@Wienerpoops oof. Many people say that they liked 8th grade, so don't be worried about my words, but 8th grade was a living hell for me (mainly because of bullies, harder work [that's the year I got AAC classes for the first time], friends moving, and just the school being crowded.
I mean, i prefer based on color, not friction. But if I had to choose, uhh welp maybe dark grey with friction. I mean, just think of the possibilities!! 😱
I actually knew this. And I think it has something to do with the slits in the pins. A sand pin (16mm) has less friction and less slits. A black pin (16mm) has more friction and more slits. So the more slits a piece has, the harder they are to move, which is likely why pin are colour coded.
I remember discovering this. I was at first confused that some pins were tighter than others but then I realized it was made that way The red one is my favorite
I learned something similar when I did LEGO Robotics in school. As I recall, it was black pins for friction, gray for free spinning. But that was full pins, so maybe it's slightly different for half-pins.
for the longer pins, the gray one is similar to the short white pin, it will reduce friction, and it amazing for LEGO Action figures, (like some of mine) if you have enough pieces and skill, a trapdoor, (if you don't have the trapdoor pieces) for a head of a character, etc. but the black one, is similar to the dark gray short pin. it can be used for if you don't want free movement on something, but you still want it to be able to move. hope this helped!
It actually has nothing to do with color and everything to do with whether or not they have friction knubs or not. For instance you can get gray Technic pins that have do not have them . Lego try to not mix-and-match tattoos that are easily identifiable but you can get yellow tan grey black pins all without friction
As a Bionicle owner this has to be BS. Bionicles came with dozens of these each in every color for joints. They didn't give the blue guy stiff joints or whatever he's trying to say lol
When I was a kid, I tried to make a ceiling fan out of lego It never worked, it was always stiff as fk I see why now I probably used a dark gray pin because I wanted it all to be in the same color
I don’t think it’s about preference, but rather which one you need for a specific purpose at the moment, cuz they really seem like they’re simply for different things.
Tip: Though the blue one can swivel, it spins less freely than the white or grey ones
That is exactly what I was gonna say as it’s about in between
Yeah, the blue and black ones don’t move near as much
There is also a tan one that swivels easily
Yeah I was about to say this as well
_COOL_
Very interesting! I didn't even know they made red ones!
They are in like every Lego Star Wars set lol
Spongebob
Tapos bob lego please please please😊
Red ones are relatively new compared to the others, first appearance in 2022
Number 3
That “stud of a brick” really caught me off guard

It's actually good non curse word
or what about "*****"?
The blue ones have tight friction for me and there are tan ones that have next to 0 friction and are really good.
I used tan ones to make a Boeing 777. Or should I say bong 7,77
My guess is tans are older whites
@@Hyperaxe_realthey also used Lego to make the real Boeing 727
The tan ones are very loose. The blue is way tighter than them.
yes
@Wienerpoops fr. Back in my engineering class, we used Legos for some models, and we only had access to tan, blue, and black.
@Wienerpoops I did, but math was too complicated for me, so I'm choosing to take a business major in college.
@Wienerpoops lol. Opposite for me since 8th grade. I wish I could do math wellm

The blue Ones can also be stiff
Wow 56 likes this is awesome
@@zachandrobvermaasanddeatha457delete that shit now lil bro
@@zachandrobvermaasanddeatha457 nah keep it up
For me, blue has always been one of the tighter ones
That "stud of a brick" really fair

I think that one is my favorite too!!

mine does the opposite, did i break it?
I remember discovering this. I was at first confused that some pins were tighter than others but then I realized it was made that way
The red one is my favorite
Dark grey and red ones are cool
I ussually use the tight friction ones but the open friction ones are great for wheels.
Thank you! Not too lone ago I had some problems involving them because I didn't have and snot bricks and this solved it!
Oh, that's very cool! Can you please do a complex rabbit?
I was OBSESSED with technic/lego hero factory as a kid, I found these differences when i was like 5 it’s so wild to hear it here
I actually did know that, and because of the dye some of them last longer than others too. The dye causes brittleness as they age.
Probably for the best they come in different colors, just a shame that sometimes conpromises a sets look.
I put blue pins on most of my weapons to represent tape, I’ve only seen light grey and blue ones in person
Lego is very clever on making these technic pins
Stud of a brick is an amazing phrase
If only I knew before I made my Legos idea set. Will save me about 30 bricks now
I learned something similar when I did LEGO Robotics in school. As I recall, it was black pins for friction, gray for free spinning. But that was full pins, so maybe it's slightly different for half-pins.
“Stud if a brick” is the best way to bypass a curse word
Thank you for this video

