This guy is a true modern handballer. Fast, agile and with excellent passing skills. Strong in defence, which is a requirement with recent changes to the rule set. The Hansen era is over where you could just focus on being great offensively. Double subs will be, if not already, a thing of the past. If Simon can stay clear of serious injuries he will most likely be the best player in the world within a few years.
What a great Player! His breakout was no surprise for me, he played very good in the CL this season. For me he was even better than Hansen and Gidsel in this tourmament! Next player to breakout for Denmark will be Thomas Arnoldsen in the next year.

Lauge could honestly have become the best player in the world for many years if he hadn't gotten so many long term injuries throughout his career, so I think Arnoldsen might have some of the same potential.
We knew him since he was a youth player as well as we knew his parents. Mother Berit Bogetoft was a former top-level player for GOG and his father Jan Pytlick was also a top player for GOG but sadly were injured so he took up coaching and became the national coach of the Danish ladies team during the time when they dominated womens handball with 2 olympic gold medals in 2000 and 2004. Unfortunately they both failed the Danish handball community in the worst possible way by having only 2 children - with such talented kids she should have been kept barefoot and pregnant for at least 12 years
Most if not all handball fans in denmark knew of him and his potential. But I will say that it is also has alot to do with his parents. Especially his father, who was perhaps the most successful coaches for the denmark woman team in handball. So through his father and their last name being unique'ish he was already from a young age in television talking about what he wanted in his future and such. Also we have seen him being a dominating profile in the danish league for 2 years before this. No one had expected he would perform to this level in the world cup though that I will give you. I thought he would be great ... But not that great~
You should make a Best of series from the World Championship 2023 ! :D Maybe not for all countries - but there was plenty of talent at the Championship to make compilations of for sure.
