. You tithe because you are living under the Law of Moses, and not the New Testament. Numbers 18:21, Acts 15:24, Malachi 4:4 12. Your pastor is claiming you must pay tithes because Abraham did, Jacob said he would, or your pastor said so, when God has NOT said so. Ezekiel 22:28, Lamentations 3:37. CONCLUSION... >>> Does this sound like the "tithe" your pastor is telling you that you must pay him every Sunday? NO? ...THEN DON'T PAY IT; you're being robbed by thieves who God has NOT given the right to take tithes from anyone. AND... GOD SAYS "USE TITHE MONEY TO BUY WINE AND WHATEVER YOUR HEART DESIRES TO BUY WITH IT." If we are supposed to be tithing money, or tithing at all for that matter, as tithing teachers claim; why are we not supposed to be doing what God says with the tithe money? Like this... 1. Do not pay the tithe in the form of money. Keep the money in your hand (bind it to your hand) until you... 2. Buy wine with it. 3. Buy strong drink (harder liqueur) with it. 4. Buy livestock and other food. 5. Buy whatever you desire, whatever you lust after. 6. Share what you buy with a Levite and your family. 7. Only convert your tithe money back to fruits, vegetables and clean live stock, etc., at the location you will share it with a Levite if it is too far to transport it in the form God says it is to paid in. 8. Eat your tithe with the Levite. 9. Learn to fear and respect the Lord by doing one through eight above. >> Why don't tithing teachers tell their faithful tithers this?... > ref.; Deuteronomy 14:22-27 22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year. 23 And thou shalt eat before the Lord thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the Lord thy God always. 24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the Lord thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the Lord thy God hath blessed thee: 25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the Lord thy God shall choose: 26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the Lord thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household, 27 And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee. OR THIS... 1. Tithe every third year, NOT EVERY WEEK, as churches falsely claim. 2. Keep the tithe behind your gates (keep it at home), don't bring it to church. 3. Take care of the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates. 4. Share some with a Levite. >> Why don't tithing teachers tell their faithful tithers this?... > ref.; Deuteronomy 14:28-29 28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates: 29 And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.
TITHING BEFORE THE LAW... Concerning Abraham and his one time tithe... I find it interesting, perhaps even suspicious, that tithing teachers claim that we should tithe BECAUSE Abraham tithed, BUT NOT AS Abraham tithed. How very convenient! If we are to tithe BECAUSE Abraham tithed, then logically, and if Abraham is to be our example concerning tithing, we should also tithe AS Abraham tithed; unless you can find a scripture that says; "Tithe because Abraham tithed, but not like him" - 1 Nonsense 3:1. Abraham also circumcised before the law; should we circumcise also, why just tithing? ... and Abraham gave all he was in possession of (not just 10%) which was property he didn't own; should we do the same, tithe as Abraham did, on other people's property? Also, where does the word of God instruct anyone to "tithe because Abraham did?"...NOWHERE; not to anyone in the Old or New Testaments. Abram, and his one time tithe to Melchizedek, is NEVER used in God's Word as a reason for, or example of tithing. Abram's tithe in Genesis 14 was a non-compulsory tithe. Abraham gave a tenth to Melchizedek of his own free will. The voluntary nature of Abram's tithe counteracts arguments that would link his tithe to any form of compulsory giving on a regular basis. >> Here is how Abraham tithed... 1. The example of Abraham is not a normative pattern; some people claim that tithing is required because Abraham gave a tenth to Melchizedek, and he lived before the Mosaic covenant (the Law) was in place. Such an example hardly prove tithing is for all time, however. Abraham’s gift to Melchizedek was a one-time event; there is no evidence he regularly gave God (or anyone) a tithe. 2. Abraham tithed on the spoils of war (which would be illegal under the Law, which is the tithing system, rules and procedures GOD ESTABLISHED; God did not establish a system of tithing outside of the Law of Moses, the Torah. There is no such a "second tithing system" in the Old or New Testament). 3. Abraham tithed by paying 10% to a Priest, Melchizedek, and the remaining 90% he gave to a pagan King (and some to his men); in Abraham's case, to the King Sodom. 4. Abraham tithed one time (no record of Abraham ever tithing before or after, and no record of him teaching Issac to tithe or anyone else...Abraham was not a tithing teacher). 5. Abraham tithed without being commanded to do so. God never held Abraham responsible for tithing, and did not tell him to do so. We have no record of any such command from God to Abraham. 