Thank you for confirming the suspicion I had didn't truly know but it had an inkling feeling
“Stud of a brick” is my favorite quote of the day 🤣💀

“Son of a brick” is my new go-to expletive
I thought your Lego Master builds you two did where amazing 🤩
I prefer whichever one I need for a build, if it’s a build or something that has the spin for a blue one if not black
I’m sorry but is English your first language?
@@DeezNuts-ej6sr oh yeah I just used Siri

It isn’t a preference thing, its a situation thing, like black and grey technic connectors or whatever they’re actually called
When I was a kid,
I tried to make a ceiling fan out of lego
It never worked, it was always stiff as fk
I see why now
I probably used a dark gray pin because I wanted it all to be in the same color
"Stud of the bricks" got me rolling in the floor!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I actually knew this and it is very interesting I prefer the movable ones . Nice video 👍
I don’t think it’s about preference, but rather which one you need for a specific purpose at the moment, cuz they really seem like they’re simply for different things.
I like the ones that stay stiff and don’t move bc they look good on Star Wars blasters
"Stud of a brick" I'm definitely stealing that
I figured these things out a few years ago the hard way…
Using grey is not great when making something structurally sound
Id Love The Custom Blue -> Black Color
It depends on what I’m making. I like the frictionless ones because i like making butterfly knives out of technic pieces
Yellow ones also have no friction
I didn’t know that before i watched this! Thank you for the info!
Keep up the great work
black ones in all of my Lego technic models is what I prefer
Note that this exact color code only works with stud pins. For example, the blue standard//cross pin has friction
black technic pins???
I love the grey cause it’s got the least friction
My favorite is the tan one because I want a Lego fidget spinner
It's not just about the color, it's more about the ridges, they do color code them now but some.years ago colors didn't mean that much
I was kinda aware of this, but never got any confirmation for it so its cool to learn ^_^
Blue ones have never been loose for me
Thanks master builder! I needed this beacuse the other day I build something to move but it din't move
Seams more like more of a quality and production standard issue so some lots are tighter than others and not a rule across the board.
THOSE WHICH ARE IN THE SAME COLOUR AS THE KIT!
And you can see the difference by the incisions on tthe side.
Oh. Makes since to why a certain color of a pin won’t make a propeller spin easily
I used to bite the blue ones to make them oblong so they wouldn't spin it did work but if I knew this back in the day I wouldn't have done it
Grey ones also allow a a stick brick to go in to them
“Stud of a brick” caught me!
Back when I was a kid the blue and black were tight, and grey was loose.. 😅😅😅
I didn't know they made so many new colors
Rvindell references go hard
i prefer the ones that doesnt spin, cuz i really need ones that doesnt spin but they have useful shape, but they spin.
i use white to make a balisong. it turns so well
"Stud of a brick!"
Your Lego License™ has been revoked.
I like the Offwhite color because they spin everything
I had to find this out the hard way
Black ones are like the dark gray and red ones as well
I needed this information thank you
Except for the axle to pink converter with the blue one is actually fiction and instead the beige one is low friction
The dark grey and red ones❤
The yellow one is my favorite
“STUD OF THE BRICK”
My mom: what did he sayyy-
I only knew about the difference from doing some ev3 building
I had actually figured this one out a while back when I was building with technic peices and realized that the blue pin moves and the red pin doesn’t
I always thought that blue was high friction, black was medium and white, gray, beige were low
Wow thanks for the tip!!
stud of a brick is the best thing have heard all day 🤣🤣🤣
I never realized this, as a kid I just thought some of those pieces were bad
I found this out the hard way lol
I knew it!!
Ever since I was little, it seemed like this was the case
"Stud of a brick" 😂
I started to suspect this when I experimented with legos
for blue gray and white are good if you wanna make a butter fly knife but the others are good to reinforce builds
For me it depends on the situation so there both good
Yeah, I’ve always wondered why some of them stayed stiff and then some of them moved pause but anyways I prefer red and gray
Holy crap I honestly had no idea they were different
The tan ones have even less friction
Theres also the yellowish pins wich also spin freely
I figured this out eventually. I miss being able to build new sets but I dont have the room to store anything anymore.
Thanks for sharing, l wondered 🤔, if that may, have been the reason.
Gray ones really like to fly of like fired bullet
i love spinning Legos
How did I not know this 6 years I’ve been playing with Lego
Family-friendly finally nevermind "Day 16"
I’m definitely using “Stud of a brick” when I’m trying not to swear infront of my parents 😭💀🙏
the light grey
No grey is for movement, black is for stiffness.
The blue one has more friction than the light grey and white ones
Tf you mean "which one fo you prefer?" right after you explained they're meant for different tasks
Ok bro chill no need to get pressed
