Most big firms like Chase, Bank of America or Morgan Stanley will give you time during business hours from 9-5 to let you study for the exam. But they do expect you to pass within the first time.

He forgot to mention, that IF YOU didn't go to business school, you won't have a clue about anything you see on the Series 7 exam... its an entirely different subject matter that will simply stump you due to unfamiliarity with the language, the vernacular of business & finance. Read the Wall Street Journal newspaper for 3 -6 months daily, to become familiar with the terminology and subject matter and learn if its an area that even interests you... (at my Biz school in Boston, freshmen were required to subscribe to the Wall Street Journal to immerse themselves in the dialect of business and investments, to get a running start.)

Do you take notes while reading every chapter? I’m a fast reader but my bullet point notes makes me feel like the chapters are never ending! I feel like writing notes while reading helps me to stay focused, but it’s very time consuming! FYI: I passed the S7 in 2012, but left the industry in 2016, so now I have to retake it next month. :/
What online classes would you recommend for that? Although now you have to take the SIE + Series 7 for it. I'm looking at Solomon Prep that looks pretty good from an online perspective, and how they break down the chapters. Is it possible to pass the SIE + Series 7 within the six month time window they give you though with all the content it covers?

@@miqotelover It’s tricky. Pass Perfect is the only program I’ve ever used since 2012, so it’s hard to compare. I can say it seems to slightly overdo it with the amount of material vs. what’s on the actual test BUT I’ve passed all of the exams I’ve ever done using Pass Perfect. So I’ll say don’t rush the process, push the exam date out if you need more time to read/study. And then you’ll be good!

You mentioned in another video client services jobs which sound like a nice position, but will I need the 7 to get hired for that? Hey Steven, thanks for checking out the videos! You typically do not need to have the series 7 (or even the SIE for that matter) to land a good client service role in wealth management. So based on where it sounds like you are at, you should be able to find a great position.
If you dont have a background in finance, does having the series 7, 66 and 63 give you entry level opportunities in finance as a rep. Starting to become interested in this stuff after reading intelligent investor by Benjamin Graham

Hey Cory, Yes I work for a great firm. I can't say for sure which companies are best for this just because a lot of it will depend on your specific managers. But in general I think RIAs and independents are better than wirehouses.
Fidelity will literally pay you for 26 weeks to train and study for this. They have classes at work that you attend for it. You do that instead of your actual job

I know I'm not AJ, but it depends on a few things. Are you going to try to get a CFP? If so, you HAVE to obtain a Bachelor's degree within 5 years of taking the CFP exam.

On November 13th I passed the series 7, on my first try. Definitely really stressful. Unfortunately they didnt show me my grade. They must have changed it so they only show you if you passed.

If you dont have a degree and want to stick out to a firm, you may take the SIE, 63, AND 65 without a sponsor. Having those will look good on a resume to an employer that is looking to hire someone to sponsor. Quite honestly even better than an individual with a Degree but has none of these exams passed.

Nah I wouldn't start quite yet. I mean it won't hurt you to start now, but it won't take long if you just wait for your employer to pay for the material and enrollment later on.

You can negotiate in the hiring process/offer letter when you speak to the employer. If you don’t have a background in finance I would recommend taking the SIE I did pass perfect which was $99 for the online course and the exam voucher was $60. You will earn that money back right away & the SIE is good for 4 years. Also, don’t give up I applied 10 times and then finally I had competing offers from two firms! I ended up accepting the one I really wanted. You got this😄
I am an Options Trader and generate decent returns. Do I need to get any credentials or license to trade Options for my friends and family? Can I start advertising and marketing my Options trading services to the general public? I hear I don't need any license for trading for up to 15 people. Is this true? Where can I find more information on this subject?
My understanding is that you do not need sponsorship for the Series 66, but you cannot file for your 66 license with the state until you have successfully completed the Series 7 exam and have filed for that license.

Wells Fargo allows you to take the test twice. If failed. They will cover fees.

Schwab pays you to study for 5 weeks so no time spent outside of work. Best employer I've ever had.

Yes it is. And most investment related jobs require the series 66, but some dont.
