The hyperfixations are very relatable lol. I mainly switch between my different hobbies (crochet/knitting, reading, writing, studying, working out) and have these phases where I do nothing else besides the fixated hobby for hours on end, without realizing that I need to eat, go to the toilet and sleep. I too have been like that since I was a child. Ever since I got diagnosed last year I know that it is part of my auDHD and since then I’ve gotten a lot better at navigating these phases. I still do like them a lot, because they reflect that I’m passionate, but I sometimes crave for more stability in my activities…
I’m always amazed by how you do so many big projects. I dont have much time because of school so I dont do big projects often because it would take me LITERALLY months. But how you design and recreate so many things just amazes me! In my opinion you are definitely an artist!!
I highly recommend using a simple bandeau bra under the brown tube top! It's so pretty and that would take care of any exposure issues! Thank you for another excellent video!!
i’m exactly the same way where i fixate on something when i start doing it! i started running and now i can’t stop watching videos related to running 😭
I understand about how you feel about your art. I used to feel the same way. I've loved fiber arts my whole life. I got a degree in education because I needed to make some money. Then I got a degree in fiber arts. I started wi weaving and now I'm slow stitching and everything else in between. I'm retired from teaching but still doing art I'm 73. I love your art , don't worry just keep on doing... lovely work.
You ARE a true artist ❤. I wish you wouldn´t doubt yourself. I have watched several of your vlogs, and I really love the majority of your pieces, both the design and the color choices that you do. So just keep up the good work, and KNOW that WE who watch you are really impressed by your work. I am inspired to make similar things for my own vlogs, and YOU are one of my inspirations. Please don´t think lesser of yourself ❤
as an ADHDer the hyperfixation thing is relatable. at 32 years old ive learned to just go with the flow. but it is frustrating to have a ton of unfinished projects bc i got hyperfixated on something else
Love this video! I'm very similar- summer is my least favorite season, because I don't like the humidity, bugs, and sunburns, and various other things... I do try to embrace it of course and I don't hate it, but I definitely experience more joy during the other seasons lol The fixating on new and different hobbies is very relatable- I have always been like that and wouldn't have it any other way! It keeps life full of adventures, excitement, and always gives you something to look forward to! 😊
Always be proud of what you do. Remember Bob Ross " We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents. Talent is a pursued interest. Anything that you're willing to practice, you can do." Have a safe trip. We got to visit before Covid hit afterwards they basically closed off any visitors.
I have to say, i love these chill vlog/tutorial combos, it's really nice to listen to while working on my own projects. The cardigan is so bright and colorful, I love it!
Maybe this is just me but I started working out years ago, same as creative hobbies and I think both areas are so important as outlets for our emotions. The way Training and creativity have impacted my mental health is crazy!
14:00 so true. i havent made a large illustration piece in a while, just little doodles here and there (and huge knitting projects... which isn't my bread and butter so to speak) so im feeling less like an artist. which is dumb! im still creating a whole lot of things!
I understand completely.. I'm obsessed with making tops (bralettes) I remember when I would get super frustrated because I couldn't get it down. Now I can make them without a tutorial. I'm proud of myself as I go. I love crochet I am absolutely hooked lol. Btw I love watching your videos when I crochet. You help me stay focused and I love how real you are. Stay lovely and stay creative ❤😊
With regards to the second channel- if you haven't posted there yet, here's some feedback!... This channel in itself to me feels like a place where I get togo visit a friend I haven't seen in a few weeks, sit with them to do some crochet, and they show me in detail the progress they made on their own crochet projects... in between showing me their crochet, they also tell me about various things they've been up to since we've last seen each other: "I read this book, I watched this show, I started this new workout routine, I'm brushing up on my conversational Japanese" etc. And when I hang out with a friend in real life, they might tell me about a restaurant they tried, a comic book they read, a new movie that's coming out soon, etc. Whether I would actually do any of those things or not, I'm happy to listen because these are the things that make my friend happy, which makes me happy to hear they are experiencing joy from these things 😊 If that makes any sense at all, I would encourage you to simply continue to casually share these things during cutaway shots as you've always done. They don't bother me, or likely anyone else who is here to hang out on this channel. Keeping the vibe positive, interactive, and as a place to wind down and relax is so unique in itself. I enjoy other fiber arts content, but I certainly don't experience those things on other channels! Unless you really want to deep dive into another genre or subject matter altogether, keeping your content in one place will prevent splitting your attention, workload, time, and even your audiences... and reduce the risk of burnout. Hope this helps! Fawn 😊
I call those thoughts “Artist insecurities”. Every single artist of any medium and craft has them. They are different for everyone, but we all feel like we are faking being an artist or aren’t good enough. And it’s up to us as the artist to combat those insecurities ❤❤❤
I love that you're always pushing yourself to try new things and increase your skill level. You've inspired me to do the same. Please don't be too hard on yourself, remember that we're all in awe of your skill, talent, and artistry :)
As a fellow hyperfixator, being a jack of all trades is something else… punch needling is super fun! The possibilities are endless from rugs to bags to mug rugs to slippers!!! Hope ya get to try it out eventually :D
Just discovered you! Happily adding your channel to my knitting favs. And happy to hear you chat about anything like music or books. Listening to you chat about life and knitting and the creative process is relaxing and makes me feel positive. Been in a bit of a frustrated place with all of my WIPs. Feeling like I want to pick up one tonight. 😀
