You're probably one of the most beautiful women I know and the fact that you made this video and be so honest about something as taboo as hairloss means so much to me. I had a sizeable chunk of my hair pulled out due to physical abuse from my mother and I still feel ashamed and embarrassed at how sparse my hairline is, wondering if I'll ever grow it back. So the fact that you have this same issue but can still be so elegant and beautiful gives me so much confidence.

hi! I had hair loss too and lost the sides of my hair but now it's all better. what I did was
    1) refrain from straightening the new hair/hair around bald patches
    2) lots of coconut oil and almond oil
    3) don't use shampoo on the area. use only a small amount of conditioner
    4) try to be happy. stress is a huge contributing factor
    5) medications. your doctor would've prescribed something for you and take medications on time and follow instructions
    6) don't tug on the hair on/surrounding the bald spots
that's what I did and it took me 13 months for everything to grow back but mine was a bit more severe than yours
    hope this helps you.
hair loss destroyed my confidence and I don't want anyone else to go through that.

It's all dietary it all is influenced by genetics and your vitamin intake. There is no magic potion oil that can help hair grow but topical ointments ,products ,and oil's can strengthen and repair damage which can lead to less breakage of hair but I repeat and repeat there is nothing you can put on your head to make hair grow

    • @courtneybaggott2552
      @courtneybaggott2552 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

Lars John That's true to a point. In beauty school we learn that there are no natural remedies that make hair grow, like you said, but there are two chemicals that have been proven to make hair grow back. The one that's safe for women to use is called Minoxidil. Anything that claims to grow back hair and doesn't contain minoxidil is a fluke and you're wasting your money

Crystal Carmel yes it helps stimulate the follicles which can encourage your growth but it has nothing to do with the coconut oil itself

  • @robintjes
    @robintjes 7 ปีที่แล้ว +313

Such a beautiful and INSPIRING video!
First of all I want to say, don't stress!!!
Because a friend of mine had the same problem after she gave birth to her second child. She was stressed because of circumstances. And she noticed her hair was falling out at the edges.
She covered it, just like you and was patient. It all grew back :)
I now have the same problem (not a mom tho and not pregnant). So also working on it.
    My tips:
    1. You were totally right about how you tie your hair! The best is to use clips and try not to keep your hair (too) thight.
    2. Have you done a blood test? If you do this, you will get to know if you have to take more vitamins, like B12, Zink, Iron...
    3. Are you eating the right amounts of food? Especially now you are a vegan (tip 2 can help you get to know this)
I recommend eating nuts, sweet potatoes, spinach etc (research on internet)
    4. Are you drinking enough water?
    5. Do you work out? (I think working out, sweats all the dirt out of our body and also promotes a better blood circulation
    6. Try to massage your hair when you wash your hair, when you oil your hair and a minute or less before going to sleep. You can also comb your hair before going to sleep, it kind of also massage the scalp.
    7. Coconot oil is recommended by many. Try not to use too much (like it will drip off your head), because your head is already producing natural oils itself.
Before I wash my hair I put the oil on my scalp while massaging it (also in the rest of my hair). I let it sit for 15 min and than wash my hair with shampoo.
    8. How do you comb your hair? Do you begin at the end and brush slowly upwards? That is recommended :)
    9. What pillowcase do you use and do you change it often?
    10. I read somewhere that when you steam your scalp or just put a soaked warm towel on it, than rub onion or garlic or both on the areas of the hairloss. You can also prick lightly with a needle on the areas and rub on it with garlic or onion. It will stimulate growth of the hair which are really thin but also of the hairs who aren't growing out.
I do have to say that I don't know this for sure. I am trying this out this week. It was a tip from someone and I think there is logic in it. But you will have to decide it yourself :)
    10. Don't stress too much, too much stress also gives hairloss
    11. It also could be that you have a bacteria on the head. I had, my doctor said. (I thought I just had too much dandruff tho). She gave me a shampoo with a red pink color.
If you have too much dandruff this also can causes hairloss and red areas (irritated scalp). The shampoo did work, my dandruff and the itching went away which helped my hair to grow normal again. (This was 2 years ago.)
    12. Don't try too much stuff on your hair. I tried argan oil and my hair was falling out really bad. I thought maybe my hair/head had to get used to it so I kept using it. Pffff a friend off mine and I lost so much hair that we stopped. People found it weird, cause they only hear good stuff about argan oil. But i think maybe it depends on what your body can take. Maybe i was allergic to it (nuts). Or maybe the oil wasn't like organic or maybe not for the hair...
    13. Don't blowdry or straighten too much.
    14. Also don't try to colour your hair often.
    15. Do you sleep well? Do you take your time to rest?
    16. Clean your haircomb regularly, especially when there is dust in it.
    17. If you wash your hair, don't use hot water!
And rinse it one more time after you are done, with cold water. So the hair pores will be closed. This will also prevent more hairloss.
    18. Use natural shampoo. I think personally shampoos nowadays have lots of chemicals in it for a nice smell, for soft hair and shiney hair. Well I think the best way to wash your hair is a more natural shampoo. You can buy it for example at Lush. But please test it first, cause I am not an expert. :)
    I hope this helps!
I would say please do a bloodtest and let the doctor check you,
Eat healthy and good proportioned (many fruits and vegetables and also with variety of course)
Drink 1,5 L water or what is recommended
Massage the scalp with coconut oil.
I'd love to hear after a while that your hair is growing back. I know it will!
Positive vibes only! The law of attraction ❤

