The Simpsons Game is the only game that I have ever heard utter the words, "I'm Will Wright, bitch!" If that doesn't sell you on it, nothing will. I loved every moment of it.
I personally LOVED the DS version (despite not liking platformers OR ever watching the Simpsons). I found the story really good, the characters fun, the jokes funny and... I suprisingly loved the platforming gameplay as well (despite not being into platformers at all), I even (almost) 100%ed that game actually (despite not being into going for 100% in any game I play).
Same here...played the DS version when I was little and when I got older (out of high school), I bought then returned the ps2 version a few yrs back. It just wasn't hitting it like the DS version + I don't remember if it had pet homer in it. The only thing different was it didn't have the touch options and was multiplayer in the story. Short story, I only played like 2 levels of the ps2 version.
I also noticed that the cutscenes in the DS version used in-game characters models from its home console and PSP counterparts rather than the hand-drawn cutscenes done by AKOM Animation in South Korea.
When i was 11-12 I picked up the game once again to give it a shot... Five Characters in Search of an Author was one of the most painful levels I struggled so hard... the level’s platforming was so complex as it is and then when I think it’s over, 2 rooms left. A white room with TVs that can destroy anyone who isn’t a pro platformer would die quickly. But then the last room... raining money bags, dogs with bees in their mouths, pencils, sniping lawyers. It was a hell. But the funniest thing of all, I became a pokemon player a few years after and a few years after that, I realise one of my favourite childhood games incorporated pokemon
a curiosity is that the DS cutscenes use the other games character models because originaly that is how the cutscenes were going to be, in game, but then the executives decided that they were going to be animated on the same style of the show by the animation studios that makes the actual series so the DS version is the only one with the old cutscenes
I played this in 2024, so good to finally play this title, after 13 years! Time flies, one of the best 2D platform games on the DS! Last played this in 2011, when I were 4 years old.
I remember when I was younger I couldn't finish the game (well the ds version, I've completed the 360 version a couple of times) because every time I got to the final mission. My save data would corrupt and I would have to start over from the beginning.
I wonder if I'm sailing alone on this boat, but the cutscenes in this port are better animated with the 3D models than the actual drawn TV style cartoon.
Alwyas heard the console versions were good and the best Simpsons games in general, but I didn't know the DS versions was too, I like games where you have to use two or more characters with different abilities, it looks really great, the quantity of speech and FMV is astounding (can hardly believe they fit all in 128 MB), and full of references and fourth-wall-breaking humour. EA played their cards good with the license back then (even having Will Wright appear in the game), and I wonder if today they'd be ever able of some self-humour like they did here. Best detail: Marge keeping Maggie inside her hair :D
1 of the funnest games ever on Nintendo ds!!!! I use to play this in like 2008 to 2009ish I still have the game those were good times 👍👍👍 also isn’t this game based on one of the episodes? If so which episode ?
i can't un-see the vanossgaming "hi my names Mario, i do meth" skit where miniladdd gets a nosebleed when I see this games versions of Mario and sonic.
When I played this I it took me so long to beat the second to last boss with bart, I thought that was the whole game. When I finally did beat him and made it to Heaven I was kinda disappointed. God wasn't even a real boss.
I was one of the biggest Simpsons fans in the mid-90s through the early 2000's and somehow I never owned a single Simpsons videogame besides Bart vs. the Space Mutants. Maybe that game left too sour a taste in my mouth to want to try any later titles. This one actually looks and sounds decent enough. Not that I need to play any of them anymore, but watching is good enough for me.
i remember my brother having the psp version, i loved the game so much that i asked my mum for one for my ds, i preferred the 3d look but i still loved the side scroller!
Omfg did I hear that right?? Around 13:30 At the end of the planetarium episode It sounds like Skinner says "in college I ate a guys butt to get into a fraternity" ???
@@NintendoComplete that's EVEN GROSSER but I'm gonna have to listen again now... I mean, it's always the cliché for young men and women to be sexually ambitious and "Experiment" in college so maybe I heard what I wanted to hear 🙉
My first ever game I got for my DS lite in the blue/black color back in 2007 with this game and pokemon diamond MEMORIES!!! 😭 STILL PLAY IT NOW AND HAVE MY ORIGINAL COPY FROM THAT TIME
45:26 "for tha love of Nessy!!" BAHAHA HAHAHAHA SO funny, btw, were those pale whoopie cushion looking foods homer was eating in the previous levels supposed to be Haggis? I've never seen it but I know it's something like gizzards boiled in animal intestines... Lol. So so so many jokes probably going over MY HEAD now as a grown man, I can only imagine being a little kid. Well, I guess that's how the Simpsons was at it's best. Risqué and pushing boundaries for primetime and Network Television 📺
22:42 I just find it strange how Chief Wiggum is okay with beating up a child. Police in America really shouldn't have looked at this game as inspiration
Does Someone know how to get the Final mark from lisa at the god Level? Its on the top of the Square tower, i never got it since they released the game
I remember playing through this game over and over as a kid and I still know all of the plot. Life was so simple back then
LukoOfPower I still play it over and over. I love the Simpsons and this has always been my favourite video game, the story is great.
I also played this game a lot back in my childhood over and over. I didnt had many games so i loved this one.
facts brother
Same
I remember this game I was afraid of the dolphin part where u played as lisa and had to defeat the dolphins
It is insane how I could play as a kid the same level over and over again and never get bored. Both on the DS and the Wii.
frr, i never got past the first few levels, but would play this daily lmao
It kept me going back to the ps3
sometimes I wonder how we all managed to beat this as a kid, not even knowing what's going on
The Simpsons Game is the only game that I have ever heard utter the words, "I'm Will Wright, bitch!" If that doesn't sell you on it, nothing will. I loved every moment of it.
NintendoComplete
Hit & Run is still the best simpsons game
Invidente7 indeed. I just replayed that over the holidays.
Invidente7 I gotta say my vote goes to Bart vs the Space Mutants :)
NintendoComplete I got to say the DS version seem a little better then the wii version to me at least.
timestamp pl0x?
Always reminds me of my 5th birthday. I got a DS Lite and this is the game my parents got me to play. The memories...

