once they are done with them at the festival.
This was the 40th Annual Rattlesnake Hunt in Apache, Oklahoma. This event focuses a lot on snake education, teaching people how to identify various types of snakes, what to do if you see one in nature, what to do if snake bit and much more.
The event helps with the supply of anti-venom. They use every part of the snake. They extract the venom to make anti-venom. They have a guy that purchases the snakes, once they are done with them at the festival. He takes them for science research and continues making anti venom. Also the event helps the whole community by bringing in people to all the local business

The Apache Rattlesnake Festival, going strong for over 30 years, is known for its amazing rattlesnake round-ups, but also features an impressive array of activities for the whole family. Come to this festival in Apache for a carnival, plenty of games, more than 250 vendors and delicious fair food. Enjoy live music performed for the crowds.

Attracting thousands of visitors each year, the Apache Rattlesnake Festival allows festival-goers to take a hands-on approach to gathering rattlesnakes, or allows them to remain safely behind glass while viewing these magnificent predators. Feel an adrenaline rush as you participate in a guided snake hunt, or try something new from the snake butcher shop.
A snake pit with live snakes and snake handlers will be set up to the delight of festival-goers. Snack on fried rattlesnake before taking a turn in the snake pit if you dare. Don't miss the festival's open-air flea market, or take the kids over to the carnival area where they can enjoy a wide variety of rides.
