Brilliant use of a highwayman's knot!

My Dad was an avid sailor in southern New England . I did help him deliver a sailboat to Camden, Maine about 20 years ago (by water, from Connecticut) He taught me the 'bowline' when I was young. its second nature now, fast easy and very secure, plus you can always untie it ! I wish I had learned more from him. thanks for your videos ! I can't afford the type of boat my old man had, but I have 2 old town canoes and have come to love the simplicity of them. Ive lived on the salt water my whole life, but now I have really come to love the woods and fresh running water which is so beautiful and abundant in Maine. I really want to try a canoe / camping trip maybe this year and I loved your 'poling' videos. I actually paddle the shallows of 'little Narragansett bay' standing up ! thx again !

Andrew, thanks for watching. One of the best Maine Guides I know started out as a sailor and never set foot in a canoe u til he was 26. Fell in love with canoes and never looked back. Cheers. Lisa

Charles, thanks for watching. I plan to do videos through the long winter and will certainly do that. I started out as a baker before I was a Guide. I appreciate your input. All the best. Lisa

Hi Lisa! I love these spots! I find them soothing. Are you still stage managing as well?

Oh my Gosh, Jefferson…my worlds are colliding. Yes still Stage Managing. I lost 2 really good Maine Guides from cancer within 2 years of each other and just wanted to archive my generation of Maine Guides. So humbled at the response. And as you well know, once you’re a parent, you don’t want to take it with you. XxLisa