the most aggressive natural hair growth treatment is an essential oil blend. 1 part basil essential oil, 2 parts rosemary essential oil, 1 part lavender essential oil, 1 part lemon essential oil and 1 part castor oil. Blend them all together and apply this to the thin areas twice a day (morning and night). In the morning wipe off the areas with a wipe or cleansing towel, or simply wash those areas before you put on the oil blend so it gets a fresh application. Don't use sulfates or even "non-sulfate" like Cocamidopropyl betaine in your shampoo at all all. Surfactants no matter how they are made are all bad for skin hair and nails. Dr. Bronners castile soaps make great all over hair and body cleansers. Also condition and co-wash with a thick conditioner with staying power, doesn't have to be expensive. Suave professionals is cheap and effective. This oil blend works well by itself or with the inversion method but always massage it into the areas or your whole scalp for at least 30 seconds to stimulate the blood flow.

    • @AlexandrasGirlyTalk
      @AlexandrasGirlyTalk  7 ปีที่แล้ว +28

+Dante Velasquez thank you so much for the info girl! You can use Dr Bronners on your hair?!

    • @DanteVelasquez
      @DanteVelasquez 7 ปีที่แล้ว +20

yes! Castile soap is the gentlest cleanser that exists for hair skin and nails. Also great as a laundry detergent and household cleanser. You can also mix it with oils to make natural diy shampoos and body washes. I have been making my own skin and hair care products for years with no chemicals.

Hairloss.. I've used a home remedy to fix it which is traditional in our family and it works out best. Just mix 2 egg yellows, olive oil, several spoons of castor oil and liquid vitamim A. Apply them on unwashed hair and keep it one hour (like a mask. it will be messy, but put some towel around your neck or something). Then you wash it off with shampoo and conditioner as you would normally do. I suggest using shampoo twice before conditioner bc of the olive oil. This mask not only grows new hair, but also makes the hair soooo smooth and shiny ! You can use this once every 3 weeks or something. You can see immediate results on your hair texture after first try, but you can see serious results after 3 applications! This is my holy grail

Alex!!! please read this!! Try to make once a week a juice from onion garlic and ginger and put the juice all over your scalp , massage it with your head down (or not, i just like to do it stting in a chair with my head between my legs and let it for at least an hour, rinse with water and other day (or the same day if you have time) use castor oil with e vitamin all over the scalp let it for at least an hour or even overnight and wash like normally , i recommend the last rinse with water to be the cooler you can support (lo mas frio que aguantes) for 10 sec, ive hears some essential oils that are awesome for some people like peppermint, lavender oil, rosemary, sage, thyme... buti honestly just tried what i told you and it really really works trust me! i dont have instagram or social media to share pictures but i really wish you read this and that it helps, i love you so much and you are a awesome mom, i feel so happy for you por esta nueva etapa de tu vida

I had an issue with hair loss when I was going through a bad depression last year. Alot of it had to do with stress and not eating right. I started taking vitamins that are good for hair health, like B12 and Keratin. I find flipping your head upside down and massaging your scalp to work well too, it helps the circulation and is suppose to stimulate hair growth.

