It was said by Tengen that Muichiro & Gyomei became a hashiras just after 2 months after picking up a katana ... Tanjiro did 3 years of training and is not Hashira level. always blows my mind.
well everyone adapts differently to their breathing. tanjiro was taught water breathing, but apart from experience, you need to master all forms of your breathing in order to become a Hashira. But tanjiro's main affinity isn't water, it's sun, which is the most difficult breathing form to learn, yet he's able to learn it quickly just by ancestral memory as we've seen on the previous episodes or seasons. not to mention he can combine it with water breathing, and also apply hinokami kagura, the dance form of sun breathing into his attacks (season 1). man basically combined 3 techniques in one go. which, I've never seen any hashira be able to do or accomplish. even Tengen saw Tanjiro as his replacement

Here was my understanding purely from that first episode as an anime only: Tanjiro's dad we know is just straight up dead, or presumed so since season 1 he was sickly and it starts without his dad present ep 1, a.k.a he buried his dad(?). The upper 1 I presume to be the first sun breather turned after losing to Muzan, or a demon who modeled himself after that guy, if not maybe a descendent. I don't think saying "ayo that's now Tanjiros dad" is a spoiler, cause that's kinda... obvious? Other than that I think anything else people say are blatant spoilers and they're stupid for doing so.

The mechanical dolls that appear in this anime are of course fake, In Japan in the 16th century, there existed robots with very complex movements called ``a windup doll''. If you search for "Karakuri doll", you can find some videos on TH-cam.
I just don't get why some manga reader can't just chill ... being suspicious and curious of all the backstory is part of the story, people are meant to not understand who are who at first and discover as they watch/read, it'll be cleared out eventually ... I just don't get why some manga reader can't just chill ... being suspicious and curious of all the backstory is part of the story, people are meant to not understand who are who at first and discover as they watch/read, it'll be cleared out eventually ...
Let people think the long haired swordman is Tanjiro's dad, uncle or whatever, let people think he might be the rank 1 demon, let people make crazy theories ... heck even manga reader didn't know at that time in the story so why spoil anime onlies.

I'm pretty sure the manga was completed before season 2 and a lot of people read the manga to completion after seeing season 1, so there's a lot of semantic memory coming into play and making things seem obvious when they aren't and it's very "Why don't you realise something so simple?" for people who've forgotten when things are clarified
