A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I'm Dean Wolfe, a mostly self-taught Canadian guitarist/composer/multi-instrumentalist/singer/producer/performer. I started out as a full time musician, on the road at age 17 for two years, then went part-time ever since, while holding day careers including chef and spiritual health care while raising a family.
As a producer I've made hundreds of my own songs for media and award winning documentaries etc. I've been in several bands including a prog/jazz fusion act nFuze, performing in International Jazz festivals and jazz clubs. I mostly abandoned the prog genre in the 90s but have returned to it now with vigour 30 years later. So much prog! My own prog band was rejected by record labels as "too progressive' in the late 80s, so i detoured into grunge, pop and alternative instead (then folk / acoustic fingerstyle guitar and ambient electronic as well). At the end of 2022 I fell into a shoegaze rabbit hole (so you will see lots featured here.)

Nice react Dean. Very intentional anime/JRPG style to it, as Ankimo are technically a Touhou Project doujin band--or they grew from that to doing originals, but lots of their songs are still based on anime/games/novels. If you listen a bit more, Ogawa-san (bass) was doing some more moving around during the last verse/chorus.

Not really metal band, but another JRock band AliA also has a dedicated violinist, as well as a keyboardist. I find that blending string with electric components really enhance the depth of rock song!

Ogawa as I said in your reaction video, is really a jazz bassist. I think the problem for him coming through is that there is so much going on from everyone else he tends to be down in the mix. He does stand out a bit more when Shiren is has rest (due to his injury) and is not on the guitar. He does get a solo in "Knight of Sword" there is a MV and a live MV of the song, "Spartan Army" is another where he stands out, but there is not an MV of that, he also has a bass solo spot when they play live. There are a few others that use a violin, but they don't really have MV's out. There is one called "soLi" which is by Saori Hoshino , a good friend of Jill, the group is 2 members and guests, the other member is Isao who plays in the Kami band. they are an insturmetal group.

Jill and Saori are doing a violin concert later this month.
Jill also does guest spots in other metal groups. Babymetal used a violinist at 1 live show, called Zin. Jill is also in a group with her brother, Louie called Rose Noir, but they are a bit on and off. Louie is older than Jill and also plays the violin, the reason why Jill started, but he is not as good as she is.