You should try ginger, just cut it so its open and jab a knife at the end so it's juices begin to fall out, then rub the juices in your bald areas and leave for 2-3 hours, or even overnight.
Also oils are one of the best remedies for hair loss. Coconut oil is amazing for growing hair, as well as Castor oil. My mum mixes about 5-6 oils into one and we use that as a deep conditioning treatments once /twice a week: Iv notice less fallout, more baby hairs, thicker and healthier hair. Id suggest mixing: coconut, mustard, olive, castor, vatika hair oil (the original one) and amla oil. You can find them at most Pakistani/Indian/African shops.
    Hope this helps Andrea 💚

Along with all the oils mentioned below peppermint oil is also good to stimulate the follicles. Also hanging your head from the side of the bed and letting the blood flow to your scalp while massaging the spots. I already see hair growth on you! You're gorgeous xo ♥️

I lost a about 2/3 to 3/4 of my hair due to trauma, shock and stress from a near fatal traffic accident, 30 surgeries, reconstructions and transplants, a lot of anesthesia, anti biotics and morphine.
I was very sad that I was nearly balf on top of everything else, but then a pharmacist told me the best hair medication out there to help regrow hair is a product called Cystene B6 zinc from Bailleul. He said he had been to medical conferences where they had tested and discussed different hair treatment products.
I take a course of 2 tablets twice a day (so 4 tablets a day) for three months.
Hereafter you must have a 3 months resting period with no tablets.
Then again a 3 months course of 2 tablets twice a day.
Just repeat that as long as you want. I will maybe do it for another two years or more or just keep on doing it, as it strengthens my hair, but most importantly most of my hair grew back. I now have baby hairs again! 😊
I hope this can help you. All the best to you.

hi alex! for me it helped to make bangs, because then your front hairline is never under tension and can hang down naturally, the hair is short in the bangs which makes them easier to grow! of course massaging the scalp with castor oil and very important: mustard oil kickstarts hair growth. i even noticed baby hair in the front hair line! i hope your hair will grow back quickly, xoxo

Have you heard of/tried Toppik hair building fibers? I have female pattern baldness and these hair fibers were an amazing find. You shake them into your hair and they attach to your hair shaft and scalp to erase bald spots completely. I have balding hair on the entire crown of my scalp and even with my extensive hair loss they still work and give the illusion of a complete head of hair. I don't have any volume, but the hair fibers still go a long way in making me feel comfortable to walk out of the house.

i have alopecia areata which is an auto immune disorder that makes you lose your hair in little circular patches. it's not because of stress or anything like that- an auto immune disorder means that your body attacks a part of itself thinking that it's dangerous or foreign when it's not.
i started getting it when i was 16 and after a few months and a new dermatologist my hair started coming back. my awesome dermatologist gave me cortisone shots on my scalp in the areas that were bald. it sounds painful and scary but it helps SO MUCH. for me the hair starts growing in within a very short time of getting the shots.
even though the shots work so well for me i still get bald spots every couple of years and i used to be really self conscious about them. they always crop up towards the back of my head next to my part. when i got the first one at 16 i always pinned a chunk of hair over the spot so no one could see but now that i'm 22 i've learned to live with my bald spots when i get them. i figure that there are always wigs, hats, extensions or alternative hairstyles that i can use to cover them if i want to.
since your hairline had thinned more gradually rather than fallen out all at once it's probably not auto immune but i would still recommend going to a dermatologist if you want some tips for growing it back- i'm so glad that i went to see an expert for my hair loss bc he really helped me out.
your ponytail method is a good tip ! good luck with everything ❤

Congratulations on the new baby. I am sorry you are going through this, but it is very courageous of you to share this with your audience. I am sure it will serve as an inspiration to other women that may be going through this. I have really fine, thin hair and although my hair is not going to grow back, I have learned to love myself as I am and I hope that other women do the same. If one day my best option is to shave my head and wear it bald, I will! :) FYI: My doctor said that Rogaine is the only solution to be clinically proven to stop hair loss, but that also means you can not stop using Rogaine. I didn't want to commit to that when I was in my 20's... But that is an option.

I’m 17 and I have the exact same hair loss situation. I think it’s a mix of being malnourished as a kid, on no fault of my parents rest assured, and that I started ballet from the age of 3 and spent a solid 12 years of my short life having my hair dragged up into prima ballerina buns. This video has really helped me try and figure out how to feel more confident with these fixes. I remember 2 years ago a little girl actually asked me if I had shaved those areas of my head; it was a real low moment and super embarrassing. Earth Angel i wash my hair once a month and it helps dramatically with hair loss. I know some people get oily hair but that’s usually due to over washing. Your hair will eventually regulate itself the less you wash it. I just throw it in a bun when I shower then take it out after the shower. Also I don’t use any heat on my hair. I let it dry naturally. Thin hair runs in my family plus I had a baby 4 months ago and my hair loss is way less than I expected so far.