6. Abraham tithed on things he didn't own. Some of which were Lot's property ("And he gave him tithes of all." - Genesis 14:20). 7. And, possibly, Abraham tithed human beings taken in his rescue of his Nephew, Lot. 8. Abraham tithed directly to a Priest, NOT to a church, tithing teacher or TV Evangelist. Also, he didn't tithe to an organization, but rather to a person; Melchizedek. 9. Abraham tithed because of a ONE TIME special event; the slaughter of the Kings upon rescuing Lot, his tithe was not a regular weekly event. 10. God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision, yet tithing, not given by God, is held in higher priority by tithing teachers than a God-ordained covenant; the covenant with Abraham was confirmed with circumcision, not tithing. 11. Abraham tithed to a KING, Melchizedek; are we to treat pastors as KINGS and the church they oversee as a "Kingdom run by a KING?" 12. Since God NEVER called the Children of Israel to tithe based on Abraham tithing to Melchizedek (there is NO SCRIPTURE commanding the Children of Israel to tithe as Abraham did), the very Abraham who was the Father of their Nation, and HIGHLY revered; why would God instruct the New Testament Church to "tithe as Abraham did?" 13. Abraham tithed to Melchizedek, thus according to Hebrews 7:5-8, proved and established that Melchizedek was superior than Abraham; when we tithe to a pastor or other person, are we to then conclude they are superior to us? 14. That is "Abrahamic tithing" ...AND WOULD BE ILLEGAL UNDER THE LAW, and the Law (or reference to the Law) is the ONLY PLACE God has ever commanded tithing. 15. And, how and where does scripture say that Abraham's tithe was an "eternal law," and why weren't the Israelites tithing BEFORE the Law, since Abraham's tithe was supposed to be some kind of "eternal law" and was before the Law of Moses, the Torah? Where is it recorded in scripture that Israelites tithed before the Law and did so because of Abraham tithing? Nowhere. 16. Abram's tithe didn't come from the Promise Land, it came from spoils of war from Sodom and Gomorrah. In God's system of tithing, any tithe from outside the Promise Land was illegal. Genesis 14:11-12... "And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way. And they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed." >> Tithing is not a New Testament doctrine; there is no such thing as "New Testament tithing," or "Tithing under grace." If tithing was required and taught in the New Testament for Christians, it would have to be clearly detailed and outlined in the terms and conditions of the New Testament like all promises and commands of the New Testament are. Tithing instructions would be clearly included in the New Testament. No such terms, conditions or details are outlined anywhere in the New Testament. >> Tithing teachers enjoy pulling out highly selective sections of scripture to fool their followers into handing over their "tithe" money. That is called taking scripture out of context to deceive. They love the "BECAUSE" part, they hate the "AS" part. >> THE WORD OF GOD warns us to be careful and alert... "That we from now on be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;" - Ephesians 4:14
MALACHI CANNOT BE USED TO INSTRUCT ANY CHRISTIAN TO TITHE... > Malachi 1:1 - Malachi is speaking to the Nation of Israel, not the New Testament Church. Audience context must be recognized and adhered to. "The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi." > Malachi 1:6 - Malachi is speaking to the Nation of Israel and the corrupt Priests of Aaron that despise God's name, not the New Testament Church. "...saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name." > Malachi 2:1 - The command to bring a portion of the Temple tithe to the Temple storehouses to support the porters and singers is to the corrupt Priests of Aaron, not the New Testament Church. "And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you." (cross ref. Nehemiah 10:37-39). > Malachi 3:9 - This verse makes is very clear that the God robbers were from the Nation of Israel, not the New Testament Church. "Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation." Note: "THIS whole nation (the Nation of Israel who Malachi is addressing)," not the New Testament Church. The New Testament Church is NOT the Nation of Israel. Also, the Nation of Israel were called by God to return to Him, which for people under the Law of Moses means to return to obedience to the Law of Moses.... "Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts." - Malachi 3:7 > Malachi 3:10 says to bring the tithes INTO THE STOREHOUSE...NOT STOREHOUSES...STOREHOUSE...NOT STOREHOUSES. There was only ONE STOREHOUSE for tithes to be stored at the Temple, and it was destroyed in 70AD. NOWHERE does God call New Testament churches "STOREHOUSES to be tithed to." > In Malachi 3:15 God called testing him "wicked," but permitted only in this case for the Children of Israel to test him; Malachi 3:15, Deuteronomy 6:16, Exodus 17:2, Numbers 14:22, Matthew 4:7, 1 Corinthians 10:9] > Malachi 4:4 - The people who Malachi was