  • To the Northwest of the Americas there is a land that wakes up every spring. A land in which the vegetation of the tundra begins, each year, a race to complete their life cycle in the short time that gives the warm season. It's the time when the grizzly bear, the largest in the world, wake up after enduring five months of fasting inside their den. We will follow in the footsteps of these giants plantigrades in their search for food to replenish the effort to nurse a baby during hibernation.
    The main goal of the bear will be salmon, returning to the river that saw them born for sunset. Salmon are the ideal fat intake that bears need to recover. But not only this species depends on its arrival. The other inhabitants of Alaska are linked to the biological chain that begins with his arrival: the sea lions remain hungry until they appear, and if they arrive late otters can become orcas grass. In the hands of these fish (that are the real mana of Alaska's lands) will discover its complex ecological balance while accompany their pilgrimage up the river. They will have to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles, such as high jumps river upstream, or circumvent the lookout for their many predators.
    We will see these fish odyssey driven by the imperative of reproduction and will discover the many species living life on the edge of the glaciers.

    "I am going to die" spoken by a fish, isn't what I expect to hear when I sit down to watch a documentary about BEARS.

    Interesting, but dreadfully mis-titled. This documentary is less about the bears and more about the salmon.

    Why are people not as afraid of bears as they are wolves? The wolves have never killed a human. Bears on the other hand. Well yeah. Nobody is running around hollering kill all the bears. So why the wolves? People are scared because one day they will have to admit they was wrong about wolves. I just pray it's not to late for them and us.

    Genetically, there's no difference between brown bears and Grizzlies; they're the same genetically. Scientists call inland bears Grizzlies, and coastal bears just 'brown', I'm assuming due to environmental differences that may influence their diet or behaviors, but there's no difference in the actual bear itself.

    • @sw-fd4ty
      @sw-fd4ty 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Katrina LeFay yes I'm thinking your right and that the only difference between the coastal brown bear and Grizzlies is that coastal brown bears gets bigger because they have more to eat.

    20:48 "They have to face the largest land Carnivore of the World :The Grizzly" This is just not true First of all the Largest land Carnivore is the Polar Bear Second of all Grizzly Bears although they're classified as "Carnivora" they aren't true Carnivores! They are Omnivores even in Alaska where they're depend on Salmon even there up to 60-75% of their food is Vegetation,(Grass,Flowers,nuts,leafs,berries,mushrooms,roots,and Fruits) The only true living Carnivore of the "Ursidae" family are Polar Bears.100% of their food are Meat!

    Be Honest I Also Like This Bear (Kodiak Bear) And The Polar Bear After The Siberian Tiger.
    But Even The Fully Grown Siberian Tiger, Ussuri Brown Bear And Kamchatka Brown Bear Is Still Nothing Against The Average Size Of The Kodiak Bear And Polar Bear.
    Because It's More Powerful, Stronger And Smarter Than Those 4 Animals.
    But The Polar Bear Can Defeat The Kodiak Bear.

    UREKA! Name a documentary that is about salmon by using BEARS in the title and NOT salmon!
    No one wants to watch a doc about salmon. So, we'll name it about BEARS!!!
    I'm jaded on bear docs for quite some time. I'll just watch docs about wolves for the rest of the year. If a wolf doc turns out to be about coyotes or foxes, I'm going to kick a youtube exec in the nuts!
