sat navs are basically an interactive map, you should still review your route before going on a long distance journey in areas you have never been before and if you don't like the look of a road, don't drive down it. As for the two buses in this video, that's just unlucky
nice video, plenty of adventure. sat nav systems use digital maps. these maps are made and surveyed by map making companies like TeleAtlas or Navteq. Offcourse maps become outdated as time goes by. And in your particular case you were driving onder lots of trees, this can throw of possitioning because the system can not receive enough GPS signals. (same in tunnels.) But it is true, sat nav users seem to depend on their systems to much. map reading skills remain usefull!

Avoid walking paths? YES.

Never used a Sat Nav, never will,good old map has done me for the past 15 years and a mouth to ask directions!!!!
