Clearly I have been doing this all wrong. Only been playing for a couple of days, and this will help immensely, very nice tutorial on the orb mechanics. Also, anyone who drops a Short Circuit reference gets extra points in my book. Thanks.
Subscribed because of this video. Out of all the how to's and guides on orb combos, yours is the best. I somehow managed to make it to rank 100 with my crappy combo abilities. When I watched the other videos on combos they never explained that you shouldn't go for a clear board without time extends. I was eating my time going for a full clear when I would never be able to do that with my current teams. You explained it very clearly and in a way that I wish I knew a long time ago. Farming and the mid game dungeons are so much easier now that I only go for 4-5 easy combos instead. Thank you so much!
Yes! Finally a video that goes slow enough so I can see what your doing WHILE you're explaining what your doing. I've watched more 'tips and tricks' than I'd like to count but this is the first one that was actually helpful. Thank you very much +puzzledzzy
wonderful tutorial. great for the new players in the community. it was really easy to follow and your organization of this video was much better. good job dizzy. your videos are improving fast. the last technique is called the retrace because you are retracing your steps to undo what you just did. I personally like that name because it is descriptive of what it is. I do like the worm term. that one is good
+ThrdCardofDeath Hey, thanks for watching my vids! I really appreciate it!I'I'm doing my best to keep improving every day :) Thanks for the heads up on the term. I'll try and use terms people are already familiar with. :)
I know this is over a year old, but thank you for it. This has helped me see combos a bit better. I'm not stacking perfectly, but I am getting more combos than I was. Thank you!
I just started playing last week. TYSM for this tutorial, it's awesome!! I can see that my game has improved tremendously. Having said that, I'm still slightly confused on fusions and ultimate evos. Although I have been doing them, and I did spend some real money ($20) on the godfest.😮 I believe I have gotten some good monsters but, I did receive Mamiya and I didn't like or have a need for her abilities so I fed her to someone else. I'm sure that probably was a sin LOL. As I said I'm a noob, so I'll have to learn as I go along. I would like to be able to have extra time for orb placement but I haven't seen that skill yet. I think I'm progressing well considering that I've only been playing for a week and I have a fair understanding of the game from online research but any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for the awesome vid!
+A Clark Oh, you pulled the Fist of the North STar Machine? (that wasn't affected by the Godfest). Mamiya is fantastic and most people are pulling that machine specifically for her. Sad to hear she went away. I did that when I started playing too. As a rule of thumb, dont throw anything you pay for away. :) And if you're going to, especially dont feed it to someone else! Yo ucan sell them for Monster Points which you can buy things with later. I'll be doing a video on some more of the basics to the game, but for starters it depend on what leader you use but a primarily mono color team will be the easiest thing to grind through the normals and technicals with. Early game your goal will be getting through normals and technicals. If you're under Rank 120, on the weekends once you get to Tower of Giants you can repeatedly play the 3rd floor of it "Dragons of the Tower" for EXP and rank up indefinitely until you get to around 120. After that, you should have more team cost and stamina to play stronger teams. Then your goal will be finishing normals/technicals and starting to put a team together to be able to beat Starlight Sanctuary and farm King of the Gods (the last floor of it). Once you can farm that, or once you've beat it at least once you'll probably start tackling some of the easier descends. (This will be rank 150ish-200) For early game fodder (things you can feed for exp), the carbuncles work the best. feed other things to the carbuncles until they're around lvl 7-10 and then feed them to whatever else. Early game, Ogres can help out on your team, as can Ninjas, some of the higher lvl goblins, etc. But you want to keep your eyes open for the Healer Girls like Naga, Siren, Succubus, etc. And the Heart Breakers like Titan(gigas), vampire, etc. Ogre's leader skill combined with autoheal will help you farm some of the daily experts to get evo materials and Succubus' poison will help you with some evo mats as well. If you ever need advice or help with what you're working on, feel free to stop by the stream! www.twitch.tv/dzydzydino or www.kamcord.com/live/dzydzydino You can follow me on twitter twitter.com/dzydzydino to get updates on when and where I'm streaming. I also post updates about my youtube channel there. The room is always full of incredibly nice people who are all so helpful. If you come with any questions or need advice on what team to build out of your box, people are always around and willing to help. I always take time out to help people during stream as well. Hope you stick with it! The game has a bit of a learning curve and online research is a must, but it's so gratifying/rewarding and such a great game. If you don't already use it, puzzledragonsx.com is a fantastic resource. padherder.com is also a resource people use to track their boxes and show their boxes to other people (in case you come by the stream and want to link people to your box). Beating Normals and Technicals, especially the early-mid ones can be done with almost any team. If you're struggling, you probably just need a little help with your team building and it should be mostly easy. Those are kind of the learner dungeons where you learn the matching and survival skills you'll need for harder dungeons -- and basic teambuilding skills as well. Also, when looking online for guides, beware dated guides!! The game has changed a lot in the last year and is changing all the time. There are a lot of old guides that aren't relevant anymore giving a lot of new players bad advice. That's one of the main reasons I started making guides and videos, because I was lead pretty astray early on and wanted to help my friends get started on this game! pheeew! That was an ear/eyeful! Hope to see you by the stream sometime!! If you can't make it, you can just keep an eye on my youtube channel too! I'll constantly be posting new content!
