I wanna thank you morning sun I wanna thank you loaded gun Now I know I'm not the only one I wanna thank you lonely ghost When all the calls were close Seems like you cared the most I wanna thank you. Dad died when I was 9. Mom worked 80+ hours a week. I taught myself what it took to be a man, while growing up as the complete opposite during my youth until I enlisted with the US Army as an infantryman. DId 2 tours in AFG and got what I was looking for... A gun in my mouth with it aimed at my brainstem. But I keep breathing, because that's the point of breathing to begin with; live. Much has happened during those 10 years now, but I am thankful for it all. Even as I care for my mother that is in the final stages of her stage IV breast cancer as I have been chipped away into a bleak shadow of my former self, I wanna thank you; I can laugh at it now.
Da Koolkat when they're together they become a singularity so actually meeting Gnarls Barkley would be meeting them both, much better than just one or the other.
My Nephew introduced this Wave long ago,I liked when Ceelo rappedbut now i just love the different expressions of art as i get a little wiser. You really have to explore the gifts that The Father above has given.
Holy fuck... went through hell - took care of both my parents to their very last breath... at the same time.. They were grateful but it hurt like hell. I am over a year on and holy shit I just found this track. Goddamn!
great song ...sounds a bit slow though. I've made this argument before, and I'm quite sure it's "A wanna thank you loaded gun ...now I know I'm not the only one..." He sings about offing himself enough, plus there was a pic of a gun on the last CD ...plus it makes more sense than "lowly dirt."
It’s not “ I wanna thank you lowly dirt” It’s, “ I wanna thank you loaded gun, now I know I am not the only one” earlier in the song he talks about learning he wasn’t too young to be gone and that he could of died long ago. He was obviously abused by his parents and thought of killing himself. The song is about fighting for life and making it to the other side, “ one step at a time”. This is all according to Danger Mouse in an MTV video after they did the promo commercial for this song that was stripped down. Beautiful song. Definitely hits a cord with me. Cheers 🥂
Gnarls Barkley changed my life...and continues to inspire me
I relate to this song's every word. What an anthem.
Amen.
I wanna thank you morning sun
I wanna thank you loaded gun
Now I know I'm not the only one
I wanna thank you lonely ghost
When all the calls were close
Seems like you cared the most
I wanna thank you.

It feels a little better with lyrics

partially.
I've got a heart made of gold in me.
Hah, can you believe this is where I've been?
And when adversity comes again.
I'll deal with it then.

Why does this one sound different? I like it more than the other version of this song I heard, the downtrodden subtle sound fits it better.
