I think it's still in the early phase of a new golden era that's just now beginning to awaken... it's clearly the reason there's been a re-igniting of the "spark" for a good few of the OG legends, as well as an entirely new generation of competitors and fans alike. Seeing John reach the top again though at 57 would be absolutely incredible. What a time to be a fan.
I think the pandemic helped alot with the sport since alot of countries were on restrictions or in lock down and had people watch TH-cam alot more and want to train from boredom like myself
The WAL was fun but honestly I never considered it to be that serious. You gotta travel and conquer those beasts from the east! John has done it before if he can do it again!
Well WAL had the right vision trying to make the sport more entertaining. They’re model is a mainstream breaking model. Someone must fill that gap or it will continue to be an underground sport. I believe Coresports has a similar vision. Traditional PAL/WAF arm wrestling will never go mainstream.

I am convinced, that John Brzenk in every fight decides for himself whether to win or lose, depending on his mood, and thus has full control of the situation! ))
There is something about John that is unique and makes it possible for him to tear through opponents that are bigger and heavier. He is not that big, or tall, doesn't have huge muscles he is in his 50's with arthritis yet he still has his spark.

Not many people know this but John Breznk has titanium socket joints with tungsten wax coated cables (to muffle any artificial sound), surgically implanted in his arms and shoulders. But seriously, a freak of nature who has found a niche in arm wrestling. Very few people find an 'exact match' in sports or other type of occupation with physical or mental aptitude and ability. John is one of those people.
We need to get John Brzenk merch. A sketch or picture of his arm in the "ready" position on a t-shirt with the words, "The Perfect Storm" circling around it.

I looked up to John as a role model throughout my childhood , my Dad loved arm wrestling and would talk highly of him and for good reason, he's the best at what he does and carries himself with class.

Gear isn’t the be all, end all, like it is in other sports. Armwrestling takes time and tendon strength. No one has more of that than Brzenk. Gear can obviously help, but nothing like time in the sport will.

They both had the structure to get to the top fast and Levan has evolved from a gifted guy who competes for fun, with no clear goal, to someone who really channels his will to win, in both training and matches. If you got this focused Levan on the juice from the start he could get his 2017 shape in something over 2 years, that's 7 years he spent AW and atleast 3 years on the sauce.

If he was such a gifted armwrestler in the first place, he'd already be worldclass at 130 kg, which is peak weight territory for most guys past and present... but he clearly wasnt. so ye, it's not about the focus and discipline... it's about the calories and the drugs he's willing to push through his system. Get real

That was low-key one of the most impressive feats in the sport. To be in his 50's, combating chronic pain and injury, and after taking so much time away, to come back and beat a young gun who is at the absolute top of the weight class is incredible. Not only did John beat him, but he did so with relative ease. This whole idea that he wouldn't be able to reach the top if today's monsters existed back then, or if he were coming up against today's field is absurd. He has the same affinity for the sport, the same physical gifts, only he would also have today's training and nutritional information, and would know what his targets are. I guarantee you, he would be no less great.
I am most certainly convinced he can, I have seen an 80+ year old lift an old horse carriage axle with the wheels and everything.... Strength is something very surprising as it doesnt go down the same way as other things like being quick or agile with fast reflexes. I have seen old men being incredibly strong and capable of the same feats as they where young. So age is not a real factor here in my opinion. Past injuries and if recovery was properly acheived are the real issues with this type of challenge, if he didn't cumulate very bad injuries and just has regular pain from not being active then yes, with training and dedication and determination, the pains will dissipate and he can recover strength and be the best in the sport. So it's a matter of injuries and motivation, both these things are what's needed to be successful.
I live like 5 mins away from John... I had no idea. I have lived in Mesa AZ for 10 years and had no clue the worlds best armwrestler was living here. Crazy world!
