I found these Dremel Tool Cut Off Wheel’s and Mandrel to be extremely well engineered. They sure beat the old Dremel wheels I’ve used before.
I tried to respect the wheel by not getting it too hot at one time… in other words,I took my time. I couldnt have veen happier with the results. This is definitely found a place in my toolbox! a great alternative to happen to get out the 4 inch angle grinder when doing a small job!

Absolutely agree! I bought the “flexible shaft” for the Dremel years ago! Obviously it has to be mounted higher in the air! But the precision it offers by having a smaller tip is awesome! Thank You!

You did a lot better than me with those wheels. I was trying to cut a hole in sheet metal and the first cut off wheel wore out really quickly and the second one had the center break out right after I put it on. Right out of the package.

I can only speak of my personal testing and prior Dremel wheel experience. I was extremely pleased… having said that, it wasn’t just the cutting experience, but that mandrel with its clenching type design was impressive! I’m a skeptical person.. when it comes to claims manufactureres make … Dremel proved itself worthy!

But let me add this. I got a little bit older and he go across the wholesale club Walmart parking lot whatever it might be. Just to help them put their groceries in their car. Then he said one time Dad we need to follow him home. I'll spare you to conversation but the man did not expect us to do this. I asked my son why? How is he going to get them into his home? Great thoughtfulness. He was that way all his life.

Way too expensive though, for how little time they last.

@davidgraham2673 Thanks David! I’m just a hobbyist. They won’t see a ton of use. I’m curious, do you just use a 4” wheel most of the time? Or do you use the cheaper ( price wise) Dremel size cut offs…I also have no issue using a hacksaw!

@Kevscancave , I did custom work on metal door frames, and metal doors if needed during my construction days.
The small size allowed me to do tight work.
They're proud of those cut-off wheels. They're very expensive compared to a thin metal cutting disc, and how much longer they last.

Realistically, the Dremel doesn't have the beans to spin a large wheel like that. Check out the Foredom line; they make a Dremel seem more like a toy because they don't torque out.

Foredoms are incredible I agree! They were always the top choice with the power carving crowd in the 80’s -90’s when I was actively carving! A friend had one and it was a work horse! Thanks for your comments! 👍
