역시 명문이네요. 다른 소년합창단도 많고 다들 아름다운 하모니지만 빈 소년합창단은 여유가 느껴진달까요 ㅎㅎ

My maternal grandparents were both born in Austria. So growing up in the late 1950s and 1960s there was a heavy Austrian influence to my brother and me. My own interaction with the Vienna Boys Choir took two memorable turns. First, when I was about 8 years old I was a bit envious that my then 11 year old brother sang in a local Episcopal Church choir in our native Portland, Oregon. I wrote a letter to the Director of the Vienna Boys Choir in Austria explaining that I wanted to tryout for the Vienna Boys Choir. (Being the grandson of two natives of Austria it seemed logical, to 8 year old me, that I could do this.) Much to my surprise (to my mother's also), the then Director of the esteemed Vienna Boys Choir wrote me back a very nice and personal letter explaining (in the 1960s) that the members were only those boys actually Austrian natives. A generation once removed could not count. (Now they take applicants from all over the world.) But it said much to 8 year old me (and now 64 year old me) that this was and is an organization who really cares about children. Whether the kids really under their charge or simply some kid a continent away. My second encounter with the Vienna Boys Choir came when I was 15 and not so personal but still memorable. They had come to Portland in February. The evening started off amazing in and of itself. I had no money to actually go and see unless I could get a real inexpensive seat. I was waiting in line to see what the seats cost. Out of the blue, a man came up to me and asked if I would like to see the show. He had a ticket, I asked how much. He said he wanted no money. Just somebody to enjoy the show. It was a prime Orchestra Level Center seat. After the intermission the Choir Director stepped to the microphone. "We need," he began, "to ask your indulgence with our next selection." He went on. "Given how much the boys give to these concerts, once in a while we indulge them in terms of a song they want to perform." Behind the Director some of the boys were giggling. "So just to let you know, we are not crazy. We know it is February. But here is the boys' personal choice." They then launched into this very rousing rendition of Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer (in February). On TH-cam is a different version of the Vienna Boys Choir performing Rudolph. It is good that you eventually got to see the boys performing in Portland but don't you think it was odd that you were offered the ticket by a man who was a complete stranger? I wonder what the story is here.
I never knew this was also done with words until now. OMG these young boys sing and sound so beautiful. There voices are simply pure and heavenly. I love watching the Vienna Boys Choir perform. 🎶 BRAVO!!! 2019

Always a delight to watch and hear these boys . I love Blue Danube . Nice to hear the lyrics. Thought it was only instruments. One should learn German and Italian to follow the classical pieces well.

Eine wirklich schöne und süße Interpretation von Strauss' "An der schönen blauen Donau". Tolle gesungen! Aaaaber: wenn ich mir die Boys, ehm, Jungs, nein Buben, Knaben oder so anschaue, dann habe ich das Gefühl, dass sie eigentlich so gar keinen bock auf dieses Gedudel haben. Könnte ich ja auch verstehen. Heute hört man ja auch ganz andere "Mucke"! ;) Sieht das noch wer genau so?
