- Teslas may be the “it” car for the tech forward and environmentally friendly, but they’re also the target of an outsized number of vandalism attacks. Thanks to the built-in security camera on the cars’ fenders, footage of people keying and scraping the vehicles is readily available. One guy even slammed a shopping cart into the electric vehicle. These acts of vandalism cost car owners thousands of dollars, but the cameras may help identify the perpetrators. #InsideEdition

It's not just Teslas. Teslas have cameras so that's why we see this so often. My car was keyed and the police pulled the guy over, threw him on the ground and handcuffed him, then "pressured" him into confessing. He was a doctor. He was angry because he didn't have a lot of room to open his car door, his own fault, but he took it out on me. He paid in full.
On one way it's stupid to vandalize a car. But it's 10 times more stupid to vandalize the ONE car that can record you
Maybe Sentry Mode can also be remotely activated? Or once the owner witnesses his Tesla being keyed, the owner does it with his you-know-what.

Cameras or no cameras, in the UK nothing will be done. Even if the police find out who did it, the courts will slap a £10 fine on but no laws or ability to enforce the payment. Sickening!

And the old lady who destroyed the paint job on the one car probably works her age and gender at every possible advantage when life isn’t kind to her, all the while increasing our insurance premiums and victimizing people that didn’t do anything to her. This really stood out to me as an example of egregious behavior from someone who is supposed to be older and wiser to know better. Hope many people see this, including her family. If she’s got an issue with the car or owner, wait around for them and speak her issue face to face. Shame on her.

It's an exclusive car which probably means it has to be shipped back to the factory by an exclusive towing vehicle which needs exclusive maintenance. Because it's exclusive they charge an exclusive fee on top of the exclusive fee for the exclusive door or whatever was scratched. Then exclusive fees to tow it back and the exclusive fees to cover the exclusive fees. Lol I've got no f'ing clue but I was wondering the same thing.

Federal and state rebates brought the price of my car down to the low 40s. This was back in 2018. They're already a lot cheaper now.
I could keep writing more about all the positives. Only negative thing I can think of is build quality matching its price point.

What I see is people aren't grateful enough with what they have. I used to feel envy and regret about my life and it doesn't get me anywhere in life. Now I'm trying to be more religious to fill up my spiritual need, try to donate my spare change every week, do good deeds to other etc. Now i feel less depressed about my living situation and be grateful that i can eat 3-4 times a day even if i'm still living with my parents

I owned one. "Sentry mode" is THE problem. It flashes lights and honks at people who approach, which might seem like a good thing, but from the pedestrian standpoint, it TAUNTS them, when they're just minding their own business. It makes them think the owner is nearby pushing buttons on a fob out of distrust.

my dad has a tesla. we aren’t rich at all. we live in a small rented house. the only reason why my dad has a tesla is because the company he works for gave it to him. if anybody did that to his car he would be so devastated. tesla owners aren’t snobby at all. whenever me and my dad drive places, other tesla owners wave at us and it’s kinda like a community thing.

I agree, I parked my dad's car outside a school for a soccer match and when I arrived there was a huge streak on the door, people who do this represent the lowest of society
