I have very thick coarse hair and I love the tool chasing method however , I did purchase the tool you suggested , my teeth melted in the middle but that’s okay. You seem to be very knowledgeable about hair maintenance . I have also cut my split ends the way you do it works.

What helps it bounce? because I comb mine and it comes out straight still be puffy 2 minutes after iron
I think your issue is reversion not bounce. Try a product like color wow dream coat to help it from puffing up