I’m Japanese and already know you love Japanese stuff because your room has so many Japanese characters 😆❤and yes stationary is always cute good quality 🧡🫶🏼 Have fun your trip 🥰
I love the rainbow cardigan!! I think it's perfect literally for every occasion and every season. I've been in a crochet slump for about three weeks, and this video really inspired me to make new clothes. I don't really 'design' crochet items, I usually just use patterns from the internet but now I want to make sth my own
Hi you're my favorite youtuber and i really liked this upload because it sort of made me feel like i had a knit/crochet buddy that i was just listening to while they crochet/knit with me. It brought me out of my crochet slump and i want to thank you so much for that!
I get so excited whenever you post! You are definitely an artist and a wonderful one at that. You inspired me to crochet my first ever project and post a crochet video! Thank you for sharing your journey with us 💛🧶
So I found you through your local yarn store vidoe and I just wanted to say I'm so happy to have found your channel! I love the amigurumi focused youtubers as well but you're a breath of fresh air amongst yarntubers for focusing more on wearables which I'm personally more interested in at this moment on my crochet/knitting journey :). I also love that you use more interesting yarn than the usual chenille/acrylic/sugar and cream I see on YT. I would 100% buy a pattern book from you, especially if it had both crochet and knitting patterns!
Ahhhh this stuff is all so cute! I want to make another hexagon cardigan now. I really love your chatty vlogs, you just seem like such a cool person. I hope your trip to Japan is awesome!
I can totally relate to fixating on things and I've been stuck on working out since April haha it's great though, my Garmin watch is contributing a lot to it. I also recently started knitting and I'm obsessed with it. If only my work schedule allowed me to do more that I actually enjoy 😭
I am by no means an expert on publishing books and I don't know how other crochet artists do it, but I do know self publishing is an option. I did it once a long time ago for a book I wrote. If I recall correctly, you have to purchase an ISBN and then you find a publisher (there are a few online) and pay them to publish and print your book for you. I'm not sure if this is how other people do it, but maybe it will give you a starting point
this video makes me feel like we are just like friends chillin and crafting together :D always love your vibes in your videos. im ALSO going to japan this fall so that made it extra feel like we were just friends LOL anyway always love seeing your creative mind at work
I'm inspired and amazed! Like your videos, calm voice and background music And I really liked the first two-tone top, wanna make it for myself, I liked that color combination You are a good artist, so I look forward to your next videos and wish you success in Japanese!
I dont know much about publishing but i did publish a book through Amazon Direct Publishing. It allows the creator to upload a pdf of the book and it is print by order so you dont have to deal with storing your stock. You will also need an ISBN! Hope this helps xx
I am so interested in learning more fiber arts myself, I have been hyperfixating on handspinning yarn. Its a whole rabbit hole if its own, but has been so interesting and feels like magic when can pull some fluff into yarn, like pulling yarn out of thin air. Drop spindles are very affordable and I think easy to learn on. Jillian eve on TH-cam have great tutorials for drop spindle spinning if you ever want to try.
that adhd hyperfixation hits me hard! I have quite the hobby graveyard because of it! lol. Hoping my crocheting fixation lasts forever though. I miss my working out days though and need to get back on that wagon soon!!!
I really just wanna say thank you! This is my first time ever coming across your channel, and you actually inspire me to take pride in the things I love. I've been crocheting for 9 years, and I was made fun of a lot when I was in elementary all the way up til highschool for it. So I normally kept it a secret, until one day out the blue it became a trend.😭😭 I'm still in the process of making products for my market along with growing my own community. Do you have any tips?
oh no! I really hate it when people make fun of others for enjoying what they enjoy. I'm so sorry you were made fun of because of it :((( I personally haven't done a market before ! But in terms of growing a community, I would say to just continue to post about your WIPs and completed projects and connect with others in the community (following them , interacting with their content, etc). and hopefully it'll grow :)
I am so looking forward to that rafting book ❤your Videos are so good for teaching, I can only imagen how good this book would be. Please Please add the pattern for the Cat Beanie and the Sakura Ponch. I would really like to make them, but I prefer a written pattern ❤ any way keep it up but take care of yourself
I love how the hexagon cardigan turned out!! about how much yarn did yours take? i feel like mine always come out too small bc i underestimate how much yarn I need 😔
i love your necklace and background surroundings, i have tried 30 million time to knit but i fail at it, i like to crochet better, love that clam shell chair, i had one before when i was 14 now i am 54 and cant seem to find one
Hiii ilysm since i came early 💗🎀 just a suggestion you can make more vlogs like everyday vlogs doesn't have to be crocheting or knitting cuz girl we miss u sm 😭💗💗( u also don't have to pressure ur self
I swore I dreamt about this uploading the night before. But still happy it's finally here
haha it did! but I had to take it down cause some of the audio was messed up :)
I knew I wasn’t trippin 😩 lol!
Sounds like a nice dream🤣🤣

this sounds like me and my friends keep pointing it out but my parents would never take me for a diagnosis to atleast check, just incase yk :(
I’m always amazed by how you do so many big projects. I dont have much time because of school so I dont do big projects often because it would take me LITERALLY months. But how you design and recreate so many things just amazes me! In my opinion you are definitely an artist!!

I understand completely..

You are so refreshing and inspirational! PLEASE never STOP!!! I love your perspective on what being an artist is in this realm -

i feel this 😔 some day soon i hope you feel that your projects reflect your artistry 🥺
What editing software do you normally use ?
how come you can wear cotton in the water, but not acrylic?
Hiii ilysm since i came early 💗🎀 just a suggestion you can make more vlogs like everyday vlogs doesn't have to be crocheting or knitting cuz girl we miss u sm 😭💗💗( u also don't have to pressure ur self
awwww thank you for the suggestion!
