The Saturn Mansion of Hidden Souls game actually isn't a port of the Sega CD game; even though they have the same name, it's a sequel of sorts, and the two are different games. Similar in concept, but not identical. Also, the same developers went on to make Lunacy, a Saturn-exclusive title, and that game is quite similar to the two previous ones. Good game.
(Responding to a nine year old comment, haha) Indeed they are separate games, and Lunacy is, in my opinion, the best of the three and still pretty fun if you're into this type of game. One thing all three games share is a fascination with butterflies. They don't make 'em like this anymore! Boggles the mind that Sega released these games but skipped on things like Grandia.
I think it's not that hard to make an FMV shooter game like this, you need a video of the environment and a separate video with the bad guys' reel. When you shoot one you can mask out that bad guy and add an effect in it's place to know you shot something, they don't have too many all at once on the screen. You could make a video of walking through the GI office, stopping occasionally and move on, take some bad guy pop in shots and place them according the on-rail office video. It could be called "Game Enforcer" or something. I think it's pretty doable with today's technology.
Speaking of Cyberia, I revently found a pc copy in a box full of stuff from my old family computer, I think it was one my uncle gave me cause he gave me and my sis tons of random games.
Hey just gave us 20-30 at a time like 3 or 4 different times, and not all of them were "legal"... But this has an actual disc with the Cyberia disc art so I am pretty sure it is at least.

Play Drowned God if you dare... Or Blue Ice. These kind of games had their golden age in the 90's but even though I like adventure games, I just can't stand these mindless games. No connection between the actions, the story and acting are just bad.
Dan you write / talk about video games for a living, you should understand that everything (like flowers) doesn't have to be a useful productive item. I know this is 5 years old haha but he still seems similar when i've heard him more recently haha
Man, I still remember that bullet hole on the screen thing from Maximum Force.
flowers get stinky - Dan Ryckert
Sure is great when they talk over the dialogue in the game and then wonder what's going on.
"I'm just sitting here like a guy! That's how fellas sit!" - Daniel Ryckert
This has about as much gameplay as Gone Home or Dear Esther. This was the 90s equivalent of the present day, indie 'walking simulator'.
Reminds me of the Seventh Guest

you guys should do a replay or super replay of a scary game(:
I was gonna say a cross between Jeff Cork and Tim Turi. Lovechild, maybe?
Could this game be played with the PS1 mouse like shooting scenes from Cyberia?

Why do the books open backwards??
Yeah, and the Sega Master System as well.
You can plug Genesis controllers into the Atari 2600-7800, if that's what Tim is thinking of.
I hope you went to get a Waluigi Mackin!
But if you want to play good first person adventure, you should play Echo Night (PS1) and Echo Night - Beyond (PS2). Those are some really good games!
I think their getting better at it.
LOL dan saying "deidre" xD
Oh man, Maximum Force, now THAT'S a light gun game. I wasted a lot of quarters on this one at Loco Joes.
The name for their shooter should be "DOOM WRECKART"
Reiner, I tried to watch this at 8, but my internet was not working for no real reason. I tried.
Name for the game "Goober Force"
Call your guys game Too DAN-gerous. Featuring DANgerous DAN.
Dear Dre
The adventurer who Dan said "Looked like someone" is clearly the rapist from The Last of Us.
Noooo! Not No Pants!!
Triple Negative... NOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooo..!!!
Maybe Aram Jabbari as the next guest?! HA! PLEASE COME BACK, SIR!
This game reminds of the band The Butthole Surfers. I do not know why.
I'm sorry your uncle hated you so much.
