Very helpful, hands-on tutorial that provides easy explanations of the car's features. The dealer never explained any of this when I purchased the car but that may be because this dealership sells all makes and models and no one person can possibly know all the features of every vehicle. Unless you have a couple of hours to read the user manual, this tutorial makes it almost obsolete. Thank you for posting.

But, after enjoying it like that for a couple of weeks, I must have hit another setting switch and now I don’t know how to get it back. Can you tell me how to get my speed displayed in big numbers again?

You can make this adjustment in your settings on the screen. It allows you to choose which doors you want to automatically lock/unlock upon entering/exiting the vehixl.
I have two baby car seats on the second row. whenever I open the driver’s seat, the whole interior dome lights light up, waking up the kids in frown. the ascent only lets you keep the map lights off, and lacks the function to keep the dome lights off when any door opens.. any tricks or hidden function or after market circuits to help?
Can you make a video on the settings of the touch screen on the 2020 Ascent? Also, my hatch opens when the doors are locked by pushing the button on the door itself without me having the key fab on me? But if I lock the car with the fab it locks correctly. Is this normal?

Hi Jodie, the alternative is to purchase the remote start keyfob and have it programmed. The last time I had this done it was around $750 for parts plus labor (they take about the dash and center console so it's a big job). The keyfob will also only start and stop the car, it won't allow you to control your climate, lock/unlock the car, and/or track the car if needed like the mysubaru app does through starlink. The lowest price plan for a used Subaru is to get the 3 yr subscription which is $300. Once you're signed up on the mysubaru app, you're ready to go. No parts are required to be installed. It's important to note that in order to use the mysubaru app for remote start, you have to have the push button start with keyless access. Hope this helps!
The info button changes what displays on the multifunction display just above it in the center of the dash. It shows time/date, interior temp controls, exterior temp, mpg, etc
The Ascent is actually one of the few Subaru models that don’t have the auto start stop feature. The manual transmission Crosstrek, wrx and brz also don’t have it
The BSD on/off switch is on the left hand side of the dash just in front of your left knee. When you turn it on, the side mirrors will light up temporarily to show you that it's on. When turned off, it will illuminate on the dash in orange telling you that it's off.
I was AMAZED that with all the electronic gadgets, the Subaru Ascent (2021) does NOT alert you to when you need an oil change. My 2008 Ford Explorer had that option for goodness sakes. BUT, if you buy a new one the dealer will send you an email when your oil change is due, so I guess that's good enough. (I don't know if that service is offered on a used car). It's not easy to remember where 6,000 miles have elapsed from the last change after you have a lot of miles on your vehicle.

No. Sensors are only in the rear bumper. The front uses cameras.