I swear to god I played this when I was like 5 and I never even realized this xD

never played gta cw?
Dark Widow 64 No wonder this was rated T (12+ for Europe)
@@ogbobbyjohnson9531 So did Jackass on the DS.
For a DS game based on a cartoon license, it does an amazing job with FMVs and voiceovers. Unlike Toy Story 3 for the DS!
I also noticed that the cutscenes in the DS version used in-game characters models from its home console and PSP counterparts rather than the hand-drawn cutscenes done by AKOM Animation in South Korea.
Yeah, I like Toy Story 3 on DS, but it was lacking in voice acting at times.
@@fruitstar2522 Those were apparently meant to be on every version as in a prototype that got leaked of the x360 version those cutscenes were used
Hold it, TS3 had voice acting? I remember cutscenes not having any, but there was any at all?
Nostalgia.
I relate to your nostalgia good sir.
.
Indeed
Nostalgia

I get the jokes now...
Yeah I remember when I was too young to even beat the game and I had to ask my brother to do it for me so I could watch the cutscenes.
I thought I was crazy when I remembered that "Rock You Like a Hurricane" played in the credits
I remember struggling to beat this as a kid but it was a ton of fun.
i cant get over this video this is pure nostalgia
I remember my copy of the game would always freeze right after the museum level, so as a kid I just used to replay the first 2 levels over and over
I think this happend to me also
THIS GIVES ME SO MANY MEMORIES😢
The music in games 1-3 make me feel 7 years old again. (I was awful at the game and could never go further.

I never completed the dolphin part as a kid.

Enter the cheatrix took me 2 hours darn the powerful enimies

I had to get a family friend to do it for me😅

Oh Jesus my brain despised those pencils.
I used to play this all the time!! Thanks for the vid
About time someone did this video.
I remember playing this game every thanksgiving from 2010 to 2013. So nostalgic!
I remember playing this all the time. It was awesome. Even my grandparents liked watching us play it. They watched the simpsons all the time.
I had to come back to check this vid 3 times already, I think I'm dumb lol. Thank you for this.

This game is so underrated
the level that LITERALLY PISSED ME OFF was the one with Matt Groening
It was the only hard level.
Wow! Thank you for this! My son was stuck in a level and getting very frustrated and I didn't know how to help him, until I find your video! 🙏😃♥️
It's weird that combining the screens makes a seamless image when the actual DS is split by two plastic bordered shells.
I wonder if I'm sailing alone on this boat, but the cutscenes in this port are better animated with the 3D models than the actual drawn TV style cartoon.
precious memories....
This is my childhood right here
I remember playing this game on Nintendo DS for a long time when I was like eight years old. And this game is been 14 years ago.
This was my favourite ds game as a kid, so many memories
This and the 360 are amazing, just like Lego Batman. Perfection on both ports!!
this has to be top 5 OG ds games
Just unlocked a multitude of memories
Takes me back.
It's interesting, there's cutscenes that were properly animated on consoles and yet here, they're the rough 3D versions that were in the game betas.
man now i wish that turn-based fight sections were their own Simpsons DS RPG
I use to play this game when I was little, huh my memories 🥲
I remember always playing this, it was so much fun.
I used to struggle on this as a kid
THIS WAS MY FAVORITE GAME BUT I FORGOT IT EXISTED I THOUGHT IT WAS A FEVER DREAM
