He is wise, not discussing anyone and not being personal just facts. It's not about coming to the podcast and throwing shade and punchlines. Future guests should take notes on maturity and composure. Denny J said Tyla is doing well in a genre that is not South African. That is not true. By definition, Water is "An amapiano song with elements of pop, R&B and Afrobeats." That is her style. Most people don't know she had a big song four years ago named "getting late," and that song together with her new offering "ART" are rooted in Amapiano. In other words, if you take out or modify the log drum in any of her offerings, there is very little left. It is a complement to Amapiano that someone would say it sounds western, afrobeats or pop. 👌🏾
@MaryMucheka Wow. So much confidence from someone who doesn't know what they are talking about. How about you listen to understand yourself? Tyla is an Amapiano artist who is thriving in a genre that originated in Gauteng Province South Africa. She IS from Gauteng. Therefore she is not an exception. She is successful because she is original. She is a typical example of "original acts blow up internationally" which is Mono's view to begin with. In your own words, she IS the 98%.
