Seth MacFarlane is briliant and I can say from a British angle that his take off of Stewie is spot on. I wondered if it was really Rex Harrison but having listened to Rex recently, it is Rex. Btw, Rex Harrison was as heterosexual as they come.
It's funny how little things went the way MacFarlane planed, "just a secondary character that no one would care about turned into the most iconic and important character in the show.

When Seth stutters, I can feel Stewie trying to come out of his mouth.
I'm American and I love British people and their Humor. And I like how Macfarlane voiced Stewie off of Harrison. But I hear just a tiny bit of Noel Coward in there, too.
I think Seth's take on Rex for Stewie is far better, far funnier and far more commanding than Rex himself ever was. Stewie's got far more punch! Especially considering he's only a baby :) Oh, someone else has also mentioned Noel Coward. Definitely agree.
There's a scene in Drop Dead Fred where he gets his head stuck in the fridge and when he pulls it out he has a Stewie shaped head. The Young Ones also had cutaway gags similar to Family Guy.
Seth Macfarlane is amazing at doing and acting out voices, and singing!! However, you have to acknowledge Hank Azaria and Dan Castallaneta for their amazing work on the Simpsons as well.
I'm British and I apologise on behalf of my fellow countrymen on this thread complaining about being called 'gay' (sarcastically) and ironically being 'gay' at the same time.
I have NEVER heard that Rex Harrison was gay, and I've studied the guy's career pretty extensively. This appears to be something that Seth MacFarlane simply made up.
Yeah i went on a hunt for that info - dude had 6 wives and had kids too, but no men in the picture. Colourful relationships, but no men. Some people think he was bi, but no concrete evidence. It's all just speculation it seems.
I have met Seth Macfarlane and his line about British people being evil if there is any justice was about the fact that our voices are perfect for that evil villain stereotype. Just look at many of the classic villains for example hans Gruber.
To be fair, whenever a Brit appears in some US and CA shows, it was a huge tell they were going to be evil. I remember watching stargate and a brit appeared and me and my family were like "well she's gonna be evil because she's British". It's a formula that holds up to this day XD To be fair and technical, it's probably less about being 'British' and more about speaking with an RP accent. I don't think a Liverpudlian or Yorkshire accent has quite the 'evil' tone required. Similarly with the welsh, somerset, scottish or irish accents. Literally just one English RP accent that very few people actually speak with in the UK and has connotations with the upper class. So yeah, they would be evil...
Geeze Bill seems so fascinated about Seth's cartoon that he makes it seem like Seth has cured cancer. This guy seems like he has nothing else better to do than study this cartoon and compliment Seth because he's so fascinating. -_-
Just want to say this; I'm british and I love American TV, particularly family guy. As yeah it's all fun and games the Americans call us gay we call them fat, etc. But too go as far as too say we're evil? Well I dare you to say that to every single Britsh soldier who's fought on behalf of America, from Korea to Iraq.

James Crane on the contrary, he was married so many times because he couldn’t find himself to be compatible with any women and was just in denial that he was gay
@@dachshund_gaming Um no, he married so many times bc the woman he wished to remarry after Kay Kendall passed away, Lilli Palmer, had married someone else. Rex's ashes were scattered on her grave in the end.

I've heard of Mel Blanc. He's the voice of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig (not his original voice), Yosemite Sam, Tweety, Sylvester, Foghorn Leghorn, Henery Hawk, Pepe Le'Pew, the Tazmanian Devil, Woody Woodpecker, Figaro and Gideon the Cat from Disney's Pinocchio, Barney Rubble, Speed Buggy, Captain Caveman, Heathcliff and a few others.
I shall be informing The Queen about this Mr. MacFarlane. Let's see how funny you think it is next time you're driving through a tunnel in Paris!😜 #TooSoon
I actually thought Stewie was supposed to be a posh American for a long time! And besides, the way they portray any culture is basically just the cartoon stereotype x 100 in over-the-top-ness. Don't take it to heart, it's just a bit of a laugh :) Also just to add, personally I love Seth and I also love it when an American who obviously can't do a British accent does one, puts me in stitches every time!
@NMtB4ev4 My dad's side of the family are from England, so I'm partially British as well. I'm just taking the comment with a grain of salt. I mean, he was saying it in the sense that most Americans think that British people are gay because they're sophisticated and that they're evil, which they aren't.