talking to and addressing, the Nation of Israel, are under the Law of Moses, Malachi's commandments on tithing are based on the Law of Moses, not the New Testament which contains no commandment for anyone to tithe. New Testament Christians are not under the Law of Moses where God established tithing for the Nation of Israel, and have no guidelines for tithing. "Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments" (cross ref. Romans 6:14, Galatians 2:16, Galatians 2:21, Galatians 3:10, Romans 7:1-6, Ephesians 2:15, Acts 15:10, Acts 1524). >> The Book of Malachi cannot be used to instruct a Christian to tithe, to do so is a false teaching and taking the Book of Malachi out of proper scriptural context. New Testament Christian "tithers"...financial slaves and victims of whom they tithe to. AND... MALACHI 3:10 DOES NOT... ...DOES NOT Instruct any Christian to tithe. ...DOES NOT Instruct the tithing of money from income; AKA, monetary tithing. ...DOES NOT Address New Testament Believers. ...DOES NOT Authorize any New Testament minister to collect tithes in any form. ...DOES NOT Require a Gentile to tithe, or a New Testament Christian to tithe anything at anytime to anyone.. ...DOES NOT Require any tithe to be surrendered that does not come from the Land of Israel. ...DOES NOT Assign any tithe given to anyone by God, including the tithe given to the Tribe of Levi, to any person under the New Testament. ...DOES NOT Promise great wealth to any individual. ...DOES NOT Address any individual, but rather addresses the Nation of Israel. ...DOES NOT Provide curses against any Christian for not tithing. ...DOES NOT Command anyone to "pay a tithe" to anyone for any reason; it instructs that the tithe of the tithe (1/10th of the tithe) is to be transported to the Temple storehouse in Jerusalem; nowhere else. ...DOES NOT apply to anyone who is not under the Law of Moses living on the Promise Land. Anyone referring to Malachi 3:10, or any other scripture speaking of tithing, as authorization to collect tithes from anyone under the New Testament, IS A LIAR. AM I WRONG? If so, prove me wrong WITH SCRIPTURE, otherwise you have no argument. New Testament Christian "tithers"...financial slaves and victims of whom they tithe to.
It is evident you did not listen to the complete message in context. I never told people to tithe, never said the church was under any law to tithe. I said tithe simple means tenth of anything. For my own satisfaction and clarity of mind, I believe that it is still a good way to give under grace, because I WANT TO, NOT BECAUSE I HAVE TO. The church is not under the law to tithe but should give as God has PROSPERED him. What is your method? I also told my people I give more than a tithe. I am not a slave just because I determine how much I choose to give, pray, witness or study the scriptures. However, Paul did say in Eph, 4:1 that he was a love slave of the Lord. Someone put a burr under your saddle but it wasn't me. Stop reading into what you want people to say. Yankee

Is there an example of a non-priest receiving a tithe?
and finally:
If the elders of my local assembly are gluten intolerant, and I am a wheat farmer, what should I do with my tithe?
The title of the video is "Why 'I' (Dr. Arnold) Tithe."
These disparaging comments are surprising; did you folks actually watch the video?
Graham Champion thank you Brother AMEN! 👍
Graham Champion that's a BIG AMEN Brother 👍
Graham Champion Amen brother Graham, thank you for showing the truth here > so important for believers, especially babes in Christ to know the difference between law and grace, God bless you
@Brad Nadeauthis is what I have always been saying.. They have a love for money.. There are few who have great wisdom but the love of money is the problem.
My Pastor and his wife is angry with me because I don't give tithe.
He told me that I must not call him as my Pastor anymore. He nearly considered me as a goat and not a sheep. He told me to analyze myself if I am really a Christian. He is thinking that I am unsaved.
I'd leave that church.
tithing is under the law-no where did jesus or apostles ever talk of tithing--and the only time paul spoke was to say give according to your heart--if we go back to law we are fallen from grace.
VERDE VALLEY Amen.....hits nail on head, the law condemns
lets just says this.....tithing is not giving and if one tithes then they must and should follow all the OT format and what they tithed and when and how much. which not one church in the USA does. we should give as they state in the NT which is of the heart and what we decide after we have first met our own familys needs and then according to our ability.tithing was 4 tithes for a total of 23.5 %, not some 10% as most say. plus only farmers and herdsman tithed and all others did not and they instead received the tithe and did not tithe. plus in malachi tithing is called an ordinance and jesus in the NT nailed them to the cross so what gives anyone the right to practice what jesus died for to end and pull it off the cross. we should give but cheerfully. not some mandatory tithe or else proposition.
