this was honestly so helpful! since the quarantine, I've been trying to brush up my design skills and I'm blown away by how simple and easy I can achieve a vibe like this!!
I love the art in this video, but this song is getting to me on a deep level. It’s so simple yet it hits this sensitive spot in my heart. It’s got that melancholy to it like reminiscing about a happy past. I don’t mean to spill my heart out in this comment, but this song makes me think of my bf of 10 years and all the good times we’ve had together and how much I love him. It’s hard to explain, but this song is like a moment of clarity telling me he’s the one. Who knew I would experience this from an Adobe Illustrator video. Thank you for posting this 🤍🤍🤍
Excellent work! You achieve an extraordinary synthesis with the line. With few strokes, almost by contrast, you reproduce the image. Congratulations, colleague!
Very impressive work, reminiscent of Nagel. I’ve been using this software since Illustrator 88, so my questions aren’t about the tools. What I find most educational are the artistic decisions- where you choose to place your shapes, where to put sharp corners, the odd shapes which define the aesthetic. I could benefit from watching this a few more times!
It's following the face's anatomy, and being illuminated by a directional light from above, I think this was the reason for the sharp edges below the cheek bone and behind the neck.
I would like to know your thought process on the decisions you made when tracing the hair. It started getting pretty complex and I got lost. When you started using the shape builder tool my mind was blown. Sick vid tho, appreciate you sharing!
When i was in my 20's at the industrial design academy, i remember we had classes for this exact method. It was handy to have when i designed posters for bands and gigs back then. Then i applied to art academy, and didn't get in because i actually didn't have understanding of creating a three dimensional appearence with charcoal and piece of cloth. In retrospective, it is funny how one can get so blind to their own actual skill level, when great looking results can be acchieved in so simple and effortless manner. The flexibility is something i needed to learn as an artist. It required me to recognize the gaps in my organic skills.
@@sampokemppainen3041 well I do both, and I can tell you learning the digital side of things has been more frustrating than learning how to draw or paint.
@@jz4697 i think i had it other way around. I was i school for design, so i got really good teaching to use illustrator, photoshop and 3d modeling software. Unfortunately i hsven't have luck with classical arts yet. But i am sure, that as soon as i get in academy, it will serve as a huge boost in my skill. Is it possible to see some of your clssical art drawings and studies?
So I've had to do this for a client before and i gotta say, its not easy. you make it look easy tho which means it was a job well done. Question, I know you are what seems to be the pen tool to trace out the image, are you using a mouse or something like a pen and tablet? I especially like how you chose to detail the hair. this was my greatest challenge.
THAENOR This video is showing one of the most practical way to do it with a mouse and using the pen tool. If you have a drawing tablet, it's easier and faster to create a custom brush that tapers into a sharp point. Keep building up the look and then merge it into a single shape. This video explains it pretty well. th-cam.com/video/LvOX9nQgXus/w-d-xo.html
Such a Cool image! Too much time to create these days though w Illustrator w the apps that are available now. But this prob the Be$t way to do 👏🏻 nice music too
I think it would be good if u did this along with one of the other commenters suggestion that was to do a step by step tutorial. You can def go in depth explanation too for a separate video. I really like your way of detailing, btw!
I've noticed that you have a way of simplifying and refining details that aren't exactly in the photo, and that gives your style a smooth consistency and simplicity. Could you do a video where you go more in-depth on the rules that you go by for tracing each part, and the types of shapes you want for portraits?
Your color choice is just amazing, can you please tell me how do you choose & make this color!what a combination you make!!!♥,give me any suggestion about color, please!!
Dunno if my question is nosense but why your strokes get auto improved, dunno how to explain it aswell, it is like you make your selection but at the end your strokes get better and more simillar to the picture, how it works?
watching this makes me frustrate more knowing i’ve been trying to make kind of stuffs since decadea & i haven’t done any yet 😂😂😂😂 i’m really talentless when it comes to like this
Put the coloured text in the lower layer than the layer in which you have made your art. Since the text layer is lower than the prior its colour wont over lap the above and you will have this effect
It will be amazing if you do a toturial step by step and not just speed art, thanks, really good job by the way.
What tool did she use? Pen tool?
@@feelfuulfiil Yes, pen tool
you can check out the step by step tutorial here #AndyMediaCreatives
This almost looks like a tutorial to me xd , you should try to get familiarize with the pen tool and your good to go ;)

You made this with mouse or a tablet? Btw amazing work
That's awesome, what's that you did with the type that on the part overlaying the vector showed only stroke?
There is 2 layer of text 1 with stroke only and 2nd is fill. U can put stroke text over character layer and fill text under character layer
Are you using a mouse or a pen?
Your are using mouse or Graphics tablet?
I like it))) how much takes real time?