I feel like once I start moving an orb I have so much less time than you do haha whats up with that?? Is it because this is an older video or because I'm playing the JP version??
I am horrible at this game. This video is great and easy to understand but once I get in game it's a disaster haha. I swear, watching people play this that are good makes it look a magic trick. It's like watching someone solve rubik's cubes. It looks like a mess, you can't exactly follow what they are doing completely, and then at the end they have everything suddenly together. I'm going to keep practicing!
+AurumKHK Heya Aurum! It's actually very similar to solving a rubik's cube in ways, where at first you have to go really slow and walk yourself through every single step. Like if you want to move this orb up and to the left two spaces, you have to move exactly here, here, and here. To turn these 3 orbs in this pattern into a match, you have to exactly move like this, this, and this. Soon, just like Rubik's cubes, it all becomes muscle memory and automatic and you can just move like second nature. It's slow starting, but challenging yourself to learn something new is the exciting part! I'm going to be doing new guides soon starting from the very basics and moving on! I've been away from TH-cam for like 2 weeks due to the Holidays and Twitch, but I'll be back starting next week with regular weekly updates! Meanwhile if you ever need help with anything, swing by my Twitch Channel! I stream 5 days a week at www.twitch.tv/dzydzydino !! I usually stream 4pm-10pm during the week and 6pm-12am on the weekends (PST West Coast time) If you swing by the stream, don't be afraid to speak up and introduce yourself! Everyone's super friendly and we're always happy to help out with whatever dungeon you're on or take a look at your box and help you figure some potential teams out!
I loved watching it, but when i tried to do it, i realised it's outdated. The timer just burns on you, you either have to be incredibly fast, or you'll just stop 1/4 of a way trough the board
+KingOfEggs I'm using a team with skills specifically to increase time by a large amount for the purpose of explaining things slowly in this video. The friend leader I'm using is Tsukuyomi aka Yomi in her D/D Uvo. In that evolution, her leader skill gives you 10 extra seconds to move orbs. Then every member on my team has at least 1 or 2 time extends. Normally for a combo heavy team like this, you would run somewhere in the vicinity of 4 time extends which amounts to 2 extra seconds, but some people prefer more. For practicing these techniques and getting used to them though, I highly recommend a team setup like the one I'm using here. If you don't have access to a friend leader of D/D Yomi, Hera also provides 3 extra seconds in her base form and 5 extra seconds in her evolved form, as does Lilith in her base and D/D forms. The Mid Ninjas also provide 1.5 seconds for their leader skills, and there are a handful of farmable gods with time extend awakenings and many from the REM Machine! I hope this helps answer your question!
Ya thank you iv just started the game that's why I was asking it's just hard to get that combo going with such a short time I have. I'll try finding someone with one of the leader your were talking about or just get one myself
+KingOfEggs Ah, awesome! Welcome to the game! If you're just getting started, it's probably going to be a little bit before you get a full team with awakenings and everything. In that case you might want to check out my other guide to comboing without Time Extends. I haven't put a full guide up for it yet, but it's a run with a leader through a dungeon using no time extends so it'll have short time like you. I explain how to make a few quick matches every turn. Combined with the few techniques and orb tricks shown in this guide, it should give you a great starting point. th-cam.com/video/Hcgzzr3diCY/w-d-xo.html The leader i'm using here is one with just a flat unconditional multiplier. In this game there are leaders with unconditional multipliers, meaning ones that say "Atk 3x to _____ attribute or ____ type" and then there are other ones with conditional multipliers, requiring you to fulfill a certain condition in order to gain an attack multiplier such as "Achieve greater than 6 combos to get 4x Atk" or "Match 4 attributes for 5x". The ones you're going to be using early game are usually unconditional multipliers. If you don't mind me asking though, who did you get as your starting roll? The starting roll is in fact very very important to the game, especially if you're not planning on investing money into the game, a good starting roll can set you up to enjoy the game fro a long time without ever spending a dime on it. A bad starting roll can... well... not. "Rerolling" is unfortunately a big part of the game once you decide you're going to play. But for now, mess around with the game a bit regardless of rerolling. If you decide you like the game, depending on what you rolled first and what your next rolls may be, you may find yourself starting over from scratch again with the knowledge you gained from this playthrough. Either way... NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER use the Rare Egg Machine unless it's during a Godfest. Godfests occur at the end/beginning of every month and in the middle of every month. You will know when you see the icon for the rare machine says "Godfest Live!" Pulling the Pal Machine is okay. but NEVER pull the Rare machine if it's not godfest!!!! It sounds a little daunting at first, but there are just a few things to learn as you get settled into the game, and then it becomes incredibly enjoyable. There's lots of information available online, although a lot of it is dated. Anyways, good luck to you! I update my channel every day and I'm on twitch often. The channel is always full of really nice, knowledgeable people who would be glad to help answer questions, in addition to myself. If you find yourself confused as to what to do or unsure how to progress, please don't hesitate to ask!
