    Great stuff. I was looking at Sioux Falls as a potential project base a couple of days ago - I'm looking forward to seeing this develop.

    Are you going to include the highway overpass in your diorama? I think it would be a great "frame" element on the right side of the diroama.

      No, there won't be enough room for it in the space I've alotted

    In this video you use a map a to view and measure the engine facility. What were you using and how did you get the 3D views; they were cool and useful. Thanks. Looking forward to this build. I bet ths info would be a big hit on the Second Section Podcast.

      Google maps (in a desktop web browser) already has the 3d buildings for Sioux Falls, so I just needed to rotate the camera view. As for measurements, you can right-click anywhere on the map and choose the measurement option from the list of menu items.

      @@JoeyBPhotography Thanks. While Sioux Falls is 3D other places like Marion, IL are 2D; why?

    • @JoeyBPhotography
      @JoeyBPhotography  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Colin King it all depends on if Google maps has 3d models for that area. A lot of places still only have 2D

    I'm thinking you should mount that table on a large lazy Susan so you can turn it 360 degrees. Then you can see it from any angle just by turning the table as a whole.

      Hah, no need, it's on casters so I can spin and roll it around already
