This show gave me similar vibes to Start Up. I checked and it's from the same writer and director. I kind of wished it had more comedic moments like Start Up. It focused in too many plot points IMO and tried to wrap up all of it too early.

That's exactly why 12 episodes was too little. I loved the show a lot but I did felt that more moments could've been had like Mohka bonding with her "family" and more time of her being stuck in the island. There were also A LOT of dramatic cliffhangers with hardly any lighthearted moments to balance it out. At least in Start Up you had Bae Suzy who played a role of being goal driven and funny with her team.
Castaway felt a lot more serious between Kiho's abusive bio father, Ranjoo's career, the family identity subplot, child abuse, and Woohak's father suddenly bleeding near the end. Felt like I could hardly go through any episode without a dramatic cliffhanger.Which is a shame cause as you mentioned I also found out that it was the same producer that did Start Up cause it had the same style to it and I really enjoyed that drama.