+puzzledzzy This video was great! I've been playing about 5-6 months but hadn't been too organized about where I make my matches. I can tell this is going to help a lot. On the subject of re-rolls, doesn't it really depend on how patient someone is? I got a throwaway starter roll but I just kept playing and am rank 190-something with some pretty good leads like Verdandi, Horus, Kirin, Satsuki, etc. I haven't ever spent any money on the game. Basically: * save up stones for Godfests, and/or expand box as needed. I think mine is ~340 because I'm a PadHoarder. * read up on various time-limited dungeons and especially consider looking at the PAD x site to preview each floor's content before moving on. * know which dungeons give the most XP per stamina and favor those when farming or tooling around. Looking forward to watching part 2!!
Heya! Sounds like you got some amazing rolls! That's some great luck there! Rerolls definitely have a lot to do with patience. If you're intending to never spend a dollar on the game, it's a great chance to get something that'll help you out late game, but really for people starting the game, just anything that'll help you out immediately and be of use to you is awesome as it'll hopefully get you to like and learn the game. You sound like you know what you're doing and well on your way! I've been a little away from youtube for the last month or so as I just got Twitch Partnered and have been streaming full-time. I plan to start making videos again for sure though! Thanks so much for watching, and if you ever have any questions about your box, any dungeon you're on, or the game at all, stop by the stream! It's always full of really helpful people and I always make time to answer questions and help out!
Clearly I have been doing this all wrong. Only been playing for a couple of days, and this will help immensely, very nice tutorial on the orb mechanics. Also, anyone who drops a Short Circuit reference gets extra points in my book. Thanks.
This is a fantastic and easy-to-understand tutorial. Kudos!
+Marty McGuire (Ndoto) Thanks a lot for the comment and for watching!

Not that I need to watch beginner guides or anything cuz I know all the basics. But it's fun to see everyone's different styles
I know this is over a year old, but thank you for it. This has helped me see combos a bit better. I'm not stacking perfectly, but I am getting more combos than I was. Thank you!
great tut man, learning to stack is easily the most important skill to moving up from 4-5 combos
+aeternum apathy Most definitely! Thanks for the kind words!
Thank you for this, you have so much time to move around the board, that is my biggest issue is I always feel like I am rushing to make matches.
Great tutorial
How the heck do you have so much time for each turn. I play and only get like 4-5 seconds it seems.
Maybe he took a team with a looooooot of time extending just for the demonstrating.
The biggest combo I ever had was with a 7x6 board. x20 to be exact. Just beautiful.

How do you get the enhanced orbs? The ones with the plus? I have a max level character and enhanced points
I feel like once I start moving an orb I have so much less time than you do haha whats up with that?? Is it because this is an older video or because I'm playing the JP version??
TheJapanCodeASMR No, he has a team of monsters that extend orb movement time
Oh that makes sense thanks! I'm super new so I was confused
TheJapanCodeASMR Lol no problem, I just started playing 2 weeks ago too
how do u get the time extend? is that from a monster?
+Lawrence Wong thanks man :)

Oh, what's up Crail! You disappeared from PAD! (really late on seeing this msg. been away from TH-cam.)
I talk with you all the time on Twitch! (kyle_sc)
So far I'm the same way lol. I'm getting a little better after watching this video. But ultimately I suck right now lol
I loved watching it, but when i tried to do it, i realised it's outdated. The timer just burns on you, you either have to be incredibly fast, or you'll just stop 1/4 of a way trough the board
Holy shit how much move time do you have
HOW...DID...YOU NOT HAVE A TIMER?!?! TEACH ME!!!!
Night Flame 2000 his orb matching time is prolly over 10 seconds
I can do it, but I'm so slow because a beginner at these new strats, there needs to be like a practice room or something XD
Nugran Nightwalk endless corridors
How do you have so much time