Wow this is perfectly stated..
Was really liking this pastor until I heard this message. Time to listen to another Pastor. Tithing is for Israel the nation of Israel. The church of christ is not a country.. Cristian gave offering not tithing. So sad I us to like this pastor a lot.. God bless him I and I hop the Lord will teach him the rigth way that cristian dont tithe.
Valeria Vega Mora amen Sister 👍
Ralph also Perverts Genesis 6:1-4 he denies the nephilim as well, dunno how he can know half if he rejects that...he alo NEVER exposes heratics theres alot he doesnt know..
@@mindquest1 why, he never said you had to tithe, he said it's on your conscience between you and God.. doesn't mean you're not saved if you don't, it's called stewardship using what God has given you the further the gospel
i once sat under a plaster who says that if you didn't tithe EVERY WEEK ...that you owed INTEREST the next week
@@lindabogue4714 Run Forrest run!!
I recently found this channel and I have heard several sermons without "complaints "
There are other people commenting with details on tithing being for the past so I am not going to repeat it.
Since this sermon was done 4 years ago from today
Feb 2019. Have you revised your stance on the subject?
😂😂😂😂Nice one, I believe he should get back to us with the truth..
Abraham paid tithes from the spoils of the battle they had at Sodom
It doesn't say he gave monthly, it was a one time that he gave the 10th of the spoils.
Was really liking this pastor until I heard this message...
Don't want God's blessings,huh
>>> A Tither's Checklist based on GOD'S WORD...
Be sure to check the Tither's Checklist before paying your "tithe." Make sure it complies with The Law of Moses, the Word of God, where God established commanded tithing.
Concerning your tithe;
Numbers 18:21, Acts 15:24, Malachi 4:4
AND...
GOD SAYS "USE TITHE MONEY TO BUY WINE AND WHATEVER YOUR HEART DESIRES TO BUY WITH IT."
If we are supposed to be tithing money, or tithing at all for that matter, as tithing teachers claim; why are we not supposed to be doing what God says with the tithe money?
>> Why don't tithing teachers tell their faithful tithers this?...
> ref.; Deuteronomy 14:22-27
22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
23 And thou shalt eat before the Lord thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the Lord thy God always.
24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the Lord thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the Lord thy God hath blessed thee:
25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the Lord thy God shall choose:
26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the Lord thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,
27 And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.
OR THIS...
>> Why don't tithing teachers tell their faithful tithers this?...
> ref.; Deuteronomy 14:28-29
28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
29 And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.
11. Abraham tithed to a KING, Melchizedek; are we to treat pastors as KINGS and the church they oversee as a "Kingdom run by a KING?"
12. Since God NEVER called the Children of Israel to tithe based on Abraham tithing to Melchizedek (there is NO SCRIPTURE commanding the Children of Israel to tithe as Abraham did), the very Abraham who was the Father of their Nation, and HIGHLY revered; why would God instruct the New Testament Church to "tithe as Abraham did?"
And they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed."
>> Tithing is not a New Testament doctrine; there is no such thing as "New Testament tithing," or "Tithing under grace." If tithing was required and taught in the New Testament for Christians, it would have to be clearly detailed and outlined in the terms and conditions of the New Testament like all promises and commands of the New Testament are.
"The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi."
> Malachi 1:6 - Malachi is speaking to the Nation of Israel and the corrupt Priests of Aaron that despise God's name, not the New Testament Church.
"...saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name."
> Malachi 2:1 - The command to bring a portion of the Temple tithe to the Temple storehouses to support the porters and singers is to the corrupt Priests of Aaron, not the New Testament Church.
"Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts." - Malachi 3:7
> Malachi 3:10 says to bring the tithes INTO THE STOREHOUSE...NOT STOREHOUSES...STOREHOUSE...NOT STOREHOUSES. There was only ONE STOREHOUSE for tithes to be stored at the Temple, and it was destroyed in 70AD. NOWHERE does God call New Testament churches "STOREHOUSES to be tithed to."
> In Malachi 3:15 God called testing him "wicked," but permitted only in this case for the Children of Israel to test him; Malachi 3:15, Deuteronomy 6:16, Exodus 17:2, Numbers 14:22, Matthew 4:7, 1 Corinthians 10:9]
> Malachi 4:4 - The people who Malachi was talking to and addressing, the Nation of Israel, are under the Law of Moses, Malachi's commandments on tithing are based on the Law of Moses, not the New Testament which contains no commandment for anyone to tithe.
Yankee