I had two babies and right away after giving birth i started loosing the hair, i lost more with my second pregnancy, my hair was thin to begin with but it had enough volume and it was curly so it looked cute, but after my delivery i lost so much of it that my pony was literally nonexistent, i had to cut my hair very short so that it wasn't that noticeable, i had bald spots on both sides of head, i kept losing hair until my son was 1 year old. I read that if you boil nettle leaves and wash your hair with it will help with the shedding and i did try it a few times, i noticed a difference but i was too lazy to keep on doing it and also you couldnt shampoo after the nettle so it left my hair smelling weird, but other than that it really worked, for the hair to restore back its just a waiting game, now my youngest is 5 and my hair grew back but its never the same way it was before i had my babies. Good luck!

My last kid will be 3 next month and I am so stressed out about my hair, I used to be the type of girl stylist hated because I had too much hair to work with, my pony tail was so tick it didn't fit into one hand if I tried to hold a pony, and now my hair is so think that not even my curls make it look full, before I hated leaving my curls because if I let my curls dry it looked like an Afro, now I barely look like I have hair and never ever straighten my hair anymore because is like so little, I would go as far as saying I only have about 30% of the hair I had before, it's depressing 😭😭😭😭

I have lost A LOT of hair over the years due to stress, eating habits, and plucking them out if I see broken ends. I learned to mask my hair with coconut or argan oil before I shower and trim it every 2-3 months. It also has a lot to do with my psychological state of mind and I'm working on it.

Aww I understand you fully sister! I have been wearing hijab from a really young age and that also really tighty so that gives me advantages such as not looking far too much towrards the looks of my hair adn because I have been doing that, I had hair loss just as you, and this by the way has grown within years. Finally I began to realize what damage I was doing to my hair and began loosening my scarf which helped so much, and most the time I would keep my hair in a ponytail because there was so much of it, so I began keeping it down. And the best thing that helped me the most is the Jamaican Black Castor Oil. I would put it at night and most the time keep it on the day, (the headscarf is an advantage lol, no one notices). That oil is like magic I tell you lol, it truely helped my hair and within weeks you can see drastic change. You can find it in CVS, that's where I found mine. And it costs about 10 bucks if not less. Anywho, I hope I got to help you in any way lol, and I truely understand you sis! xx

Black (Jamaican) castor oil! :) Massage it a bit and then leave it on for a few hours, or overnight if you have something to wrap around your head, so it won't stain your pillow. It's amazing for eyebrows too! And maybe try to not put your hair in a super tight bun, as it pulls at your hair. Try a looser style that you can secure with some bobbypins. Good luck! xx

Loss of hair can be because of different reasons, if it's because of stress / because of water/ season, it's will go by it's own and using of coconut butter/ castor oil /massage and other kind of cosmetic treatment . But if it's left bould skin on head as woman in video, before using on yourself any treatment better go to doctor endocrinologist and do check up on hormons, because hair loss could be indication of hormonal dissbalance. Also see trichologist this doctor is specialised in hair and skin. Hope you will be fine.

how is this a sad video just because she got a little hair loss after giving birth. while there is children dying of cancer and other illnesses. and poor kids starving in africa. innocent people who are being killed in Syria. homeless people with no food or shelter living on the streets. meanwhile everyone is feeling so sorry for a girl who lost a little hair because she gave birth. people never look at the good things they have in life or even appreciate it. They just complain and complain never ever satisfied. I guess this is the world we live in what can we do. Spread love and appreciate all the good you have and dont look at the negative. since their are people out there who are suffering and afraid. help people who are in need and feel sorry for them.

first of all i think it is amazing that you talk about it, my mum told me how she lost a lot of hair during my sisters and my pregnancy and how stressed it Made her, i think a video like this would have helped her a lot!
I lost a lot of her last year due to stress and malnutrition, what has helped me was first of fixing my eating habbits but also taking spirulina tablets.
And i rubbed coconut oil into my skalp before washing it (i also cut it really short which i thinkhelped a lot, granted my hair loss was wayyy worse) but now it is all grown back and really thick and healthy!

I put myself on a strict diet for my wedding and my hair has always shed but it really started thinning out and freaking me out cuz I don't use extensions and didn't want to start on my wedding day. I began using and still use Vida Hair Growth Shampoo + hair tonic and I've seen my baby hairs grow out, less shedding, and my part is thinner and less dry. The products are sold on dyckman at Nail Lounge but they do deliver outside of ny - and their Instagram is full of before and after pictures, usually of post partum hair loss and the success women have had by using the shampoo! Good luck on your hair journey!
