For people who were young/child in late 90's and early 2000's this is nostalgia, for people who were born in that period this is liminal. For one the feeling is to come back to a period when you were happy and without worries, for the other the feeling is to see your parents for the first time, and the world still has to colour of the walls of your first house. One of them is coming back home, the other is feeling something he cannot even remember
How poetic
POV: It's 1998 you're walking through a Mall filled with warm lighting, to get your first ever HP Compaq with an exclusive copy of Windows 95
taking the product off a store shelf in Circuit City ...
On another note, did you know the Matrix (movie) simulates 1999? ...
Cutting edge! 😎
That's not how 1998 worked
@@vadim6385explain POV
Bless up Brian Eno for fathering this sonic art form and for creating the Windows 95 boot chime.
What it felt like discovering and using a computer for the first time. Looking around the desktop, trying all sorts of programs that were already installed on it.
Now this is what I call meditation.
Those icons on the desktop and that specific shade of blue/green background colour make it all the more nostaglic for me. 🙂
This is on another level of relaxation
This sounds like a liminal space, yet relaxing
Feel like an old friend
I'm booting to this rn
Incredible piece, really interesting to hear parts of the startup sound but in ways I've never heard before.
The things one can do with sound lol this is great
I wish I could have this many icons on my PC and phone today. But I have to have lots of apps because of work. Sometimes it's too disctructing.
Very relaxing. Thank you .
I appreciate the download link ^^
Can you do one of these for Windows XP? Maybe with the default Bliss wallpaper?
Love this so much!! Thanks for sharing this❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Love the mood !
I'd love too to get the wallpaper animation ...
yeah mom? okay one sec, just tryna get down from space.
love it, thank you
Thank you 😊
Love it!!
This is great!
From sky blue to Hellish red. I wonder what that means
i was born in 2011 and these sounds..............right..............like I belong here.....................
Epic
Any way to get this wallpaper (without the icons)?
Here are some shots of the sky (without icons) that I made when I did the thumbnail for the video: joeseggiola.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/Windows+9.75+Sky.zip - I also added the link in the description, thanks for the suggestion!
@@joeSeggiolaone question, is there a gif version or mp4 of the background without icons? Im struggling to turn the images into mp4 and also i like your vid, you can send me when it sets from day to night and then night from day
cmon answer dude@@joeSeggiola
Музыка такая словно я играю в legend Zelda ocarina of time
i wanna go back to the past so bad :')
the clouds are moving damn
Windows 98 was shaky and prone to security risks, but I adored that OS!
My aura is accumulating very much
I just remember that solid pool green background, and the 8-bit shine of the Netscape logo's meteors animating over and over. Can still smell that old keyboard and mouse plastic too, the kind that turns yellow after 5 years or so. All this in about 1996 I think, was 5 years old at the time.
My Briefcase! Did anyone actually use it? Let's open it up and see where it takes us . . . a strange portal to yet another desktop of memories
No jokes, I actually got curious when I set up Windows 95 on a virtual machine to get the screenshots for this video... 💼 My Briefcase appeared as a default desktop icon right after the fresh installation, but I didn't remember anything about it. Turns out it worked something like an offline Dropbox: if you drop some files into it you get copies that stay synchronized with the originals. I think it was intended to be used with files on removable devices.
This is absolutely another level of experience.
What kind of an ethereal gem have I stumbled upon?
If I have to choose one game iv ever loved.
Modem starting up. Connecting to the Tibia server in early 2000s. ♥️
i am surprise you did delete "My Breifcase"
makes me feel strangely nostalgic... even though I was born in the 2000s
this isn’t nostalgia, however it is some true ethereal feeling that all of us will share.
You are all of our younger sibling
This is some amazing stuff here!
My Computer. Non this, MY.
The future holds no boundaries reach out for it grab it and manifest your own reality.
bruh
I want these days back , dearly i do. Born in 91 i remember how things were and they were wonderful but now.........i detest the modern world. Wish i could go back 😢
hi joe, have you considered adding a creative commons license to this? it would allow people to use it as like background music if they credit you
Hi @amytimed, what do you want to use it for? No problem if you do.
@@joeSeggiola im thinking of making a game inspired by aesthetics of OSes like Windows 95, XP and 7
this would be great background music for such a game i think
@@amytimed go ahead then! if you follow the soundcloud link in the description, now you'll see a cc-attribution license and a download option 😉 more important than attribution, let me know if you finish your projects so i can play it!!!
@@joeSeggiola thank you!
Reminds me learning how to use a computer in 1996, 1997...
relaxing....
Geez you feel like you're in another space
