When I watched Rang de Basanti as a kid, it didn't make sense for me, but watched recently and absolutely loved the idea.. These movies, if made today will face a lot of backlash because due to social media people are a lot more aware and are very angry at bollywood's biased narrative. The problem isn't these people selling their narrative the problem is them stopping anyone else from providing any counternarrative and now when people are recognizing and criticizing their monopoly they are blaming the very cancel culture they created.
Well for me the good change is that we are also giving equal credibility to regional cinema.. I remember it was 2010 when I watched SS Rajamouli's epic movie, Magadheera and was flabbergasted by the beautiful visuals and the quality of VFX used, Plus the story, the action sequences, the direction and acting.. all were top notch and the question in my mind was, will this ever be remade in bollywood, now the time has come, when the dubbed versions are equally awesome.. plus with Baahubali and RRR, Rajamouli has taken Indian Cinema to a whole new level (Trust me, if you enjoyed the three, you are definitely gonna love Magadheera) Bad change is that people is now going bezerk over everything.. even before the release.. If you remember Padmavat, it was so controversial that even SLB was beaten up by a mob.. and the same people who opposed the movie, loved and lauded it after the release, similar with chappak..another thing, They hate any actor or actress just because they belong to a movie family, irrespective of how talented they are Yes, I respect the sentiments and opinions but one should always first analyse and be unbiased, then express their opinions

Yes this is true people perception has changed over the years. At that time while watching PK in the theater me and my family never realised that some scenes may have led to huge controversies, also everyone watching film were enjoying it. But all of the films were masterpieces.

I don’t understand why some people has suddenly started talking about intolerance and agitation against the films. Many movies like Bombay, Gadar etc also had to face many controversies but I don’t think some people want to discuss about it.
The amount of controversies the makers of gadar and bombay have faced if nowdays filmmakers faced it even 10% of it they will forever stop making films.
If you see Haider as Hamlet point of view, then it's ok. It's a very very good adaptation. Shakespeare must be proud of this. Being an English literature student, I can say, the Bismil song is the perfect portrayal of Hamlet's voice. 🙏🏼😌

positive aspect- people are now more aware of what they are being shown... negative aspect- people just start judging without even watching the movie.... I remember how much backlash gehraiyaan and gangubai was receiving days before release just because of the trailer and the actors/makers involved in it.... similar case with attack, people called it a remake of ismart shankar, upgrade, robocop and what not but the film's story was different from all those(concept was same tho)...
In PK movie it showed about a THUG baba.. Why not any Maulana or father .. Why in any Bollywood horror movie Maulwi wins over the ghost.. Why every BRAHMIN is stereotyped as comedian and Muslim as a godmen like Rahim chacha.. There are many more propaganda which is busted now.. all the films you mentioned are somehow technically very good but the problem starts when they starts glorifying terrorism , naxalism , making fun of hindu gods , targetting a particular religion , showing India in the most possible stereotypical way, genralising social issues and most importantly indian culture in very bad manner etc in such a subtled way that audience doesn't realises it . Haider showcased how cruel indian army is towards the people , and sympathising separatist, showing ancient martand temple as devil's home in the name of shakespeare adaptation but it got national award in best director category , no doubt its technically brilliant but thing is after what they showcased in the films then also government of that time awarded them .So its true that what kind of film is gonna made depends very much on the government ideology of that time , otherwise why didn't kashmir files made in 2022 only , why not in 2013 ?and is it even possible to make it at that time considering the fact that even now what director of kashmir files faced during filming of the film and the fact that he is making a film where he is exposing someone who comes to meet prime minister of India in 2013 publically . These movies, if made today will face a lot of backlash because due to social media people are a lot more aware and are very angry at bollywood's biased narrative. The problem isn't these people selling their narrative the problem is them stopping anyone else from providing any counternarrative and now when people are recognizing and criticizing their monopoly they are blaming the very cancel culture they created.
Well for me the good change is that we are also giving equal credibility to regional cinema.. I remember it was 2010 when I watched SS Rajamouli's epic movie, Magadheera and was flabbergasted by the beautiful visuals and the quality of VFX used, Plus the story, the action sequences, the direction and acting.. all were top notch and the question in my mind was, will this ever be remade in bollywood, now the time has come, when the dubbed versions are equally awesome.. plus with Baahubali and RRR, Rajamouli has taken Indian Cinema to a whole new level (Trust me, if you enjoyed the three, you are definitely gonna love Magadheera)

back in 2014 when I watched pk i enjoyed it so much... as a 15 year old all i saw was entertainment... but now as a 23 year old, I realised that there are some elements which are kind of offensive.... but still pk remains one of my favourites forever... aamir khan will always be a man who entertained us 2000s kids no matter how much hate he gets today...

people are now more aware of what they are being shown...

people just start judging without even watching the movie.... I remember how much backlash gehraiyaan and gangubai was receiving days before release just because of the trailer and the actors/makers involved in it.... similar case with attack, people called it a remake of ismart shankar, upgrade, robocop and what not but the film's story was different from all those(concept was same tho)...
In PK movie it showed about a THUG baba.. Why not any Maulana or father .. Why in any Bollywood horror movie Maulwi wins over the ghost.. Why every BRAHMIN is stereotyped as comedian and Muslim as a godmen like Rahim chacha.. There are many more propaganda which is busted now.. all the films you mentioned are somehow technically very good but the problem starts when they starts glorifying terrorism , naxalism , making fun of hindu gods , targetting a particular religion , showing India in the most possible stereotypical way, genralising social issues and most importantly indian culture in very bad manner etc in such a subtled way that audience doesn't realises it .
Haider showcased how cruel indian army is towards the people , and sympathising separatist, showing ancient martand temple as devil's home in the name of shakespeare adaptation but it got national award in best director category , no doubt its technically brilliant but thing is after what they showcased in the films then also government of that time awarded them .So its true that what kind of film is gonna made depends very much on the government ideology of that time , otherwise why didn't kashmir files made in 2022 only , why not in 2013 ?and is it even possible to make it at that time considering the fact that even now what director of kashmir files faced during filming of the film and the fact that he is making a film where he is exposing someone who comes to meet prime minister of India in 2013 publically .
