Best sickle mower ever made. If you use the hand lift it works on any tractor whether it has hydraulics or not. I used to search junkyards and farm auctions and buy every one or partial ones I could find ($5-$50 a piece for most was what they cost me 20 years ago) Had over 20 of them piled up in the shed at one time for parts and spares with 5,6 & 7ft cutter bars and most were still ready to hook up and mow. I actually bought my first one ( a seven footer) for a dollar at a farm auction one morning and mowed with it that afternoon 🤣.

Nice setup. I have my No. 5 hooked up to my 1950 John Deere G. I still mow several acres with it every hay season.

Preston this tractor would have originally been equipped with Power Lift, all up and all down. It has been upgraded to PowerTrol, where the cylinder can be stopped at any position. I only have 1 line hooked up and it is gravity drop. The PowerTrol has to be configured and it can get very confusing. There are several versions of PowerTrol. Send me any email at mmeyer@ecarthage.com and I will send you pics.

What are you putting it on? John Deere made mount brackets for almost any type of tractor. Mine are home-made brackets, and you may be able to see the chain that stabilizes it & carries a lot of the weight on the right side. I have other tractors, so the mower stays on this on, which makes it handy.
