UPDATE - It is slightly different for a Vespa VNA (1958). I just completed the replacement job and on my Vespa the bearing was not ring with the bearings attached to it, but rather separate loose ball bearings sitting in a recessed channel (bearing housing) underneath the two lock nut rings AND there are loose ball bearing at the very bottom of the steering column tube (just above where the front wheel fender would be). When I took the steering column out of the tube, the bearing went everywhere on the floor because I didn't know they were there. I lost some, but was able to replace them with ball bearing I got from the hardware store. Also, the top bearing housing could not be removed on my Vespa. It appeared to be permanently attached. I had to feed the new lock up through the bottom tube opening.
Hi, I have a Vespa L 50cc from 1965. Recently got a Vespa 125 from 1959, VNA model. I am missing the key, but it's unlock. On my Vespa L it doesnt matter to have the key or not to start the Vespa. The lock has nothing to do with the ignition . Is it the same for the Vespa VNA ? Thanks a lot

Hi, I have a Vespa L 50cc from 1965. Recently got a Vespa 125 from 1959, VNA model. I am missing the key, but it's unlock. On my Vespa L it doesnt matter to have the key or not to start the Vespa. The lock has nothing to do with the ignition or a metal contact. Is it the same for the Vespa VNA ? Thanks a lot
