Zante Ep 7 - CAR HIRE in Zante - Kypseli, Amoudi, Alykes, Xigia Beach & Cape Skinari

- In the 7th episode, we hire a car and take you up the eastern side of Zante.
First we take you to Hermes Rentals in Kalamaki and show you how much it is to hire a small car/quad bike for a few days.
Once we have our vehicle, we embrace our freedom by firstly stopping at a special place to us, Vardiola Restaurant. This being the place we tied the knot back in 2015.
After a look around here, we move on to Amoudi, a sleepy little greek village resort, walking down towards a small beach.
From here we move on to Alykes for a spot of lunch, but first we show you the main street of Alykes with the bars and restaurants within the resort. We stop off at Alykes Beach and try some food at Palm Tree Beach Bar.
Once our stomach's are full, we take some time out to relax at Xigia beach. The sea here is a natural spa, containing healing elements from the sulphur off the surrounding rocks.
We then drive to the most northern tip of the island, Cape Skinari. Here we visit the lighthouse overlooking Kefalonia. We also take a walk around to the Windmill Taverna, where 2 flour grinding mills have been turned into places to stay. We also walk down the steps towards the sea and get sight of the Blue Caves.

I broke my toe at the 'healing beach' wasn't as calm when we were there!!

@@continentalcoxons it was really wavy and the stones in the water all shifted..I went one way, my toe went the other - stuck under some stones. The other half was laughing till the purple toe made a full appearance later on that night. Been loving these videos.. been to Tsilivi many times, considering Kalamaki for next year so thanks

@@continentalcoxons I'm staying at Anemomilos Studios, Ano Vasilikos, Greece. I haven't been abroad in 4 years and I've made a few whoops in booking this - as many people said it could have been a lot cheaper! 🙈 - because I have no idea about Greece and by the looks from the map, I didn't want to stay too far from the airport and the main area; in terms of seeing things I know I can find my way to travel/explore around the island anyway. I hope I've made the right decision 😅

Nice vid mate, we got back from alykanas last month, can’t beat the island, also that nasty smell wasn’t the sulphur it was your wife after eating that double burger. Just kidding. All the best

I've 5 days on this stunning island and we keep toying with idea of a car. Honestly how are the roads and other drivers like? Did you feel safe enough
It was absolutely fine Siobhan, we didn't encounter any issues at all. Some of the roads and be a little bit bendy up in the hills. Take your time and you'll be absolutely fine.
I’m going to Tsilivi in two weeks, and I’ve not been away since covid. Just wondering if it’s best to bring cash like I would normally do or bring a card with me? I’m sure every business is different but just wanted to ask for an opinion x
Hello. We used both cash and card when we went so ots your choice really, most places take both. We use a revolut card which is great and easily manageable through the phone app. Can add lonely on any time and exchange. If you lose the card you can block it as well. We'll worth looking at.

Hi Susan, it's been a few years since we made this video now, so prices may ha e changed, but it was about 20 euro for fully comp insurance. I think it might actually be mentioned on the information ation in the video if I remember rightly.

did you have to put down a deposit on the car??
From what I remember, I don't believe we did as we took out the fully comp insurance option, which I think was about an additional €20
