Thanks for posting, you drove by my home from 1987 until my parents finally sold in 2022 @ 10:38 - 10:39. I have many fond memories of Marion in the 80's & 90's although I'm content in Indianapolis now. I really appreciate this video to bring back memories that I'm afraid I will someday forget!

I remember the Wabash River being near Marion. We used to go exploring abandoned buildings and grabbing Rhubarb plants and a whole trunk full of bricks we chipped up and used for landscaping....car was scraping the ground on the way home. My parents were thrifty recyclers back then

I grew up in Marion, wouldn't give up my youth there in late 70s to early 90s. Lived on 37th street, one of the last brick roads in the town. Moved from there in 93, Hoping one day I can retire back there

I moved away from there a few months ago and it was fun seeing some of the familiar sights - and you went right near my old house towards the end! The “creek” at the end is actually the Mississinewa river and it’s actually the second time you crossed it...the first was around 1:22. Thanks for posting!

My father-in-law from my first marriage was from Marion Indiana, but lived in Hope, Arkansas. He was from a pretty poor background and his mother and father lived in a rented house on 1719 S. Branson St. before they died. A pretty pathetic background, his father was a truck driver, but rarely provided for his family and mother worked in a tomato cannery. The house they lived in was built in the 1890’s to early 1900’s, but there was no vintage charm to it. It didn’t have a driveway, fenced yard, or garage because of the time it was built. All the years it was upgraded, it was just plumbing, flooring, and fixtures to keep it livable, but it got demolished in the 1990’s. Marion has tons of 100+ year old homes today that were working-class dwellings then, but no real upkeep or pride to them.

Hey buddy that is a great video of Marion Indiana! There is a couple of thing you got wrong in the video lol lol The first bridge you cross isn't a creek its a river flooded and its the Mississinewa River That is the one of two river in the world that runs ( North )and the nile river in India. The building to the right ( the castle ) was a Jail That been change in to apartments. The next creek you come to that is still the Mississinewa River.... P.S. The next river that runs north is the nile river in india

I found this to be a very interesting video. I bet a lot of good blues music comes out of that part of Indiana. It looks old, poor, run-down, cold, bleek, grey, depressing and life moves at a very slow pace. It looks like the kinda place that time forgot. If not for the later model vehicles, it looks it could have been filmed in 1950. In a strange kind of way, it looks quite beautiful there.

My first wife’s father was from there and his parents lived in a shack on 1719 South Branson, now demolished. I couldn’t believe how backward the town was; it’s like living in Mississippi, but you’re in the Midwest. That house had no garage or driveway like all the other homes on the street because automobiles weren’t even invented when it was built.
