New Thomas Day State Historic Site Visit!

Today has been such a wonderful day!
We got to visit Milton, NC and the Thomas Day State Historic Site, the newest historic site in NC. We were able to tour around the house that doubled as a workshop and home for Day, as well see some of his beautifully crafted furniture pieces. We heard from people behind the scenes that have worked to get this historic site ready for its big day, got to watch phenomenal artisans Jerome Bias and Elia Bizzarri in the workshop, and even got to meet some descendants of Thomas Day.
We will share more about this event in the future, but for now we just can’t say enough amazing things about the site itself and those that have worked to make it happen. Thomas Day is a huge part of the story of North Carolina furniture, and we couldn’t be happier that his workshop and home are now a part of a group of unique NC historic sites.
