    You are a God living amongst us mere mortals. Your command of 3D is astounding. If I was a millionaire, I would fly you to Australia and throw money at you until I achieved even 1/10th the proficiency you have. Huge respect.

    I have been using 3ds max for 30 years. Its name was 3d studio and it was running on Ms-Dos, not windows. 30 years of usage and I am still learning from you.

    I don't know what to say man, 2000 videos, on that you are right, but you forget the main point, there were plenty of examples on how to use your technics. And by far the best ones were when you used the knife tool. The HOLY KUKRI KNIFE 3d model was one of the best, I hope I wrote that right. It's not just about showing the technics. I think it would been simple to just reorganize the channel, the technics in one group for 3DS max, and Blender divided, and then the rest of the 3d models you made as examples. I managed to get through your first 100 videos a few years back right before college started again, and I learn alot just from watching them. Your idea isn't bad, but neither completely good. And besides, some of us, if not most of us, sometimes just like to watch, hit the like button, and comeback later in time to rewatch and do then some of the examples you did.

    Wonderful video. As technology changes so to must our techniques adapt, or change, with it to make the most of it. There are some amazing videos with the techniques shown in the beginning of this video on your other channel but it would take me forever to search through them. Not to mention I would need to have them at the ready if I happened to forget something. Tabs on Tabs on Tabs (no thanks). But this 1 video has a lot of information from still valid videos in 1 place in addition to some new stuff due to new features within 3DS Max. Honestly ...I love it. Cheers! Stay Healthy and Stay Sane!

    I'm loving this master your tools series more than the simple modelling requests - I'd just love to watch you build complex shapes and advanced models using interesting and creative modelling techniques similar to how @sirunique creates their work/content. It's WAY more rewarding I think.

    What do you mean by low quality content? For me, with your tutorials I have pushed my modeling in 3 months from strugling to pro! That were some awesome lessons, especialy for Zbrush, which I have learned and understood only with your guidance! Michael Pavlovich is good, but you are so detailed in what and why!
    And REQUESTs playlist is one of the best and usefull I have ever watched with explaining how to aproach any problem!

    I'm still a little confused. While it is better to use operands of similar density when using in booleans operations, It is better to use more o less dense operands? It looks that if you use denser objects you can obtain both high-poly and also low-poly results afterwards with retopology tools. But if you use less dense objects it looks that's easier to repair the results by hand as seen in the vid...

    On what version of Max is the Re topology in Modifier?

  • @bill_birba
    @bill_birba ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Arrimus. I love your content. By the release of boolean modifier, probably in max 2024, all these approaches will belong in the past!!!

    is there any video explaining how to get rapidTools? and how do you have your setup with the modifiers already displayed there?

  • @KaygisizMert
    @KaygisizMert ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a theory for the loop at around 6.00 .when we have a cylindrical boolean on a flat surface max creates an hidden edge from one of the cylinder to one of the edges, which can be found by edge selection, it is there but invisible. That hidden edge is breaking the loop selection

    • @ozzyhattermann8307
      @ozzyhattermann8307 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to trick max by CTRL+A selecting all edges and converting it to editable mesh, then the invisible edge will be selected. Scroll down in the mesh editing menu and check "visible." This can be done for all the other invisible edges too.

    • @KaygisizMert
      @KaygisizMert ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ozzyhattermann8307 I've came across that problem while working with splines and adding edit poly on top, I simply look for it manually and add my own edge along axis to create a better topology rather than collapsing to mesh. Not that it's a better solution but a personal one

    Why do you use the proboolean compound tool instead of the (new) boolean stack modifier?

  • @CoCoNOFox
    @CoCoNOFox ปีที่แล้ว

    When I use boolean or pro boleean i sometimes get garbage or outright doesn't work

  • @eb7898i

    What are you gaining by using Pro Boolean over Boolean ? Pro Boolean is older IIRC.

  • @aydar1995
    @aydar1995 ปีที่แล้ว

    4:20
    But if you do not initially insert support loops, then extra points do not appear after the Boolean. What is it connected with? Is it because of too much information? And yes, at what point did it become possible in 3dmax to insert loops with the wrong topology?
    _______________
    Но если изначально не вставлять петли поддержки, то после булеана не появляются лишние точки. С чем это связано? Неужели из-за излишней информации. И да, в какой момент в 3dmax появилась возможность вставлять лупы при неправильной топологии?

    Tip for Good Booleans - use Blender, as this mess at 4:20 not "sometimes", but always when you select "no edge removal", and "sometimes" (rather often) when you do not select this option.
